Very good place to stay, peaceful, quiet, plenty of room for the family to spread out. close to most of the activities we wanted we wanted to participate in. Clean restrooms, friendly staff. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Tent.

Overall Rating:

This was a convenient location with equally good utilities. The park is easy to get into, is big rig friendly, and the sites are mostly level. The laundry was small but the cost was beyond fair. Even though a main road was close, by nightfall there was very little traffic... and the night sky was unhindered by city lights. We would definitely stay here again. The cost shown is based upon a weekly rate. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Make time to visit the Chihuahuan Desert Research Center up toward Fort Davis - especially the cactus greenhouse. Fort Davis is also very well done.

Very roomy site (Deluxe Patio Site) with ample amenities and convenient utility connections. All gravel sites and roadways made it a challenge to ride my bike through the park. We spent three days here and the windstorms kicked up much dust! Overall a great (pre-Roswell) holdover spot! We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Must see #1- Sitting Bull Falls National Park ($5 entry per person) is about an hour away from the RV Park and it is awesome. Easily accessed via a paved walkway with railing. Must see #2- ($5) Living Desert Zoo & Gardens (situated above Carlsbad on the hill). Must eat #1 - breakfast at Blue House in town..awesome food, very courteous and accommodating employees. Must eat #2 - Try the free-delivery BBQ at Carlsbad KOA. You wont be sorry.

Not so standard KOA in that the sites are much larger than most. They also have BBQ and Pizza available for delivery each night. Nice long sites on crushed rock. Wifi was usable for us and we had a great Verizon signal. No issues setting up the satellite. Utilities all worked but with low water pressure. Two dog runs. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very quick and easy check in process. Personal friendly and helpful. Hookups quickly completed. No Wi-Fi unless you went to the office area. Satellite friendly. Verizon worked well. About 12 miles from Carlsbad town and about 45 miles to the Caverns. About a hour away from Roswell. This is one of the cleanest parks we've ever stayed in. After each unit departed someone came and made sure it was clean. After our next door neighbor left they came and even picked up his cigarette butts. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.

In all of our travels this is the best RV Park we have stayed at. We didn't get the premier site but got a pull through gravel site. The sites were long and spacious, level and it was nice not to be right next to our neighbors. We only stayed for two nights but we would definitely stay here again. Staff was great. The only drawback for us was we were visiting Carlsbad Caverns and it was about45 minutes away. Every RV Park should take lessons from this one! We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice KOA about an hour north of Carlsbad Cavern National Park and 20 minutes from the interesting town of Artesia. Good gravel access and interior roads and sites. Our pull through site was level, Water/Sewer/Electric (all of which worked great) and had nice patches of grass separating us from neighbors. Great cable TV. We did not attempt to use the WiFi as we have our own Verizon plan which worked great. Nice pool and sweet landscaping in the common areas including a straight gravel path through the park which meant we could walk to the common area without having to zigzag along the road. Great folks in the office with good check-in and an escort to our site. Nice dog park with real grass. Barbecue delivered to our campsite was a nice treat. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The 72.00 per night for 6 nights was in one of their premiere slots. It had a covered porch, picnic table and a porch swing on concrete. There is lots of grass and an absolutely amazing dog park. Hook ups were great. The amenities are to many to name but my favorite was the tether ball. The pool was great. Plenty of space between RVs (we have a large class A! There are some permanent campers but they kept them in the far back pretty much out of site. Great tent spots and little cute Cabins. They had at lease three crew members driving carts around cleaning all day long. Never saw a piece of trash. Felt very safe here too! Also they have BBQ delivered to your site, it was yummy! There is a large room with lots to do for kids and teens! Favorite Park ever and will be back! We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is the best KOA we have been to. The sites are very wide and long, the neighbors are a fair distance away, the roads are wide and easy to navigate (very big rig friendly), the staff is very friendly and quick to offer trips about local attractions, they have an on-site BBQ take-out that delivers right to your door AND the location is excellent. The park is located about 10 miles north of Carlsbad, which was perfect for us - close enough to all the local attractions for an easy drive, but far enough to enjoy the New Mexico outdoors outside of city limits. It is about 1/2 mile off of 285, and extremely quiet. This is New Mexico, so there is lots of gravel and dust and no shady spots. However, the park has nice landscaping and offers various options with additional features, like swings, covered tables, fire pits, etc. There is a small pool and a nice playground. We did not use the laundry or restroom facilities or the wifi. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.

Site was fine. Can't remember exactly what we paid... we had a KOA discount plus used some KOA credit. Pool was nice and had a roof over part of the sitting area which gave some nice shade, but pool closed at 7:30 p.m. which we thought was pretty early. Wifi pretty useless. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This KOA is in the middle of nowhere - Artesia is 15 miles north and Carlsbad is a bit farther south. There is no store or gas nearby. The park is pretty clean - several full-timers with overgrown weeds near the back but mostly tidy in the area for travelers. They have a BBQ dinner which was OK - they bring it to your trailer. We would have liked to sit down and meet folks but seems everyone went to their own RV. Bathrooms are very clean and modern and some nice landscaping including koi pond. Pretty quiet except a few kids who run through everyone's sites. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We enjoyed our stay here. Our site, the restrooms, showers, pool and the campground were clean and maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only problem was the WiFi. Had to go near the office for this service. For us (coming from the East coast) this campground and it's location in the desert and away from the city was just what we wanted. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.

Typical KOA with level, gravel roads and pads with a strip of grass between sites. We didn't hook up to water due to previous reviews. All other hook-ups were fine. Very friendly at check-in. Good cable. Wifi is useless and I was told that at check-in unless you want to go sit in the office. I could see several strong signals but couldn't connect to any of them. We did have a barbecue dinner delivered to our site and it was ok. It is an hour drive to Carlsbad Caverns and half hour to town. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.
