The owner was very friendly and helpful. He led us to our site, and had his son straighten a piece of my damaged step which I couldn't. Rate does not include electricity. Sites were spacious and the utilities were excellent. This is a no frills CG, but it is comfortable and quiet. The Adirondack Experience, is worth visiting. Come to this area with your pantry stocked, since there are very limited groceries in the area. We camped at Thornbush Acres in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

If you want to experience the quiet solitude of the Adirondacks this campground is the perfect place to do so. It is a simple campground without amenities hidden away in the hamlet of Indian Lake. The bath and shower are older but newly repainted and very clean. There are many large, spacious pull-thru sites available. We enjoyed out 5 night stay, while exploring the area, and found it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. Our electric cost less than $2 a day! We camped at Thornbush Acres in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A basic campground in a lovely setting. Don't expect amenities!

Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 3 nights while exploring the Adirondacks. Some seasonals here and it isn't pleasant to look at their sites. And we weren't comfortable with the safety factor.

They are creating more sites, so the construction equipment and mess is apparent.

Didn't use the restrooms, but the outside condition of the building didn't bode well for the inside.

They charge for electric usage by metering.

WiFi was terrible.

It is OK for a few days, but we wouldn't come back. We camped at Thornbush Acres in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good, basic campground with full hookups in the heart of the Adirondacks. Not fancy, no pool, no TV, and no kids activities. Roads are dirt but well maintained. Pads are also dirt and could be more level. The owners are friendly and very helpful with sightseeing information. Perks do include a blueberry patch and free firewood. We did not use the shower facility, but we know the owners cleaned it daily. Rates for a full hookup did not include electric. All sites have meters; we averaged 10KWH/day over a two week period which cost $2.25/day. We would be happy to return there again. We camped at Thornbush Acres in a Motorhome.
