Nice CG. Clean & orderly w/good separations between sites. AT&T cell & 4 bars of LTE data. Good Dish Network reception but no OTA channels. This is a small bare bones park. Sites were long & Level. You put your money in an envelope and drop it in a box. We camped at Coyote Keeth's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bare bones park, lots of highway or seasonal workers camped here. But there is grass and picnic tables. Very clean and well maintained. Rather pricey but not a lot of choice in the area. We camped at Coyote Keeth's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Perfect for an overnight stay with very easy off/on Hwy. 87 in Clayton. Gravel roads and sites with well-maintained grass area in between. There are 15 sites here, all pull-thru and very level. Picnic table at each site. Do call ahead and reserve as these quickly filled up by late afternoon. Reserved sites are marked with an orange cone and we were told to choose any one upon arrival. Maybe a little overpriced for what you get but very convenient. We camped at Coyote Keeth's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this great, clean overnight park in Clayton, NM. The park is all gravel, but laid out well. We found most of the sites to be level and the utilities well-placed. While we noticed several long-term guests, there were quite a few overnight guests the night we stayed. You can't miss the park because of their giant water tank out front. No one was problematic, and the owner (wife) was super nice. The only real negative was the train noise, which we expected. Although they don't offer any discounts, we thought the $40 price was reasonable considering that they are apparently trucking in water. It was especially nice being able to keep the car connected without tremendous additional effort. My advice: skip the junky, overpriced corporate parks along your route and stay with nice folks like you'll find at Coyote Keeth's. We camped at Coyote Keeth's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a nice first-come, first-served campground with 15 gravel sites that offer plenty of space between campers. The owner lives off site and was very polite on the phone. You register and drop your payment upon entering. The sites are level and have water, electricity (30 and 50) and sewer. The park was safe, clean and just on the edge of the small town of Clayton. The park has VERY bright overhead lights on the west side, so you may want to park away from those if you don't like having your camper illuminated. The park was quiet - occasional trains across the highway but no train whistle in the immediate area. I would definitely stop here again. For those interested in history, Clayton was in the center of the dust bowl of the 1930s. We camped at Coyote Keeth's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

I believe Clayton has a small museum that tells the town's history and how the town was impacted by the dust bowl of the 1930s. The town cemetery contains the grave of Blackjack Ketchum, a notorious western outlaw and murderer who was hanged in Clayton in 1901.

A nice overnight stop. Most of the park was filled with transient workers, but it was quiet and pretty clean. Nice sections of lush green grass between the sites which was nice to see, but inconsiderate dog owners before us left several poop piles in our yard. Self serve, easy in and out, full hookups and pretty quiet even being next to the highway. No trees for clear satellite reception. A bit on the pricey side, but not much in the area. We won't hesitate staying here again when passing through. We camped at Coyote Keeth's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Needing an overnight on the way west to Santa Fe, Coyote Keeth's is one of few choices on the back roads of Kansas/OK/NM. Recently developed, the RV "park" has 20 or so dirt and gravel pull thru sites with full hookups and wide grass areas between. The trees are saplings and might grow eventually, but otherwise it is flat prairie as far as you can see. There is a bathhouse with showers. No staff on site, with an honor system envelope box to make payment and no assigned sites, take whatever is open. I had called for a rezo, but not sure if that would have helped if there were no free sites. (There were 3 available when we arrived on a Monday). Very nice owner we spoke to on phone on the way in and to report a water stoppage, which she investigated, fixed and called back in short order. Very efficient and friendly. On the downside; the park is located on a large parcel and is shared by a big construction company to the rear. Starting at 6AM, a parade of work trucks and big rigs with trailers goes right by the RV's creating a massive noise and dust issue. We stayed one night and had a thick coat of dust everywhere. Appears that many of the RV's here are occupied by workers at this construction company. Overall, a place to stop overnight, but the dust and early morning noise might cause us to look elsewhere if we travel this way again. We camped at Coyote Keeth's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Good place to stop overnight between Texas and Colorado though it's a little pricey for what you get. It's a newer park and hopefully, they will be adding amenities. Picnic tables would be nice. It's close to the road, but the noise wasn't bad. No OTA TV, OK WiFi, and 3 bars 4G ATT. Gravel roads and level sites with a patch of lawn between each spot. Trees are too small to provide any shade yet. We come this way every year and we will be back on our way through. We camped at Coyote Keeth's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Basic well organized park. Gravel sites. All pull thru. We self checked in and chose site 6 but all sites look the same. Modern pedestals and good water pedestal. Sewer connection also, did not use. Seems like great stop over for a night but lack of tree shade might bother some. Will stay again. We camped at Coyote Keeth's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed one night passing through. A bit pricey at $40 but there's not much else around, and I'm willing to pay that for trustworthy power. New park, new infrastructure so everything worked well. No shade, but it's so windy in that party of the country that it's probably hard to get them to grow. No picnic tables, small dumpster. No management on site. Call to pay with CC or put your CASH payment in a lock box. The person on the phone was friendly and helpful. All the sites are in-line pull-through, not the typical angled layout, with gravel roads and sites, and grass patches on the door side of your RV. Site spacing was above average. Did not have to detach the Jeep, and I didn't consider it to be tight to exit with my 38' rig plus toad. Wifi and water pressure were average. Would stay there again. The single word best describing this park is "overpriced". You pay $40 for 50A full hookups or $35 for 30A; no discounts are available. There is no shade, there are no picnic tables, and no trash cans. A poster at the check-in station said "Pack it Out" led me to believe there were no dumpsters, but I spotted one as we were leaving. No management on site either, contact them by phone and put your payment in a lock box. I did not see any provision for paying by credit card. The park is new. All the sites are pull-thru, with gravel roads and sites, and grass patches on the door side of your RV. The site layout is different than the typical pull-thru, these spaces are in lines, parking head to tail. Take a look with Google earth to see what I mean. Navigation would be very tight if all the spaces were taken. There were only four campers the night we stayed. With so few campers the wi-fi worked well. We camped at Coyote Keeth's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Uniquely laid out RV park, all sites are pull thru and spacious. This park is new and still a work in progress. They are apparently building an office, but currently you call and the manager gives you instructions on coming in and the self pay system. Electric is steady, water pressure is good. This park is in the middle of a working ranch, so there are flies from the livestock. This is not a destination park, but certainly fine for a night or two. Only a short drive to Clayton for gas, food. It is on the highway but noise isn't bad at all. Neither is the train across the highway...no horns until they get into town, then its very muted.

First off I am not a fan of straight line sites. They have 3 across an 5 in line. Although its a new park, I like others have said a picnic table would have been nice. The wifi was not really up to standards. As there was no over the air tv some type of cable would have been nice for the price. If I needed a over night stop I would return. As others stated, this is a clean but simple RV park with a unique layout of pull-thrus (check out the satellite view). All sites are full-hookup 30/50 amp and you pay either $35 for 30-amp or $40 for 50-amp. We paid for 50 amps, but after we set up we realized it was so cool from the storms that we wouldn't even be running our air conditioners. When the owner showed up to check payments (it's honor system), my wife popped out to say hi and she mentioned our situation. The owner was very friendly and kindly volunteered to return us $5 to drop it to the 30-amp rate. I rated is a 9 because of the lack of picnic tables and because the price is a bit on the high side for what's offered. My only other complaint is our sewer dump extended out of the ground and was barely lower than our trailer. From a glance around, ours seemed to be the worst off (site 15 at the far right). But it's a nice place otherwise. We had a full-strength Verizon signal. There must be a tower nearby. From talking to the owner, the story behind the park is it used to be a mobile home park, so he's using the septic system from that. Otherwise he laid all the electrical himself and redid the layout and laser-leveled each site. He has planted a lot of trees that will provided a wind break in the future. We camped at Coyote Keeth's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
