There was a shelter built over the picnic table that was nice. The lake is very pretty. Tucumcari is 30 minute drive away. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Good size pull through sites. We stayed 3 nights in our 34 ft 5th wheel. Site had electric and water. Dump site within park. The view of the lake is non-descript, the park itself is nice the surroundings are nothing special. Park ranger on duty was very nice. The wind blows constantly. Good stop over park. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pretty state park by lake. Sites are big and have a grill area and sun/wind protected eating area. Water and electricity hookups on RV sites. Dump station on site. Mostly level site. Scenic and quiet. Quite a ways from I-40 but it was nice to get into more of a rural area. Were there for only one night but seems like a great place to spend a couple of days. We were there with 26' travel trailer. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

All the previous reviews sum things up well, nice park, big trees by the lake, very picturesque, occasional train noise. Oh, and double up on the sand burrs, I thought they were bad at Caballo Dam SP and Percha Dam SP but here they're a constant problem. I would not recommend taking dogs out without booties on, and be careful with any kneeler pads you might use when hooking up, the bottom may end up like mine with 20 or 30 of the things embedded in it. One big exception to previous reviews is Verizon access is listed as "good" You cannot make a Verizon voice call from anywhere in the area unless you use wifi to make the call, and the bandwidth of the local tower (AT&T) or the park wifi is not sufficient, the wifi calls are completely garbled/unintelligible. I spent 45 minutes chatting with Verizon tech support to learn that. A park ranger confirmed this saying "Verizon phones don't work anywhere in the Logan area" The nearest place you can get a working Verizon phone connection is Tucumcari, about 25 miles southwest. There's a dirt parking lot next to Blake's Lottaburger by I-40 and I got a Verizon Wireless signal there. The park wifi is acceptable for reading mail and web surfing. Don't get fooled by GPS! Mine lead me to "Ute Lake SP South Area" which is nowhere near the campground and there's barely room to turn a big rig + towed at the end of the road. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Really nice rangers here. Lonngggg site. Stayed in Yucca loop. We are a 40' fifth wheel. Could have been 60' and still fit. Electric and water utilities well placed. We had 50 amp service in this loop. Pretty view out over the lake. Easy pull-throughs. Nice gazebo with two sided wall on our site for shelter. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We got to the park on a Friday afternoon and spent the first few minutes cleaning up our site. The cleanliness of the campground and facilities were a bit less than we've expected. For our dog, it was a bit iffy due to the sand burrs were all over the place. During the weekend it was JAMMED with cars driving all over the grass (the signs saying stay on paved roads were ignored and not enforced).

If you want a view of the lake or some shade - pick YUCCA loop. If you want 50amp, I think you'll need ZIA loop. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

This was a one night stop over on our way further west. Campsite overlooked Ute Lake and maneuvering was easy. We had a pull through site and it was plenty long for our fifth wheel (35') and our truck. There is a small covered patio for the picnic table. Sites were a decent width so you don't feel you are sitting on top of your neighbor, but still not spacious. The horrible part is all the stickers that attach themselves to your poor dog's feet and coat. Everytime they went outdoors they were covered and could hardly walk without stopping and whining to have a sticker removed from their paw. If you don't have dogs you probably won't be bothered. Lot of people pulling in with boats for fishing. Camp host was friendly. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is another great New Mexico state park. We have stayed here many times and always enjoy it. Sites are quite large and most are pull-through, so it is easy to get into a site. Most sites have either a shade tree or a ramada or both. The campground also has 3 dump stations so you shouldn't have to wait to dump your tanks. All of this and the state of New Mexico charges a very reasonable fee for a site and also allows you to pick the services you want. Fees are based on the services you choose. Our AT&T phones, Verizon MiFi and Dish satellite all worked very well. We will definitely stay again when in the area. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy access for any size rig. There are several loops in the park. When I called before arrival to ask about first come/first serve, I was told that only one loop (Yucca) was open and that was the best loop for accommodating larger rigs. Other loops opened during our 9 day stay in early April. We received a warm welcome when I called the visitor center after getting settled. There are three rows of pull-through sites in the Yucca loop, with ample spacing between each. During our time at this park, certain sites in the Yucca loop were designated as first come/first serve (don't know if that's always the case). Those first come/first serve sites all faced the lake and were some of the prime sites in the park. All sites are pull-through, long and level, and would accommodate any size RV. Water is available at each site. Some sites have 50 amp service, some sites have 30 amp service. There is a dump station near the visitor center. There were ten or so OTA channels. I couldn't use my iPhone 5s (iPhone 6 was fine) for making calls while staying here. Verizon data service was slow at times. The main interior road is asphalt, sites are gravel, although some sites have a bit less gravel than others. There is a nice concrete patio with picnic table at each site. Some of the patios have two brick sides, some are totally exposed. There is a fire ring and grill at each site. It was really windy during the days we were there. As others have mentioned, there are a ton of stickees/burrs, so try to keep your pets on the gravel, even though you'll most likely encounter them on the gravel too. There is plenty of space to walk pets. We would stay again, but we would buy shoes for our dog first! We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Have stayed here several times. Large pull-thrus with 30A and 50A electric and freeze-proof water hydrants.( be sure to disconnect water hose if freezing temps expected. No sewer hook-ups in Yucca loop. Nice, clean park, but lots of sand burrs!! I wish they would eradicate those. Has self-pay station at entrance if no ranger on duty. Easy access from hwy 54 in Logan. Big rigs no problems at all. Roomy roads and sites. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Only stayed here for an overniter, but it would have been good for multiple days. Not too busy at this time of year, a bit less than half full in the larger RV section, the smaller one nearer the kiosk was almost completely empty. There is a kiosk, but the sign on it said use self-pay. In the larger RV section nearer the water, the "waterfront" row are all for reservations. The 30amp was sufficient for one a/c unit. Lots of stickers in the area. The camp was quiet tho there were many children. No noise at nite beyond a distant train going past. Very peaceful. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We would have rated this park far higher if it weren't for the sand burrs. Wifi was good. View of the lake was great. Well kept park. However, the sand burrs were horrible. We saw the reviews saying this prior to our stay. The burrs were far worse than we had imagined. If you have a dog, you might reconsider staying at this park. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed in a pull thru overlooking the lake. Rangers were real nice and several times asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything. Did not know about sand spurs and ranger was nice enough to let us order boots for our dog and have them delivered there. Park is really big and all the pull thru sites are set up so you don't see your neighbor out the windows. Free wifi worked well. Overall a very good time here. Bathrooms were clean and water hot. Nice dump station. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.
