2 RV Parks near Fort Sumner, New Mexico
Jun 2019 - $14.00
I see reviews posted are from 2017...... This State Park management is by far the worst we have ever encountered in our years of travels. We didn't stay here as the restrooms were horrible and the signage was very bad. The answers we gave were only because some questions are "Required" to give a review. Park is very beautiful but what a shame they don't maintain this park at all. Find another campground........ - JR and The Boys

Beautiful park, great stop with kids. - mfcros
May 2017 - $14.00
This is a very nice state park campground in a beautiful high desert grassland area with great views. Sites are very well spaced. Few trees, but all sites have a shelter over the picnic table. Mesquite Campground on the east side has views of the lake. At $14 for a site with water and electric, this is a real bargain. The rate includes a day park permit. Note that only a few sites have 50 amp. Dump station available. - jwppagosa

Ok if you need an overnight stop. Utilities worked and site was level and long enough. It could have used a little more gravel. Beware the ants and all the "goathead" stickers. Certainly can't complain about the cost. We were fortunate to get the last available site since we did not call ahead. Clear view to the southern sky and Verizon signal was strong. We would stay again if needing an overnight stop in the area. - starwind

Nice level full service spot. CLEAN and safe. Some road noise. Antenna tv weak and but WiFi provided. Really nice folks running the park from museum/gift shop. Go into shop to pay and find availability if you haven't called ahead. - Sundevil1

A very convenient park just off highway 60. Large pull through sites on gravel. Connections were at the very back of the site so I had to disconnect the toad to get it out of the road. Self pay registration or you can pay at the Billy the Kid Museum. There is highway noise as well as train noise. The park is still good for an overnight stay. - Okie Boomers
