Very nice little park. Nice managers. Cable was a bit fuzzy and WiFi didn't reach to our spot. Several ponds, some mossy. Really the only thing missing was a pool but maybe not reasonable due to shorter summer weather. Overall it was a great place to stay and a really nice area overall. **Use Fanchard Road to get there. We camped at Red Rock Ponds RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

A very nice, lightly wooded campground along the Erie Canal with trail access just outside the campground. Ownership change during our stay, but new owner seemed to have thinking consistent with previous owner. Good wide gravel entrance road leading to good checkin area. Single lane gravel for interior roads with no directional markings so we witnessed multiple cases of rigs backing up due to meeting an oncoming rig. No real issues with big rigs except on the approaches to the campground as there are several routes that have canal crossings that are weight and/or height limited. We came up from I-90 via NY 98 to NY 104 to NY 387. Do not try crossing the bridge coming from the south via NY 237. Campsites were mostly backins. Gravel sites with grass between sites. Mostly level and reasonable separation. Picnic tables and fire rings. A lot of permanent setups, but mostly well maintained. Power, water, sewer ok. Satellite access iffy and highly site dependent. No campground wifi except in the office; Verizon was 2 bars @ 3.7 Mbps; TMobile no service. No recycling on site, but they did have a collection bin for redeemables to be "used for beautification of park". Some of the churches in the area had paper and cardboard recycling bins. OK road bike riding from campground, but the canal trail was a disappointment. It was packed gravel, but had been torn up presumably by the snowmobiles and was rough and bumpy. Good for a mountain bike, but much less so for a road bike. We would stay here again. We camped at Red Rock Ponds RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay for a few days while exploring the Canal area. Very clean. We had a nice drive through by a seasonal site and they had a nice flower area. Full hookups which many of the State Parks do not have available. Owners were very helpful with info on the Canal towns. We camped at Red Rock Ponds RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived in the dark (9:00pm) and the office was closed, but we had let them know we were arriving late so they left a map with our site marked on it for us on the office door. Our site was very tight for us to get into given that we have a 45' motorcoach. The manager saw us and came over to help direct us into the site, which was appreciated. The sites are level, gravel, and with wide sections of grass between sites. It looked like many people here are seasonal campers and everyone was very friendly. They are expanding this campground. The manager told us that they are adding 45 new sites, and they're planning on many of those sites being larger to help accommodate larger rigs. There is a large pond that you can swim in or use a small boat on, which the campground has several available for use. We camped at Red Rock Ponds RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This could be a great place if they enforced their long list of rules. Gets crowded on the weekends with lots of visitors to the sites. People tend to camp here in groups and it's just party time. Noisy with no regard to quiet time. Don't think I've been to a campground where no one abides by any rules. This is a beautiful clean campground, what a shame. Tips for other Campers:

Erie Canal bike trail is super close which is why we like it here. Close enough to bike to small towns along the path. Not much in the towns though. A diner in Holley was ok depending on the mood of the staff.

Awesome, this is the nicest little privately owned campground that we have stayed in during our 15 years of full timing. The grounds were immaculate. Yes, there were quite few seasonals, BUT they really kept their property up. The staff was very friendly. Our site was a pull-through that was easily 100 feet long and 20 feet wide. Our site was on the end so we had a huge section on the driver's side. The park is part of an old quarry, hence the ponds in the area. Directly across the entrance road is the Erie Canal, it has been beautifully restored. I guess the greatest compliment that I could pay is, If I was looking for a place for a seasonal site this would be at the top of my list. We stayed here in a 40-footer and would definitely return. Excellent power, water pressure and AT&T signal. There is no WiFi at the site though. We camped at Red Rock Ponds RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are a Christmas fanatic like me (I am a professional Santa), go to Albion, 7 miles away and visit the C.W. Howard house. C.W. was the first Macy's Christmas day parade Santa, he served in that capacity for 15 years. He is also credited with forming the first school for training Santas. He and Jim Yellin are icons in the Santa community.

A beautiful, well-kept campground. We had a medical emergency and spent 3 1/2 weeks here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Located right on the Erie Canal, there is a great bike trail going the length of the canal. One of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed in that has excellent gravel interior roads and sites. We highly recommend Red Rock Ponds. We camped at Red Rock Ponds RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Red Rock Ponds is a three year old RV park managed and owned by the couple that built it. The owners are friendly, courteous, and helpful and treat their guests the same. This is an excellent full hook up campground with a fair amount of well maintained seasonals. Grounds are clean and neat and everyone we encountered was friendly. The park was full for July 4th, I would have given it a ten if it had a swimming pool, as we think this park could really use a nice big swimming pool. We camped at Red Rock Ponds RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This was the quietest campground we've ever stayed at with the peace of the woods all around us. Nice, new, clean park with attractive landscaping. Pull-through was a bit of a challenge to level and reach sewer connection. Very friendly staff. Good cable, but Wi-Fi only in clubhouse. Erie Canal right across the road. Very rural area. The park is well laid out and has a lot of potential to be a great park. There is some dissension between the park owners causing some ill feelings amongst the permanent sites. There is no pool and there isn't much to do for children. The park seems divided into two halves. One side is quiet and seems lifeless after 9PM and the other side seems to flourish with activity till 11 PM when it is quiet time. We camped at Red Rock Ponds RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice newer campground, everything is nice and bright and clean. Swimming is in the pond. Owners were friendly. Wi-Fi at or near the store. The Erie canal is just across the road. My granddaughter and I had a great time. We camped at Red Rock Ponds RV Resort in a Motorhome.
