Overall Rating:

This is a very small campground behind a motel. That said, the campground itself is fairly attractive, with plenty of trees and grass, a nice pool, and a tent area. There are only four full hookup sites, so we had an electric+water site for our 6-night stay. The dump station was easy to get to on the way out. Sites are decently spaced... not exactly spacious, but not right on top of one another. There are also some unavoidable low tree branches at the entrance. The main problem we had was that the sites are just grass, and we arrived after a day of rain, so our site quickly turned to mud as we tried to back our 40-foot diesel motorhome into it. We put down wood blocks under our tires and jacks and were able to get parked without sinking in too much but it was tricky, and when we left we had to dig our sunken wood blocks out of the now-solid ground. Adding some gravel to the sites would make a big difference. The gravel interior roads are nice and solid. The campground backs onto a paved walking/biking trail along a small stream, which gave us miles of walking options for our active dog. AT&T and Verizon both worked well. The free WiFi even worked much of the time, but was hard to get a strong signal from our site. We received mail/packages during our stay, but the motel office reeked of cigarette smoke and the person we interacted with was not particularly friendly. We'd consider staying again due to the price and bike path access, but will also research other options in the area that might be more big-rig friendly. We camped at Whippoorwill Motel & Campsites in a Motorhome.

Small but nice campground that is extremely well kept. Small clean laundry. Pool and game room for kids along with play area. Convenient to town and tour boats on Lake George. Trolley available that stops there. Immediate access to 10 miles of Warren Country Bikeway. Great restaurant Caldwell House across the road. Highly recommend. We camped at Whippoorwill Motel & Campsites in a Truck Camper.

Overall Rating:

We were 4 adults and 2 children traveling together which made our campsite more expensive but felt the price was fair considering we were a motorhome towing a small travel trailer. Campsites were grass and pull through but fairly level with easy access. Everything was clean and neat. The pool was excellent, looked brand new. Staff was cordial. Trolley for downtown stopped in front of the office. Even though the facility (motel) was old, it was away from the campsites and was very well maintained. Very quiet and the best thing was the bike trail to town was just behind the campground through the gate. 3 miles by trail to town. We would camp there again. We ate at Dockside downtown on the lake. Food was delicious. Prices reasonable. Large servings. Uber also available for trip to town.

Among the less expensive campgrounds in the area, we were happy with our stay here. Weekends filled up completely, but during the week there were plenty of spots open. We didn't use the pool since it was small and FULL of kids and others every day. There were lots of children on the weekends. We would return to this campground without hesitation. Tips for other Campers:

A little south of Lake George, it was nonetheless a very convenient location for getting to the lake for boat tours, getting up on the mountain, shopping the outlet malls, and heading to Saratoga Springs for the races. The local bus stops right in front of the motel, and is 50 cents one way. We used the bus in town only, but you can take it to virtually anywhere you want to go in nearby towns.

Overall Rating:

Well maintained, small, quiet campground behind a motel, on Rt. 9, on the outskirts of Lake George. This complex is a perfect place for family camping or family reunions: a budget-friendly mix of campsites, cabins, efficiency units and motel rooms. The Lake George Village Trolley stops here and the campground has its own entrance to the lovely Warren County Bike Trail. Campground roads are well graveled. Sites are on lush grass and level, most with tall trees and some shade. Most sites have a real stone fireplace for grilling/cool weather outdoor warmth. Only a few sites have sewer, but there is a dump site. Water pressure is good; bathrooms are clean; the showers are in separate, individual rooms. There is a pool. There is cable; Wi-Fi is available near the office. There is a laundry and a recreation hall with video games. The campground is well away from the Rt. 9 and we had no problem with road noise. We spent 6 nights there, had a wonderful time and will definitely stay there again whenever we are in the area. We camped at Whippoorwill Motel & Campsites in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Warren County Bikeway is a gem: pavement is super-smooth, it's mostly in the shade and there's very little contact with automobiles. There are a few hills but they aren't too much for 60 year olds; we rode past streams, a waterslide world, bridges over the roadways, and - one morning - down to the best restaurant in Lake George, Sammy D's Café (no kidding, look them up on TripAdvisor.com) for breakfast.

Nicely maintained small campground behind a small motel, on rte 9, on the outskirts of Lake George. Bathrooms are clean and the showers are in separate, individual rooms. There is a pool. Even though it is by the road, the campground is surrounded by woods. Campground roads are well graveled. The sites are on grass and level. There is cable. Only a few sites have sewer, but there is a dump site. Wi-Fi is available near the office. We would return to this campground if ever in the area, but not likely to be. We did have to leave due to a health emergency and asked if any refund might be available (we had paid 3 nights and stayed 1). The owners policy is to give credit for one free night if you return. Nice family friendly motel & RV park. We had Site 2, which was very level with grass but no shade. There are sites with shade and lots of tent sites. Small swimming pool but adequate, clean shower & bathrooms. They also have small cabins to rent if you are traveling with others that do not camp. The trolley stops here every 30 minutes to go to Lake George and Queensbury. There is an excellent paved bike / walking trail right behind the campsites that connect to everything! Great location for visiting this area. We would stay here again! We camped at Whippoorwill Motel & Campsites in a Motorhome.
