Sep 2018 - $35.00
This is an older campground with mostly permanent trailers. The campground is right on Lake Ontario and our site had a very nice clear view of the lake. The site was grass with a cement patio. The showers were the older type but very clean. The owners are very nice. We enjoyed the beach area at sun up and sun down. We would stay here again. - Travelindog
Sep 2017 - $35.00
Very nice campground on Lake Ontario. There are a lot of seasonal campers here, but that doesn't really detract from the park at all. We were offered a sight on the lake or a grass site. We took the grass site directly across from the lake access, so we still had a view of Lake Ontario. The beach is very rocky, but it's still nice to look out over any of the great lakes. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. They sell firewood by the armful, and when he saw me carrying mine back to our campsite he told me that it wasn't enough, that I should go back and get some more. They have a pump out service for gray and black water that I think is included in the rate if you are there long enough. Our site was flat and grassy. It was off season, so there were no others on either side of us. Overall I would recommend this campground to anyone from a tenter to a diesel pusher. - villager04
Aug 2017 - $26.00
Used non electric site on bluff. Great view of Lake Ontario. Electric stores fairly dense. Mosquitoes bad evenings. - Falco
May 2017 - $26.00
Nice very large park with the 20amp electric sites being the furthest from the beach and pond. If you enjoy fishing this is a great area with a long break wall between the lake and bay. Some of the electric box's are a good 20-30 feet from trailer so a extension cord is recommended. Limited parking on many site so it would be cramped with two autos. Hiking trails seem limited tho a nice playground for kids. Staff very helpful and restroom are clean. - Willburr
Sep 2014 - $26.00
This is a huge New York state park with several camping areas that are really spread out from each other. The campground with electricity is called the Bluff Camping Area. It is a wooded area on the top of a high bluff with a steep road going to it. Next to it on the bluff is the Lakeview Camping Area which overlooks Lake Ontario and has 2 electric sites on either side of the restrooms. The beautiful wide, long sand beach was about ½ mile from our campsite. There is a lovely pond (that is connected to the lake by a channel) with swans, ducks and geese and a place to rent or put in your small boat for paddling around. There is a boat launch on Little Sodus Bay (that borders the park) for boats that arrive on trailers and a dock for tying them up. There are cabins to rent here as well. The town of Fair Haven is very close to the park. Our site was large, and level and very shaded. - ShoreXplorers
Sep 2018 - $22.00
We have stayed at Cherry Grove twice this summer and enjoyed our stay both times. This is a rural, peaceful, flat campground with gravel roads and was easy to get around in our 41' motorhome. The bathrooms and showers are immaculate. The camping sites are spaced well with trees in between. The permanent campers are friendly and follow the rules. Their sites are neat and well taken care of. - jetstream
Aug 2018 - $49.00
Very nice campground. Grassy sites and plenty long enough for just about any length. 5 mph speed limit and they mean it! I was going 7 0r 8 mph and got warned! Very rural and quiet countryside. Many seasonal campers who were friendly. Short term campers are mostly grouped in a nice partly shady section of the campground. Also, I had a problem with my camper and needed a certain drill bit adapter which the manager offered to loan to me without my even asking! - User2914
Aug 2018 - $39.00
Weekly rate. Gravel parking with grassy site. Friendly owners. Strict 5mph speed limit. Quite. Friendly seasonal campers. Farm stand across the road. Good WiFi (2 devices, extra are $1/day). Most transient sites were full while we were here. - 2hams
Jul 2017 - $40.00
A good solid park that is less than 5 miles from the Sterling Renaissance Fair and is never full. The price increased from last year with no noticeable improvements. I would still stay here while attending the Renaissance Fair, but it is becoming less attractive. Power worked well. - BounderPounder
Jul 2016 - $35.00
We stayed here for 3 nights while attending the Sterling Renaissance Fair. Staff was friendly and helpful. Park is pretty basic, with no pull-through sites. There is no Wi-Fi here either. Sites were level enough, but rather soft and my levelers sunk in a bit. W/S/E all worked very well. Park is quiet and worked well for us. Being 5 miles from the Fair went a long way in overlooking some of the shortcomings. - BounderPounder
Aug 2015 - $35.00
This is a very nice campground located 4 miles south of town. Sites are all back-in; some more level than others. Lots of trees and plenty of grass with newer looking picnic tables. Campground is clean and appears well-maintained. All utilities are located at the back of the site. Owners are not always on site, so make reservations or contact the park if you are planning on staying. - DiplomatTraveler
Jun 2018 - $39.00
Small cluttered, dusty park. Owner had to get a couple of people to move cars in order for me to back my coach in to my site. Site was level and utilities worked well. Even with my signal amplifier I never could get the WIFI to connect. Park is across the street from Lake Ontario, so we left the park and enjoyed a nice sunset. Easy access to Oswego. Turning into the park from the road was impossible when coming in from Haynes Road. I put on the flashers, disconnected the tow, and did a uturn in the lot across the street in order to enter. - ramblin' vagabonds
Sep 2017 - $43.00
Arrival requires some planning and talk to owner before arrival if you have anything larger than a tent. Sign pointing to office is a dead end road. Do not turn in. I suggest parking on the road, putting your flashers on to get specific parking instructions. It is not a busy road, so you should be okay. - Charisma1965
Jun 2017 - $29.00
The owner and staff were helpful, nice and interested if your stay was okay. The campground is small, neat, and accommodating. It has cabins as well as full hook up RV sites. We were in site #5 and it was literally 60' from Lake Ontario. Just had to cross a small road to get to the Lake. We were in a motorhome and pulled, so we sat up front and looked out our huge windshield to enjoy all the sunsets and the ever-changing weather on the Lake.
The sites are gravel, but the park is grass, so while it had rained a lot, it has large puddles (to be expected). But the grass was so thick it really never became a problem. The bathroom had two very large, clean showers and two stalls. I think this may be a hidden gem only known to the locals who keep their RV here for the summer. All the "residents" kept their RVs clean and well maintained. Don't know if that is a condition to stay, but there wasn't one which was dirty.
The Wi-Fi was weak and the satellite didn't get many channels even with a scrambler that the office let you use at no charge. - oliver quibble
Aug 2018 - $10.00
Sites are large. Very close to Chimney Bluff State Park and Wayne County beach. Lots of weekend activity for kids. We will be returning. - Sowich25
Aug 2016 - $39.00
We had a most enjoyable mid week stay here with two grandsons and 3 big dogs.
Many of the sites appear to be "seasonal" and are well maintained.
The site that we occupied for 4 nights was on the "back loop". These sites are spacious, partially wooded and quite private. No sewer but a dump station was available. Only a very few 50 amp sites are available so be advised to call ahead. No cable or Wi-Fi. The pool was spotless. No laundromat. Staff is attentive and very pleasant.
The entire campground is very well groomed. Although the restrooms are not as modern as many that we have encountered they are cleaned regularly and are more than adequate.
Wood carvings are sprinkled throughout the entire campground...fantastic! It is fun just to stroll around and discover them.
Although a dog park isn't available, leashed dogs are welcome to walk the extensive campgrounds and the nearby State Park trails.
Very family friendly! Wonderful playground complete with wood carved dragon. We noticed the horseshoe pits, shuffleboard, small shallow lakes in which children could "fish".
Many intriguing weekend activities were offered but we could not participate due to the mid week timing of our stay.
A very tempting and surprisingly well stocked farm stand is on site. I cannot stress this strongly enough...this campground sells fudge "to die for"!!!
We will return next year. - Lab Lovers
Jun 2014 - $32.00
This was our 6th time staying at Lake Bluff campground, hadn't stayed there at all in 2013. The owners have made upgrades and keep the grounds looking great! Very friendly and hospitable. - julie stilwell
Aug 2016 - $21.00
If you are looking for a safe, quiet place to sleep while going from east-to-west NY this will do. Fulton is near the top of central NY so does not get much rv traffic. This is a city park. Hit it in dry season so everything looked dead. Warnings everywhere not to swim in the lake or allow animals anywhere near the water. Permanent problem with blue algae, which can cause ALS. Most of campers appeared to be lower income, permanent residents. However everyone was plenty friendly and staff was helpful. Probably least appealing campground we have used, but decent enough. Fulton is on the Erie Canal, has interesting history. - Mike from Bama
Jul 2013 - $20.00
Friendly park in a quiet area conveniently close to town. Lake is not swim-able but has excellent fishing and boating. Entrance road is paved and campground roads are gravel. Grassy, treed, large, easy access sites with smaller sites on the waterfront. Several docks for fishing and boating with a large concrete boat ramp next to a large parking lot with plenty of room for boat trailers. Has a wooded path leading to State Route 3 for walking/biking access to a mini-golf course, the YMCA and several restaurants. - Appleknocker
Sep 2017 - $50.00
We liked this RV park very much. It sits right on the shores of Lake Ontario. We reserved a lake view site the week after labor day. The manager lady was very helpful during the reservation call. She lined us up with a lake view site that fit our RV layout. She spent some time with us and we were not disappointed. Another worker gentleman takes you to your site, directs you when backing in, and helps you set up if needed. He seems to get a little impatient for no reason at all, but means well.
The town has plenty to do. Theres a beautiful beach, lakeside taverns, music, boating, fishing, historic sites, etc. We had friendly neighbors, but remember we had it a week after Labor Day. It is a quiet park with some permanent seasonal renters. We would like to stay again.
The WiFi was decent but sporadic. This is becoming real important for part time or full time rvers who need to work while on the road. Gorgeous views! - Run To The Hills
Jul 2017 - $50.00
Make sure you are on the shoreline for a wonderful sunset view Power also has 70 amp. Staff could not be more helpful. Very poor wifi. Love this site. - travel2011
Aug 2016 - $48.00
The waterfront sites have an absolutely lovely view but the park is generally unattractive. I'd love to find a park with that view but modern and attractive and I'd be happy to pay 50% more. We did not stay overnight and used none of the facilities but drove through the park to see if it would be a nice place to stay. I don't think I would want to stay here. - UllaPool
Sep 2018 - $40.00
So glad we found this campground. Very convenient being only a few miles off the NYS Thruway. The kids loved the pool, which was very clean, as were the bathrooms. There were no issues with the electric or water and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. Loved the fact that they had a bar & restaurant on site as we were tired and not in the mood to cook. The food & service was excellent. Not at all what you would expect for a campground. - Average Guy
Jun 2018 - $45.00
This is the second time we stayed at this park. First time was 16 years ago and we were disappointed back then. There has been little to no real upgrades to this park since then. Water pressure was 20 PSI and at times less. We used a Hughes Autoformer during this stay because last time the power was so bad and I didn't want to chance it. No sewer. For $45.00 a night we had 30 amp power and water only, that is all the park provides. All the facilities were dated 16 years ago and there have been no improvements since then. Restroom cleanliness unbelievably remains an issue with some unusable. Remember, $45.00 a night. Mostly permanents at the park and they are parked one on top of another. Roads are in rough shape. - The Man with No Name
Sep 2016 - $40.00
We stayed in the overflow area (loved it) on Labor Day Weekend 2016. We were very happy with our stay. It was very quiet and spacious.
Arcade/Game room was a nice addition, not alot of games but some and could use a little TLC. Showers/bathrooms could use some updating, brightening up, and minor repair and there's only one area of them. Bar/restaurant had a huge deck with a beautiful view (deck could use a little TLC) pool (right below deck)was clean and well maintained. variety of choices on the full food menu and both food and alcoholic drinks were reasonably priced. WIFI available. Friendly fellow and seasonal campers. There was entertainment and activities for both adults and kids. Bring your own wood. No issues with water, electric, or distance from pole. Didn't get a chance to find marina/fishing area. need better signage, especially for/in overflow area (site #, site size, direction sites face) a bit confusing. Off the beaten path but close to local roads/thruway. Will definitely go back with a group, and also recommend. This is no high end campground but is perfect for the average person/group. - Annette Meyers
Jul 2018 - $45.00
We did not stay because they did not honor our reservation. We booked 3 month in advance for a full hook up site and when we arrived they had given it to someone else. They said we had to take a no sewer site. They did not call before to tell us about the change, or apologize. We were very disappointed at this place! - Scampb
Sep 2017 - $39.00
Oak Orchard is a beautiful campground! We love it. My children run and play all day long. Whether it be swimming in the pool, playing on the playground, kayaking or fishing. They have organized activities on weekends. BBQs, themed weekends, crafts, fishing derbies. Hayrides every weekend..even a Hunt for Bigfoot Hayride which is a hit with my kids! Grassy sites, pretty big too. Perfect night under the stars sitting at your campfire. Clean shower building and bathrooms. Friendly owners on site. Friendly campers all around. Perfect place and we will be back! We can't wait to make more family memories. - Camping Mama 81
Sep 2016 - $39.00
We paid extra for 50 amp service then got billed another $3 a night for A/C. $39 a night was overpriced especially for not getting full hookups. The sites were roomy enough and electric and water hookups worked fine (no sewer hookup). The park ran a hay ride for the kids and had a chicken BBQ one night. It was not easy on, easy off from the interstate. Several low hanging branches needed trimming and potholes on the long drive in needed filling. The dumpster was quite a walk to get to. - Melodycthomas
