Jul 2009 - $40.00
Super nice place: very clean, and well laid-out. The only complaint is the office hours are not very reliable. They close from 5-7pm and again at 10 pm each night: which is inconvenient. So I went down at 4:45 pm: they were already closed. We went for firewood at 9:30 pm: again they were already closed. Other than that, a great park! - ST59
Jun 2009 - $40.00
We chose this campground because it was close and offered a lot of amenities for kids. Best part? The very large playground - the kids had a BLAST. The mini golf course was cheesy to us adults but the kids thought it was great. The kids never got to use the beautiful pool because a large group of adults took over the whole pool area for water football. Bathrooms were yucky but luckily we had a camper! Walking trails were overgrown and not maintained. - Its Me
Nov 2007 - $35.00
Nice location - rural. Bathrooms weren't very clean. The sites were not very level. There were many campers with a lot of junk all over their site. The entrance looks like it will be wonderful, but the sites and the junk take away from that perception. - bonniejames
Aug 2019 - $75.00
Price is a bit high, used to be a private owned campground but now part of zeman rv resorts. Love the pool, and the animals for the kids, but many full timers, sights are far from level. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices for food is very reasonable. - GeoArm
Jun 2019 - $85.00
Loved camping here last year. Close to home for my family to be able to do multiple trips. We especially enjoyed being able to leave our trailer on the site for the week and return the following weekend and having everything set up and ready to go. You can no longer do that. We also enjoyed the breakfast (pancakes or French toast) on Saturday mornings. It was a great way to start the day and meet other campers. They no longer do that either. The store closes to early for a weekend and they no longer have the yummy variety of soft serve ice cream (my children think this is the worse thing they did).
Hopefully they will bring some of these things back. - Bcsencsits
Aug 2017 - $60.00
The roads to the campground from the interstate are steep. The utilities were well placed on our pull through site and worked well. There is no cable tv and we couldn't get any clear channels on our antenna. The wifi was hit and miss. The dumpster to dispose of your garbage is outside the campground and difficult. I doubt we would stay again. - FSUWizard
Jul 2019 - $75.00
We stayed at this park at a site by the pond (site 57.) It is the first season for the new owners; the prior owners (was “Toye Recreation” previously) had really let the park go, and it still is in the beginning of the renewal process.
- The nicest, most helpful park owners and staff we’ve ever experienced in a decade of camping! Really made the stay enjoyable.
- The pond is stocked, and we caught a nice bigmouth bass the first day we were here :) Also clean enough to swim in. The park also provides kayaks and a boat to use.
- a BEAUTIFUL area in NJ! About 20 min’s to High Point State Park, 10 min’s to the A.T., plenty to see and do
- Many areas in the campsite as of the time we stayed there are a work in progress & therefore incomplete - the pond beach area, the pond dock, what used to be a game room & restaurant, etc are not in usable shape.
- No pool, no WiFi (although cell service was fine), no cable.
- Bathrooms/ showers are only at the main building and are rough but clean. Porta-pots in other areas of the property.
- Nothing to do in the park but play on/in the pond, fish, or just hang out. (may be a plus to some folks!)
All in all, we really enjoyed our time at this park, and we will be back next year to see the progress the new owners have made! - Will Dennis
Aug 2018 - $150.00
I go camping every week and the staff were terrible and disrespectful. I would never book a spot on this campground again. If I was the owner I would feel ashamed for how they handled business. Very unprofessional. - Timothy Clark
Jul 2019 - $25.00
A nice park with fantastic views from the many overlooks. Up around the monument the forest has that wind swept high elevation look to it as it does on Sunrise mountain in Stokes State Forest. In the day use area there is a 20 acre lake with swimming and a beach and it does have a bath house and concession stand. The campground is down route 23 a little ways from the day use area. Campground is rustic and more or less for tents, pop up trailers and smaller travel trailers of maybe 20 foot or less. I would recommend calling the park for campsite details as far as what could accommodate your camper. Some sites are pet friendly and many have elevated platforms for tents or shelters. Park roads are showing signs of under funding by the state witch sadly seems to be so common in many state parks in NJ and PA these days. The views from the top of the monument are incredible. Hiking trails are good. Campground is in bear country. - GDM
Aug 2018 - $50.00
These reviews giving this place 2 stars are because of it being heavily wooded and therefor making it a little tricky in places to get around in a 40 ft motor home - So what? For the rest of us with 5th wheels , travel trailers , or tents have at it. It's wooded and shady and feels like a campground in that way. The pool was nice and it was clean too. Staff was friendly and it was quiet with no huge groups holding fiestas when we were there. If you have kids they will enjoy their stay here. - GDM
Jun 2018 - $56.00
Staff was friendly, but the speed bumps, trees and rocks...ugh. Sites are wide enough but the roads are narrow and trees/rocks really hamper the ability to back into them. And be sure to get a token should you be outside the gate once the office closes! - Mommajeet
Jun 2017 - $50.00
We stayed here for two nights. The staff was very friendly. The park is heavily wooded and the campground is quiet. The bathrooms were clean. We didn't use the showers. Our site was clean and wide. The pool was clean. The game room consisted of 4 arcade games. There are a lot of rental trailers and cabins. We walked around the park and saw a park model camper that had obviously not been used for years. There were branches on it and it looked bad. That's not what I expect in a resort. Will we return, probably not. - bwco
Apr 2012 - $35.00
This campground is a full nature park! Very primitive sites, but spacious! Hiking was plentiful and other campers very friendly. - jugs6686
Aug 2011 - $20.00
I have been camping at this forest, mostly with groups, since the 1950s. It remains quite rustic with no RV facilities. Sites are located in two separate areas. There is one area by a pond that is on grass and will permit you to pull through. Roads can be narrow and you should discuss the area with the ranger before picking a site. Wooden cabins are also available. The park contains a beautiful lake with wonderful swimming, and is next to an excellent athletic field/playground -- a major attraction. While water supplies are not at the campsites, there is a spring fed pump that gives you some of the finest water in NJ. People come to the park in off hours to fill their bottles. The park is open year round, but don't expect immediate help if you are trapped there in a snowstorm. There is a nearby RV dealer, Escape RV, which offers excellent parts and service. Also nearby is Jumbo's, a super restaurant for comfort food and ice cream. - rvwanderer
May 2016 - $7.00
Permanently parked RV @ 2500/yr., The nicest most helpful staff, sites are private and wooded, PLUS great facilities, lakes, pools, etc. My peaceful place. Was always a beach guy until I discovered Harmony Ridge last year. The other campers are wonderful friendly folks who make me feel like I've gone back to a better time. The main building has a small general store for camper needs. I would recommend a carbon filter inline between hose and hookup, as there is sometimes sulphur water. Perfectly healthy, but can get a little strong scented.
Highly recommended! - Joe Chartreuse
Jun 2015 - $30.00
Only campground we've seen that charges per person ($15). Great price for 2 persons, not so much for a family of five or more. Campground gave us a great site by the pond. Staff was very friendly. Our site was electric (30 amp) and water only. Electric outlet was worn giving a loose connection. Owner said my plug was the problem but I've used it since in other campgrounds without a problem. Sewer dump is in front of office and can be difficult to access if vehicles are in the way. We were in the area visiting relatives and would stay here again. - halfdimes
Mar 2014 - $30.00
Evaluating this park is tough because everything was frozen. The host did talk us through getting lost on the way to it and got us "unstuck" to get out of the park the next morning. For friendlineess/helpfulness they definitely get an A++ for 2 tired travelers looking for a place to land in a season of ice and for that we are very thankful. - ralinda
Sep 2018 - $50.00
At this price we expected a nice, comfortable, 50 amp site. It wasn't. There is a narrow, steep approach from the highway, and had some trouble with my 40' MH getting out of the way of the driveway. A sign on the office gave a number to call if needed help. The number went to an unopened message box. A resident passing by told us where they usually put overnighters. Since we had called for a reservation, we just took one of the two sites pointed out. We had to back in around a tree to get to the suggested site, where there was 30 amp service. The water spigot was pretty far away, but we needed neither sewer or water, so that was not a problem for us. An older gentleman came to the site after we had set up, and told us we could pay him the $50. Since we didn't know him from Adam, and he didn't seem to have a receipt book on him, we declined. Much later the office clerk came back and DW paid for the night. We have a roof satillite dish that couldn't pull in a signal because of the trees. There was no signal from the bat-wing, and Verizon had 2 bars. I'd have to be pretty desperate to go back there. - Dulcinea
Sep 2014 - $35.00
Stopped in at Rockview Valley overnight on our way to another destination. We arrived around 9pm and were greeted within minutes at the front desk by friendly staff. They did not charge us for our 2 young children due to only staying overnight. They put us in their rally field that had water and electric hookup conveniently placed around the whole field. The field was well maintained with low cut grass, a pavilion, and picnic tables throughout. Upon pulling in a number of campers and staff were very helpful in asking if we needed assistance in setting up. The campground was very quiet and people were very friendly. Although our stay was short I would highly recommend them, and we plan on staying there next season due to their friendly atmosphere and neatly kept park. They do not accept credit cards however, they do take checks. - Jlrineer
Aug 2013 - $35.00
Nice little campground for us as an overnight stop while traveling I-84 westbound. We were given a site in the "rally" area which was spacious and quiet. My only concern was that we have a 40' motor home and the entryway to the campground is extremely tight with low hanging branches. Once inside it is also very tight by the office for a turn to the area we were in with more low hanging tree branches. Also, if you are coming from I-84 and choose to go to this campground there is a approximately 135 degree left turn required onto River Road which was at the limit of our turning ability. Owner's son was friendly and helpful. Cable TV included in price. We would return if in the area if we were in a smaller rig, but don't think we would in our current rig. - Bob & Stephanie
Oct 2019 - $45.00
Stopped here for one night on our way to Maine. Good for overnight only. Close to the highway so quite a bit of noise. Very convenient on and off. - LakeAnnaLabs
Aug 2019 - $42.00
50 amp, FHU, pull-through site. Cable & WIFI included however, just as last year we could not get the WIFI to work but our hot spots did. Very nice lady in office escorted us to our site. Easy in/out of this campground, however you are immediately off I-84 and there will be plenty of highway noise depending on the time of day. Rate is $45/night or $43 if you pay in cash or $42 for military/veterans. Quite a few long term residents who work in the area. We have tried another park in the area but access to it was very difficult for our 40' motor home and this park is easily accessible and we only stop here for 1 night at a time. - Bob & Stephanie
Jun 2019 - $45.00
This is a high-priced gravel parking lot with utilities. It borders Rt. 84 and is extremely noisy. There is junk every where on the property. We would not stay here again. - Pepper2
