This camp ground is in heavy trees, with a lot of separation between sites. Sites are pull through, on level grass. There is a picnic table and fire ring at each site. There are two separate areas - upper off the river and lower on the river. Most of the lower sites are permanent/seasonal residents. The owners are friendly and helpful. The "office" is in their house. The "laundry room" and showers are marginal at best. Two small washers, one broken and one residential dryer. $2.00 to wash, $1.50 to dry - pay at the office. One small shower in poor repair. The guests are not friendly and keep to themselves. There is a constant "hum" of road noise from the Highway. The grounds are mowed and trees trimmed, but there are some limbs hanging over the roads. There is no fishing on the river, it is too slow, low, and warm. Overall, it is just an ok camp ground. Nothing to make it stand out or make you want to return. There are much better choices in Wilmington, closer to Lake Placid. We would not say again. We camped at Ausable River Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate is combination of Passport America and full price. This park is in a nice setting on the Ausable River. River sites nearer the entrance get a lot of noise from a nearby bridge. Many of the choice river sites are taken up by seasonal campers. We were here over the 4th and so the campground was maxed out. Our electric protection device (SG) kept shuting down due to campground electrical issues. After the holiday it worked but did kick out a couple of times. A camper next to us had air conditioner problems and during a discussion with him I tested his outlet. Hot and neutral were reversed on his site. I spoke to the owners of the park about this and when we left 3 days later they had done nothing about it. Bathrooms and showers needed much more attention both during and after the holidays. When they cleaned the bathrooms it was very superficial. The owners were always pleasant, nice people. If we had no other choice we would stay here again for an overnight or a couple of days. We camped at Ausable River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This place was a fine place to stay. Easy to get to off the highway, near a good local diner, and a variety of sites to choose from. We stayed here twice on this trip, going and coming, and we had a decent river side site the first time but the second time, although we could have had a river front site, there was a mound of soil at the back of the site toward the river, which prevented us from backing our trailer into the site. It would have worked with a shorter trailer or tent trailer, but not for ours nearing 30' plus our truck. So we asked to move to a pull through site and they were fine with that. That site was level and it was very quiet in that area. Many big rigs here which usually means a quiet night. The site we were first given was beside a large group with trailer and several tents and many vehicles too, so we sort of had an idea that it would not be a quiet spot. So happy to be able to move to a pull through. The park is neat and organized well and had a nice clean pool. We didn't use it but it looked very nice. We camped at Ausable River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a campground you should give a try. Nice people run it and is laid out logically with many riverfront sites. Enjoy! We camped at Ausable River Campground in a Motorhome.
