Stayed for three nights so we could enjoy the springs and do some hiking while there. Also made a trip to Los Alamos to visit the Bradbury Museum. As stated there is electric and water only though they do offer a dump station for a $20 fee. The shower and restroom facility for the campground is clean and adequate for the campground however the spa is really where one goes for showers and pampering. We spent one entire day getting massages and using the hot spring pools. We got a couples package that also included a private spring with a fireplace. It was lovely to finish the spa day relaxing under the starts in the Hummingbird spa. We had site 17 which is a pull through with 50 amp service which was near the side of the river which felt very peaceful. We hiked several of the trails including the one back to the old mica mines. We really enjoyed our stop and will be stop back when we are in the area. The CG felt more like a state park CG than a commercial location. We camped at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was a return visit for us- a two night stay as we travelled north. The spa is even more enjoyable than I recalled. The restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced at breakfast and lunch, a bit pricey at dinner. Check out the spa website and book a massage or other treatment. Entry to the spa is $20 a day but well worth it. We had sites 15, 16 and 17. Shady pull thru's. Try to avoid sites 1 thru 7- very sunny and they face onto a bleak hillside, rather than towards the stream. The park is fixing some new sites up with vintage trailers in them. All sites are water and electric only. There is a dump station. No laundry. We camped at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Besides the spa, there are a number of hikes in the area. This stop makes a wonderful and unusual addition to a tour of Northern New Mexico, and is an easy drive from Taos, Carson National Forest, or Santa Fe.

There is a small market nearby but you probably are better off stopping in Española to get groceries if you're coming from the south.

This RV park provides an excellent venue for access to Ojo Caliente Resort & Hot Springs. The sites are primarily wooded and on dirt, nothing elegant. The admission to the Mineral Springs is not included in the RV rate. The Mineral Springs are delightful and well worth a visit. Do not overlook the trail system adjacent to the site if you enjoy hiking. We camped at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The major positive factor for this RV park is access to the Ojo Caliente hot springs, although access to the pools is not included in the RV space rental. The RV park itself looks like it was laid out by someone who had no idea of RV requirements. Most of the water/electric hookups are located on the wrong side, so extra long water hoses and electric cords are required. The RV spaces are often difficult to identify. Many spaces are in heavily wooded areas with tight corners for larger rigs. Spaces are basically bare dirt and not level; some had considerable mud holes. Our water hookup had an odd attachment that leaked continually; even after I double-gasketed the connection. The overall park location is great, next to a stream and in the woods for the most part. Off the highway, isolated, quiet. Despite the shortcomings it is a place we will return with our 33-foot Airstream. We camped at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The hot springs is the main attraction; the restaurant is also very good; both are on the pricey side. Weekend rate for the hot spring entry is $38/person, extra for locker rental. A nice dinner for two, with appetizer, main course and dessert will run you over $100. One small convenience store in Ojo Caliente with expensive groceries and gas. Otherwise you will be driving 20-25 miles into Espanola for groceries, reasonably priced fuel and Walmart.

Nice place to stay for a couple of days. The Spa is excellent and the workers were extremely helpful. There are some great hiking trails right out of the campground, go check out Josephs Mine Trail. We stayed at site 11 which is a very tight spot. The wifi was excellent and bathrooms were clean. We were here in the middle of the week so campground about 1/2 full. Had an issue with our electric hookup and the electrician and host spent about 2 hours helping us troubleshoot the issue and pointed us in the right direction so I was able to repair. It's a little more expensive than most campgrounds but the location and availability of the Spa makes up for it. There are no sewer hookups but the onsite bathroom was clean. Dump Station for an extra $20.00. We would definitely stay here again when traveling thru. We camped at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa RV Park in a Motorhome.

This review is only about the rv parking. We had a hell of a time getting into our spot. There were some spots that were okay for a 40' but not this one. We should have gone back to desk to ask for another spot. Once we put out our slides, we could not walk on the passenger side at all and had to duck and walk on the driver's side. Internet was great. All that aside, we would go back because we loved using the pools. We will definitely get the spots meant for a bigger rig though (6, 7, 8, 9 and 10) Do not take 11! We enjoyed this little park. How many RV parks are next to a hot springs spa with a four star restaurant, yoga classes and massages? You are supposed to pay extra to enter the pools if you are in RV park- I think it is about $20 a day. The park is alongside a small 'river' (in NM that's what we call intermittent seasonal streams) and in the bosque so there is a lot of shrubbery and trees between sites and many feel very secluded and private. Bath house is coed, with two toilet rooms and two shower rooms -sink area is shared. I felt comfortable and safe using it. Some nice hikes available including to an old Indian ruin nearby. Fellow campers ranged from some nice Airstreams to a family of four who expertly erected a large dome tent. It's true, as one reviewer commented, that there's 'no reason to stay here unless you want to go to the mineral springs' but to my mind that's mainly because Ojo Caliente itself is more or less in the middle of nowhere even by NM standards. The spa was well run and very busy with blissed-out boomers wandering everywhere in their bathrobes. Not a very kid-friendly place - children only allowed in one pool and there is a 'whisper rule' - all conversation in public spaces to be in low tones. The restaurant really was good for breakfast and lunch - didn't eat dinner there. Daytime prices very reasonable. We will definitely be back to this little park. Tips for other Campers:

This location could be a nice addition to an exploration of Northern NM -keep going north and explore the Carson National Forest - beautiful gem. Go back to Española and head east to the Santuario at Chimayo and then take the high road to Taos. Or take the river road to Taos and along the Rio Grande Gorge. Go to Angel Fire. Stop in Santa Fe on the way up or back.

Eat at El Paragua in Española.

The reasons to stay here are the spa and trails. RVers are 2nd class citizens otherwise. You pay a high price for (very) poorly designed sites that are too small with hookups on the wrong side and hidden away behind the employee housing. Then you have to pay $20 to use the dump station and a similar amount to enter the spa. We went full in on the spa (private pool, massage, dinner and other extras) so found the RV situation annoying. That said, we were by the river with good shade and quiet. We camped at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Inspite of my comments about the RV facilities and treatment, the spa and surrounding area for hiking is pretty special and this shows in the obvious popularity of the hotel/resort.

Rate for camping doubled and doesn't include rv dump which is $20 and you must arrange for an "attendant". The spa price goes up on Friday to the weekend rate $14 more, $35. The sites are the same, but some trees have been trimmed. They have added a small bathroom close to the entrance of the rv section, and use this as the reason for the rate increase. The spa is now 'whisper only' in all areas, silent in one pool, so brush up on your sign language if you want to socialize, and stifle that pesky laughter. Seems a little tense!

This was a nice, affordable hot springs in the past.

The spa is a good value still, if you come on weekdays, which does not include Friday. I will be checking for someplace else to camp and maybe come for the day only if I'm in this area again. Will not make it a destination as in the past. We camped at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa RV Park in a Motorhome.

The only reason to stay here is to enjoy the hot springs. The sites are small, so make sure your rig will fit. You have to pay $18.00 to use the hot springs, and this includes use of the showers and towels. Bring your own lock and use one of the lockers, or extra $$ to rent from them. Water and electric at most sites, dump station on the way out. Had a great stay and will likely stay again when we need a soak. We stayed here to be close to Taos with maybe having the option to soak and do some fancy dining. We got our 35' fifth wheel in spot #11, not that much room to spare though. Most sites were very small, some had shrubs to separate sites, but some didn't. They have a list of sites and what will fit in them; check that out if you have a big rig and make a reservation in advance. There are porta johns in the RV lot; I did not use. I did use the rest rooms in the lobby once or twice though...I am pretty sure they were much nicer! You need a code to open a gate to get to the RV parking which seemed unnecessary; we are pretty much in the middle of nowhere. However outside the gate (twds the spa) is the lot for employees and for locals who hike the trails. Lots of great hiking right from the park. Upon checking in, I was disappointed to have to ask for a map of the grounds and a schedule for the yoga. Then had to go back the next morning to get a map of the hiking trails. I can't say that the map and trail markings were accurate, but we didn't get lost either. As far as I know, there was no map of the rv spots; we found ours all by ourselves. We ended up not taking advantage of their spa or yoga etc We did partake in the wine bar; prices were reasonable considering the location and atmosphere. The service was great. Other dining locations are a short walk to the main road: pizza, taos trail inn steakhouse, cafes. You have to go to the lobby or to the wine bar to use wi-fi. I felt a bit out of place sitting in a spa atmosphere doing my 'business' on my laptop. We camped at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We came here to use the hot springs. The campground, while certainly not top rate, was a plus. Everything is dirt and fairly level, with lots of trees and brush and good space between the individual sites. Only outhouses are available unless you walk the quarter mile or so to the spa facilities. There you will find a nice restaurant and bar and a lobby in which you can get WiFi. Shower facilities are available but only if you pay the additional expense to get in to the pool area. Maps for the many hiking/biking trails are at the front desk. This is a wonderful campground for walking your pets. If you want to use the dump you have to get someone from the spa to unlock it for you. Ranks with the worst parks ever visited. No one maintains the rv section of this "resort". Just driving in a circle to approach a site our rig got 3 big scratches from overgrown bushes. The angles are wrong so you can't come in to back into the spots they say will "fit" a large rv. This place might be OK for a tent camper or a rig under 25', but we have a 34' 5th wheel with 3 slides, and even tho I told the man at the hotel this when checking in, he neglected to tell me that they really didn't have sites for anything that big. He told us they had 50 amp sites. Well, there was ONE 50 amp, everything else was 20 or 30. Trying to get back out was a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and drive on by! We camped at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Good campground if you are self-contained (portable toilets and showers at the paid spa). Friendly staff. The desert trails were worth the stay. Ask for the map and bring water and your GPS. We used the spa after 6PM for $15 a night weekdays. So, for $35 a day, we had cool pool, hot tubs, mud pools, steam and sauna: with relaxing views of the desert, and comfy camping. Bike rides around the river was nice, too. If the campground had sewer hookups at each site, this place would be a 9.5. Using the central dumping station was OK, though. No cable and that's OK. Wi-Fi was OK by the office and pool: not in the campsite. An ethernet run and wireless router by the campgrounds would be a good idea for management to consider. Reasonable drives to Espanola and Taos. Nice place! We camped at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bad roads, huge potholes, overgrown trees (watch out large rigs), no signage; those are the negatives. The positives are mountain view, hot springs, a nice restaurant ($$) and spa services. All costs extra over the $20 a night (7th night free). There are only porta potties at the campground. Dump station near entry gate. We will probably not go back.
