May 2018 - $50.00
I visited this newly redone park before it was open and was impressed with its potential as a small park in a beautiful setting. The improvements they made are very good. Road in is easy and the spaces are more than many parks. Enjoyed the pergola on the deck. The grass area is great as is the trail to the river. I will be visiting this park again this summer. - DWG

Very level gravel sites. Water pressure was good, 50 amp electricity was good, and the sewer worked perfectly. Ruins are close by, shopping is close by. - simonsrf
Aug 2018 - $28.00
Ruins Road RV park is primarily occupied by permanent residents with a number of sites reserved for transient RV'ers. All of permanent residents keep their sites clean and tidy. Some of the residents even mow their own lawn. The speed limit within the park is observed by the residents. The sites are very wide because each lot used to contain two RV's. Each site can accommodate almost any size RV. The interior roads and sites are on packed gravel. The electrical pedestal and water spigot are located on the driver's side. The voltage was strong - hovering between 120 and 125. Each pedestal contains 30/50 amp service. This is a basic campground with no bathrooms, showers, picnic tables or fire pits. WiFi was strong (we were right next to the antenna). Verizon air card and cell phone reception was good. The campground was very quiet at night. This is a basic, clean and safe campground. The Aztec ruins are walking distance away. Safeway is located in town. We would definitely come back to this campground. We travel with a 32 foot 5th wheel. - adsaxs

Not great, but not awful either. Big gravel parking lot with some trees. Really easy big rig access. Very quiet at night. Someone nearby has roosters and you can hear them during the day, but they must shut them up in the evening because I never hear them between dusk and dawn. Lots of permanent residents, some let their cats wander and a few times one got up under the rig and crawling around on top of the generator. Water pressure is very high, make sure you have a regulator. Sewer connection is cracked/broken PVC pipe, there is no cover for it, just a rock to place over it. No problems with water when temps went down to high teens at night, they have a heated bib and with my heated hose nothing froze. Lodging taxes are high - the rate was only $175/wk but there are over $22 in state and local taxes. Take the space long term (monthly rate) and you might avoid some of the short term lodging tax. Will definitely return. - The Old Fart

Very nice park...easy to get into once you find the park. GPS tries to take you on Kirby Rd. from the US 64...Kirby is a dirt road that goes no place. We back tracked to a road to the west that went through to East Blanco Blvd. Going east from the park on Blanco, it actually runs into US 64 in about a mile or so, as we discovered the next AM upon leaving the park. Would definitely stay here again. - living large
Sep 2018 - $45.00
We have stayed at this park several times in the past. Even though we called 4 weeks in advance, we still didn't get a shaded spot. We were the last space on the last row and it wasn't all that great; however, everything worked. They used to have a hot tub, but are not keeping it working. Since it was after school started, I don't know if the pool was open either. - Marilynintexas
Jul 2018 - $36.00
Our site was so level we didn't need jacks. There is a little struggling grass but mostly gravel. We had two shade trees on the patio side. The owners are extremely polite and nice and gave us a choice of sites and even walked me out to them. The bathroom and showers were sparkling clean. The store had a few fun interesting items. We stayed 3 nights and we would absolutely stay again. Btw, our GPS gave us the wrong instructions for which way to turn off of Mustang Ave. Watch for the Moore's sign. - Linda dlm

This is a small pk of 13 FHU 30/50A sites. They are not listed in directory, found it searching maps on phone when we were ready to stop for the night, they had 2 sites available. Nice, clean park, all gravel, all sites are backin, very roomy sites. $30. a night with senior disc. otherwise is $35. Behind office bathhouse is a little cactus & rock garden with an awesome view of the valley below. nice patio with grill anyone can use. Will come back if in area. - 2GermanAmericans
Apr 2014 - $30.00
Stayed here for a month and it was well worth the money. Low weekly and monthly rates. This is a smaller park that is quiet. Lot is all gravel and level, there is no dust. Owners were friendly and easy going. Bathrooms and laundry rooms were kept very clean. We would definitely go back. - CMDENTON
May 2007 - $18.00
This very small & noisy park has mostly permanent residents and sits right on the main thoroughfare. Of the 12 tightly-spaced, thickly graveled sites only 1 or 2 are available for transient RV’ers. The park is apparently full to capacity all year long, mostly with early-rise workers. We called for reservations several months prior to our visit and we were told to “Come on in”. We checked again about a week ahead of our arrival and received the same response. When we arrived, the office was closed and there were instructions to self-park and return after 5 p.m. to check-in. Had another traveler pulled in before us, they would have taken the only remaining site and our “Come-on-in reservation” would be worthless. Not a good system. The hard-working and sincere on-site owners work full-time elsewhere and there is no other employees to staff the office, thus leaving no help available during normal working hours. The owners are admittedly having trouble finding time for all they have to do and they aren’t too worried about filling the 2 vacant sites with travelers. To their credit, they have several improvement projects in process, most everything is in good repair and the park is as charming as possible given it’s poor location. The park offers free WiFi (Lynksys) with an excellent signal & speed. There is no cable TV, showers, or laundry – but it’s “coming soon” according to the nicely-designed, if not overblown, website. The sites are simply too narrow for picnic tables or grills, our 50-amp service was not working and the sites are definitely too short to accommodate big rigs (we backed our 37’ 5th wheel and still-attached F-350 into the end site – which left quite a bit of our rig hanging out into the “street”). We only stayed here for one night and even then it was a definite disappointment. - paulandholly

Good Sam rate. Entering the park from the highway is very difficult. Exiting may be troublesome for 5th wheels. The sharp angle may put the pickup bed into the 5th wheel. It appears that 32' rigs might be the upper limit. 50 amp is extra. Sites are very close. We have to step around the sewer hookup of the next site to get out the door. Located next to a horse track. - Mel & Karol
Sep 2003 - $20.00
We found this park to be a pleasant stop for several days as a base camp for local attractions, especially for our long day trip into Chaco Canyon. It is true that the sites are very close and the entrance is steep. We did not experience any exposure to loud noise during our stay, and we found the office personnel to be quite helpful. We were given access to a modem in the office, and we were also given a free copy of Woodall's Directory for the eastern states. There was also a very nice spa available. We would recommend this park as a base camp, although not for a total camping experience. - kayleigh

Jun 2018 - $20.00
Rate stated is based on weekly rate. Daily rate for water & electric is $30. Nice dump station. Dry camp rate is $10. Most sites are 30 amp with random 50 amp sites. Security patrol at night. Five different camp areas. Area 1 is a paved parking lot. Areas 2-5 are gravel. All sites are reasonably level. All sites are back in but when we were there we were allowed to park parallel to the fence as we were the only one there most of the nights. Next to a casino so there was some noise on weekend nights. Otherwise very quiet at night. - Bobco
May 2018 - $10.00
This is a surprisingly under-appreciated gem in the four corners area. As others have said, it is a collection of parking lots (some paved, some gravel) in the fairgrounds. There are water and electric hook ups around the perimeters and along fences in the center of some lots. We stayed here for five days and for the entire time we were literally the only RV parked in the entire complex. We parked in a "hook up" site but did not use them because we have solar. If we would have run out of water, a spigot was a few feet away. We had a fairly nice river and bluff view, 24-hour security patrols, very quiet nights and reasonable access to stores and other services. All-in-all this was a fabulous bargain and a very nice place to stay for a few nights or longer. - MrSunshine
Oct 2017 - $30.00
This is a clean, quiet campground, at least where I was in section 5 at a beautiful spot next to the San Juan River. I had the whole section to myself, probably because most people are smart enough not to pay $30 for just electricity. (Water was turned off for the season.) Sites are unshaded, near-level dirt and gravel with utilities at the back. Sites are fairly close together, but since no one else was there they let me park parallel to the fence. Roads are asphalt or gravel in good condition. Interior roads are a maze. They gave me a map when I checked in, but the street names aren't on the map. Another section has sites on asphalt, which would probably be better in wet weather. WiFi is strong in the office (building 1). I measured 3896.6 kB/s down. WiFi is not available at the sites. Verizon LTE is strong but sometimes slow. There are two accessible showers next to building 3. Staff are friendly and helpful. Credit cards are accepted with about a $2 surcharge. A free dump is available. - wjzcbn

Aug 2018 - $25.00
Just a basic dirt lot with hookups. Good voltage and water pressure.Front half is open for overnighters, back half looks to be mostly long term residents. Management is friendly, office was only open in the evenings after the owner was through working the hay harvest. I called the number on the office door and was told to pick any vacant site and settle up in the morning. Cash or check only, no credit cards. Park is not where the map indicates, it is on the southeast side of the Sunray Casino / San Juan Fairgrounds approx. 6 miles east of Farmington. - LouS
May 2018 - $25.00
Just a big, badly rutted field with crammed together sites, populated with many ancient and permanent rigs. Felt unsafe. Noise from semis (their generators) that were also spending the night there. Neighbor obviously worked a night shift and disrupted our sleep. No amenities. Had to ask for a receipt. There were trashed trailers sitting in one area, resembled a dump. - Sue S
Sep 2015 - $25.00
It's a quiet, full hook-up park with no frills. Dirt roads, some gravel, fairly level, semi-shaded sites. Park is alongside the river. Mostly pull-throughs. There are a number of permanent or semi-permanent rigs. Park is located behind the fairgrounds & the race track/casino areas. No wifi. No restrooms or showers. Cash or personal check--no credit cards. Works fine for us for 3 nights. Not a destination campground, but few (if any) are in this area! - User2356

Oct 2018 - $40.00
Friendly greeting at small, no frills, basic park. Easy phone in reservation. Site was level, asphalt, a little narrow. No grass, just rocks between sites which are fairly close. If you have a pull through, be aware all utility connections are at the very rear of the site, so you will need a long electric cord or park far enough to the rear of the site. Our tow car was just barely out of the road so we could reach the electric box. But all utilities worked well and the wi-fi was very good. While not a destination park (no pool, hot tub, cable, etc.) a nice spot to spend the night. A little over priced for what you get, but we would stay again if needing a place for the night. Verizon signal was strong. - starwind
Sep 2018 - $29.00
We had one of the newly upgraded 50 amp sites. Power A-OK.The rate was based on a week stay. There is no laundry room, however there's an excellent Laundrytopia one block away next to the fuel station. A car/bus wash is across from the laundry. - Bud H
May 2018 - $30.00
Seemed to be mostly full-time residents with a few overnight sites. The park itself was quiet but despite a 35 mph speed limit, the road noise was disturbing. The site itself was level with room for motorhome and tow car. No picnic table at the site. The camp host was helpful and said the owners are working to upgrade the CG and hope to put in a noise barrier wall. - lce3

Nice well kept park right in Farmington with minor Hwy noise. Close to many services and stores and central to several National Parks and Monuments. Roads are excellent concrete and easy to navigate. Sites are relatively close but totally level concrete many with nice tree shade. There are permanent residents here but all are well kept. Utilities are OK (we had a little trouble with the power and my protector, but a couple resets of the circuit breaker cleared it up. Sewer is nice threaded pipe, but the water connection is below ground in a drywell (I had to disconnect my usual Y adapter and connect directly to the spigot). They have a super clean laundry ($3.50 for wash, $0.50 for 8 min on dryer... bring quarters) and a small gym with equipment. Staff is friendly and helpful. WiFi is secure and good signal as is VzW. - FreeWheeler
May 2018 - $31.00
I would NOT consider Sundowner an RV park. It's a Moble Home/Trailer Park. The owners are nice, but that's where the positive comments end. The sites are poor, no cable, no showers, and no bathrooms between 5 at night and 9 in the morning. - OLucey
Apr 2018 - $33.00
This is a small RV park in the heart of Farmington but since it is on a side street it is quiet. Most units are mobile homes & most of the RVs seemed to be long term. We had a back-in site and had to unhitch & park next to it leaving no room for chairs, etc. That said, the owners are very nice & helpful, the park is very clean & taken care of. They just opened a new office space & have a laundry. It is a fine place to stay for a couple of nights if you are doing activities in the area. We would definitely stay here again. - storms

We have stayed at several Navaho Dam campgrounds. This trip, we stayed at Abe's, a 16 site dirt and gravel parking lot adjacent to a motel, gas station and restaurant and fly shop. We chose it for the full hookups, WiFi, and because my wife could walk the dogs in town. There is no bathroom or shower. This is just a place to sleep. - whizbang
May 2014 - $16.00
First, the previous review said that this is close to I-10, which is in the southern part of New Mexico - not even close - this park is in far northwest NM - more than 300 miles away! The reason to come to Navajo Dam is FISHING on the San Juan River! This is not a resort, but a park with nice level pull thru spaces, good utilities, a store, gas station, restaurant and flyfishing shop located close to the river. It should be noted that the community of Navajo Dam has three flyshops, so most folks are here to fish. Rate is for an eight night stay. We will return. - ronboett
Jan 2014 - $30.00
This park is fairly easy to get to off Interstate 10. It is basically a gravel parking lot, as most of the parks are in the western states. The lady at the desk was very pleasant and warned me about the forecasted low temps and advised I use the on board water to prevent my hose from freezing. The park was just an overnight stop for me. I will stay here again if I am in the area. - bones1941
