Oct 2018 - $40.00
This is one of the top five RV parks I have visited across the country. Extremely nice - would recommend it to anyone. All sites are asphalt and roomy. You will be very pleased with this facility. - farmboy25
Sep 2018 - $43.00
Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 4 nights in a site for big rigs (site 309). The site was level and paved. The sites are roomy with grass and trees between. Ours was a middle site, but we still had a nice view of one of the lakes thru our front window. If you have a dog there is ample area to walk your pet. Our satellite worked great here and there was good wifi. An added bonus, there's a courtesy Casino shuttle that runs between the casino and the RV park. The park is located in a quiet area. We really enjoyed our stay here and would go back. - JDC10
Aug 2018 - $51.00
$51 day/ FHU paved site with cable/WiFi/picnic table and firepit Pros Huge campground with over 600 sites Sites are spacious and well defined Pool is well maintained Truly handicap accessible showers (best ones we have ever seen) WiFi was strong throughout park was high speed Paved roads/sites Truly no bad sites (no need to be by the lakes) Paddle boats for rent Camp store on site Laundry (1.25 wash/dry) TV room Trails around campground Shuttle to Turning Stone runs 24/7 and is free Cons Due to the size, they are very strict about the 11am check out (not a big deal just felt like a criminal at 1030am when we were packing up to head out) - hopalongrving
Jul 2017 - $37.00
We chose this park as an overnight stop on our way east. It is a very pretty, well groomed RV park/motel/cabin rental next to large pond. That I said, it seemed cater to the local population as a picnic and get away spot. We found it very difficult to maneuver in our small class A with a car tow. To get to our pull through site we had to pull out onto the highway and enter our site from the road (fortunately park personnel served as flagman watching oncoming traffic around a blind corner). This is a nice park for tents and small trailers, tight for most else. They only had a W/E site available so we had planned to use their dump station. With the narrow roads, we decided against trying to get numerous vehicles moved so we could get to the dump station. The site was grass and not level, water connection fine, electric every questionable. This was the first time I've seen a screw in fuse instead of a breaker for the outlet. That really needs to be upgraded. All in all, a cute little local establishment well suited to smaller RVs. - Dogs and Cats
Sep 2014 - $30.00
Park has new owners and they are trying hard to update the park and doing a good job so far. We stayed in a 40ft motorhome and had a back in site. Site was level enough to get level but it is a new site so had some mud that will be taken care of soon. Real nice lake for swimming and boating and fishing. Play ground for kids and lots of tent sites. The only bad thing was that we stayed under Passport America and the didn't follow the rules. They only take $10.00 off the night rate of $42.00 instead of the 50 percent. So if you are going to use PA you might ask when you reserve a site as PA was going to call them and straighten it out. Hope they do. - fuzzie1
Aug 2013 - $25.00
Nice little campground. Tight getting a big rig in but had a nice site. 30 amp, water. AT&T worked fine, no Sat TV because of trees. Only drawback was road noise . We were parked right at the road ( SR 8). Friendly management. We would stop here again. Price reflects PPA rate. - walt66
Jul 2017 - $25.00
We were here for 10 days...it was great, nice level lot, easy to get around...all back in spots with gravel , picnic table and fire pit. The wi-fi was free no cable but we got good reception on the TV antenna...very nice folks and he will come dump you whenever you need it for free. Puts a large trash can out by rig so you don't have to figure out where to put your trash. It is not off any interstate so unless you happen to be in the area you would not know it was there. We will go back again the next time we visit my brother. - gmasharp
Jul 2018 - $40.00
Great small campground. New section on east side has double length sites. Good power, water and sewer. Interior roads and sites are new crushed stone. No dust yet. Older sites are close together but not too bad. Campfire pits at each site. New sites have concrete patio. No trees so satellite had no problems. Good wifi and att/verizon signal. Owner and host were very nice. Great place to discover central NY and a great place to shop for antiques. Warning: Do not enter from Hwy 20. Use main entrance on Canal St. We would definitely come here again. - time2roll
Jun 2017 - $40.00
Stayed at this park for 2 nights. At check-in the person was courteous & very knowledgeable about the park & surrounding area. She explained that the wifi had recently been upgraded & another repeater was added further down in the park & to please let her know how it was working. The wifi was excellent and the park was about 2/3 full. The park has paid showers, but if you are camping there, the showers are free. The paid function is only used when the big antique show is going on in early August. There are about 8 or 9 new 50 amp pull thru sites that were added this past spring. Those sites are long and spacious. The grass was cut & overall the park was very neatly kept. it was very evident the owners take great pride in their park. I would definitely stay there again. - RollTide150
Sep 2016 - $27.00
We checked into this campground a few days before labor day. The main event for this park is a big antique show at the end of August and that occurred the weekend before we arrived, so it was nice and quiet for our visit. We chose this park because it was the closest park in the area to visit friends. The sites with full hookups (sewer, water & electric) have 30 amp. There is free WiFi and no cable. The WiFi worked well closer to the office, but was spotty at the far end of the park. The park also offers tent camping. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again . The downside of this park is for those that plan on using the showers. The showers are Pay Showers and according to a neighboring tent camper, they are on a timer and are quite expensive. The roads and big rig parking spots are stones. Each site had a nice big picnic table and fire ring. There are not many trees which is exactly what we prefer for a good satellite reception. The area here is very pretty. There is an old canal with a hiking path across the street from the park. There are many good restaurants in the area as well as many antique shops. - ahmavic
May 2012 - $35.00
This is a beautiful location, but unfortunately the interior conditions do not meet modern standards for short term occupation. The access roads are heavily overgrown with both bushes and tree limbs and badly scratched both sides of our fifth wheel just getting in. Most sites are occupied by seasonal trailers and it was impossible to back around into several others. The site we finally used had a great view, but needed blocks and a lot of work for leveling. Other, more accessible, campgrounds are available in the Oneida area. Sorry, we won't stay here again. - Little Black Dog
Jul 2010 - $30.00
Owner is very nice. Mostly seasonal campers. Limited number of sites for over nighters. Low hanging trees and bushes scratched our coach getting in and out. This is one of the few (if not only) RV parks in the area. - Westside
Jul 2018 - $45.00
Known locally as the Caanan Campground or Baja Shop Campground. High priced for what you get. Sites are just grass, and you can't tell where one site starts and another ends. I must have been the first camper at my site for some time, as I had to let the water run for almost 5 minutes before the rusty water ran clear. Once it was clear, it was good-tasting water with excellent pressure and volume. We were the only short-term camper in the CG, with all others permanent or seasonal. Although it rained, hard, every single day we were there, there was very little puddling or soft ground in the CG. No wifi, no T-Mobile service, phone or data, no cable TV, no OTA channels. Campground is family-owned and owner was very helpful, and we were invited to a family campfire one night. Very convenient to Hamilton and Colgate University, but for the price, I might look elsewhere in the future. - Scubadude62
Jul 2010 - $25.00
Sweet campground located off Route 12 in Hubbardsville, NY. Good entry road, field sites as well as wooded sites. Nightly, weekly, monthly and seasonal rates. Tent sites run $20/night and special event weekend (7/17-19) runs $35/night. There is a mini laundry ($1.50 wash/$1.50 dry), mini golf, fishing, horseshoe pits, volleyball, basketball, game room. Rental units are available. We stayed 7/2-7/11/10 (during the heat wave) and had a very enjoyable stay. Close to Hamilton, NY and Colgate Univ., as well as Roger's Conservation Center, nadilla Moto Cross, Utica Zoo, Fort Rickey, Sylvan Beach, Turning Stone Casino, Chittenango Falls State Park, Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Ame and Farmer's Museum. Also close to Bouckville and Antiques. - PattieAM
Aug 2017 - $34.00
Had a very large site in the woods on the lake. Campground is heavily wooded, but we managed to get Dish satellite signal. Facilities are outdated with 3 mens & 3 womens shower stalls for all 100 campsites. Roads in campground are potholed gravel and not well drained. Lots of boaters and fisherman use this park and many campers tie their boat up right at their site. Nice beach with adjacent convenience store. - Appleknocker
Jun 2017 - $23.00
This is a great area, unfortunately the restrooms / showers need updating badly. They are as clean as you can get them but not as nice as most of the other State Parks. The Dump station is really awful!!! It's on a SMALL dirt road that is one big puddle if it's raining. It's really too bad because the sites are large and wooded.
The beach area is beautiful and there are playgrounds galore! This could be a "premier park" if NYS would invest a few dollars in updating. The staff is very friendly and, accommodating. Wood is available at the check-in and, there is a NICE store at the beach that has supplies, good food and ice cream at a reasonable price.
We had the fried Haddock dinner for $10.95 and it was very tasty!
I believe ALL the sites have power and they are all spacious. The waterfront sites are GREAT!
Book early: this campground is 10 minutes from Rome, N.Y. and is quite busy in peak season. Even though the campground is quite near a big city, you feel you are in the country...quiet and peaceful! - saunts
Jun 2015 - $21.00
Very nice CG. This was our second trip at the same site. Many beautiful sites on the water, where we were able to have a relaxing morning coffee while sitting next to the water and watch kayaks and fisherman.....very relaxing. All sites that we saw were very shaded. Our site was huge and could have parked 4 30ft RVs in our site. The driveway was narrow with lots of trees but had no issue driving to and from our site. Site was fairly level and all packed sand, we've had no issues and CG also has a great beach within walking distance. We will go back again and again!!! - Garand1
Apr 2015 - $40.00
We've been staying here for years. The sites are rather crowded. Many of the renters are snowbirds from the village or surrounding area and are yearly summer occupants. As described by others the sites are essentially parking spots opposite the marina. Its not a resort, but it works. Management is great to work with and the seasonals are friendly and keep their sites neat and clean. I note that its rated as not big rig friendly but I've been in there with a 44' 5th wheel. You just have to let management know so they can let you know if they have a space that will accommodate a big rig. - Juandering
May 2011 - $35.00
This park is a parking lot on the Mohawk River, although what little grounds they have were very well cared for. It is owned by the Town of Ilion. There is a small marina there also and boat slips were $15 a night. Most of the sites are seasonal but they keep a few for transients. There is a cafe on the premises. There is 50 amp service, water, sewer, cable TV and WiFi. It is within walking distance of town so you can pick up supplies. Some very nice boats that were traveling through the canal system, overnighted at the marina and that was interesting. It is easy to get to from the NY Thru-way. There are train tracks near by and we did hear them often. For what it is, it is very nice. A nice stop over or bring a boat and go fishing on the river for a weekend. - pillaz
Sep 2010 - $35.00
This is basically just a paved parking lot, with sites all in a row side by side, angled to the curb, much like erasing every other line from a typical parking lot. In a 36' motor home, with rear wheels against the curb at rear of site, the front end is marginally in the one street passing in front. In 42 months of full-timing, this is the first park that we have ever had problems with low voltage causing cut-outs. Been here four nights and have not had any arrivals or departures while here. Of 16 sites, three are vacant, most others appear to be seasonals, though lots are not junky. Rental requires signing a four-page agreement, much like renting an apartment. - RVTravelers222_Ed_G
Jul 2017 - $39.00
Stayed one night as we travelled through. This rv park is a real gem. Spacious neatly kept sites near a small beach. The owners were fabulous and made us feel very welcome. Services and amenities were great. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others. - Wayne and Barb
Jun 2012 - $32.00
Consists primarily of summer seasonal and weekend visitors. Owner quite friendly, professional in front office. A bit difficult to find along local roadways. Signs to campground are limited. Campground is situated along meandering backwaters of a river, generating mosquitoes. Riverside sites are occupied by seasonal campers and are well shaded. The inside loop is sunny and grassy. Sites are fairly snug. All roads are unpaved gravel, with some mild potholes here and there. AT&T service was two bars at best. Electric and water hookups worked fine. We could not get any Wi-Fi reception at our campsite. Huge grassy area for play and games. A significant number of kids. Bathrooms were overused, hot, and steamy... Inadequate to handle the number of users. Compared to other campgrounds we have stayed at around the US and Canada, this one would simply rate as "average". Nothing bad, but nothing that special, either. - The Happy Traveler
Aug 2011 - $20.00
Very nice park, well kept by very accommodating owners/managers. Price is Passport America. Park is not too convenient to anything such as WalMart. Has waterfront for fishing, swimming and boating (boats for rent). - consort
Jul 2017 - $43.00
Just a so-so RV park. Was led to my site by an elderly gentleman that proceeded to tell me how to back my 5th wheel into my site. Really overbearing. WIFI was basically nonexistent, and when you could connect, you were allowed 1 hr per day. Pretty sad. Picnic table was not much better than for use as firewood. All warped and rickety. There could be more attention paid to overall appearance. Attention to landscaping detail was nonexistent as well. Power, not exactly 50 amp as one would know it. not sure if we would go back. - RollTide150
Oct 2016 - $45.00
First off this is a beautiful campground right on a very nice creek, now for the downside. If you were to stay here during the high season, then the price for the site was OK. However since this is the end of the season to charge this high price with no WiFi or Cable is extreme. The cost was $41 per night with a $4 Heating & AC charge. The weather was beautiful with no need for either H or AC. It was off the beaten path and very quite. Because of the high price, we won't be staying here again. - Jack&Wanda
Aug 2016 - $44.00
I would have given this campground a 10+ if it had cable. We had a huge grassy site on a stream or whatever they are called.
The Wi-Fi came in great and out cell phones worked fantastic.
We would probably go back if the got cable in. The stations we did get were all choppy.
We were right across from the office which was convienient for me. - C and C
