Jul 2019 - $23.00
The sites themselves are huge. It’s too bad the lake is so dirty. It actually smells.! ☹️ - saunts
Aug 2017 - $34.00
Had a very large site in the woods on the lake. Campground is heavily wooded, but we managed to get Dish satellite signal. Facilities are outdated with 3 mens & 3 womens shower stalls for all 100 campsites. Roads in campground are potholed gravel and not well drained. Lots of boaters and fisherman use this park and many campers tie their boat up right at their site. Nice beach with adjacent convenience store. - Appleknocker
Jun 2017 - $23.00
This is a great area, unfortunately the restrooms / showers need updating badly. They are as clean as you can get them but not as nice as most of the other State Parks. The Dump station is really awful!!! It's on a SMALL dirt road that is one big puddle if it's raining. It's really too bad because the sites are large and wooded.
The beach area is beautiful and there are playgrounds galore! This could be a "premier park" if NYS would invest a few dollars in updating. The staff is very friendly and, accommodating. Wood is available at the check-in and, there is a NICE store at the beach that has supplies, good food and ice cream at a reasonable price.
We had the fried Haddock dinner for $10.95 and it was very tasty!
I believe ALL the sites have power and they are all spacious. The waterfront sites are GREAT!
Book early: this campground is 10 minutes from Rome, N.Y. and is quite busy in peak season. Even though the campground is quite near a big city, you feel you are in the country...quiet and peaceful! - saunts
Aug 2019 - $45.00
Last minute registration. I was able to get two nights prior to Labor Day. Set back in the campgrounds all the spots paved and clean. Easy to reach boxes. Nice picnic table. Wooded surroundings, and separated by some distance from next site. Only setback was several trains passing by blowing their horns during the night. The casino provides transportation to the Casino. Ate lunch in the casino which was excellent. People at the front desk, of the RV Park, very accommodating. Easy to get around park, well laid out. Provided map which was easy to follow. Plan on stopping here upon our return from Maine. - C Mallo
Aug 2019 - $55.00
Clean park with lots of trees and several very nice ponds. Very close to the casino with frequent shuttle service. Close to NYS Thruway. Down side: NARROWEST site I have ever had. Also, no patio - only a gravel cut out. Clearly, this park was built before the advent of big, long rigs. Outside of that, nice place. Very difficult to find your site at night because the section signs are unlit and so far off the road that your headlights don't illuminate them. - BigGuy82
Aug 2019 - $50.00
Big rig friendly with level sites. Easy on and off to I90. Showers and WiFi was good. No dog park but grass to walk dog. Didn't use cable because no problem with our satellite. - Fulltimersrv
Aug 2019 - $47.00
Stayed on inner loop which had a nice bathroom close by, but you have to drive to use a shower. All grass site with plenty of room. There is swimming in a river, but it didn't look the cleanest. We were visiting relatives in the area so we didn't spend much time in campground. Roads were very rough so you don't want to go any faster than their 5 mile speed limit. - russ1102
Aug 2019 - $45.00
Very nice grassy, large, well maintained sites. Backed in and was level! Staff was very welcoming. We have camped there twice this summer and would like to go back again. Grandkids enjoyed crafts, hayride and s'mores. I highly recommend Mayfair! - SLF668
Jul 2017 - $43.00
Just a so-so RV park. Was led to my site by an elderly gentleman that proceeded to tell me how to back my 5th wheel into my site. Really overbearing. WIFI was basically nonexistent, and when you could connect, you were allowed 1 hr per day. Pretty sad. Picnic table was not much better than for use as firewood. All warped and rickety. There could be more attention paid to overall appearance. Attention to landscaping detail was nonexistent as well. Power, not exactly 50 amp as one would know it. not sure if we would go back. - RollTide150
Jul 2017 - $39.00
Stayed one night as we travelled through. This rv park is a real gem. Spacious neatly kept sites near a small beach. The owners were fabulous and made us feel very welcome. Services and amenities were great. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others. - Wayne and Barb
Jun 2012 - $32.00
Consists primarily of summer seasonal and weekend visitors. Owner quite friendly, professional in front office. A bit difficult to find along local roadways. Signs to campground are limited. Campground is situated along meandering backwaters of a river, generating mosquitoes. Riverside sites are occupied by seasonal campers and are well shaded. The inside loop is sunny and grassy. Sites are fairly snug. All roads are unpaved gravel, with some mild potholes here and there. AT&T service was two bars at best. Electric and water hookups worked fine. We could not get any Wi-Fi reception at our campsite. Huge grassy area for play and games. A significant number of kids. Bathrooms were overused, hot, and steamy... Inadequate to handle the number of users. Compared to other campgrounds we have stayed at around the US and Canada, this one would simply rate as "average". Nothing bad, but nothing that special, either. - The Happy Traveler
Aug 2011 - $20.00
Very nice park, well kept by very accommodating owners/managers. Price is Passport America. Park is not too convenient to anything such as WalMart. Has waterfront for fishing, swimming and boating (boats for rent). - consort
Jul 2013 - $44.00
Worst experience ever. We were suppose to have 50 amp service, but couldn't even get 30 amp. They kept blaming the problem on the electric company, but it was the way the pedestal was wired. It was not only my site, but with the rest of the group we were camping with, a total of 10 sites. Quiet hours were suppose to be from 11pm to 8 am, but other camper were loud way past midnight. Will never go to this campground again. - HR 2007
Sep 2010 - $1.00
While we did not stay here we took a drive through the CG to see what it looked like. The other posters were right on the mark. Almost all fulltime residents and not many other sites available to camp on. Would not camp here. There are others in the area! - norootsnow
Sep 2010 - $40.00
Campground was clean however, the workers were rude. Quite time is suppose to be 11:00pm to 8:00am but they had us turn down and off our music during the day. Then the told us we could face the music towards the river and that would be okay but they came down later and told us it was too loud again before 11:00pm. Have a gate key with a charge of $6 when you bring back the key you get your $6 back, one of our campers did not receive the key when they checked it however they charged them for it and would not refund the money when we checked out. Mostly seasonal people camp here and most are not friendly. Would not go back to this campground, it's not worth the money. - rozymat
Apr 2019 - $25.00
They just opened for the season so they weren't really open. Power was good, but no cable or WiFi, hadn't been turned on yet. Large grassy site. Lots of semi permanent RVs. Looks to be busy in the summer. - Tredguy
Jun 2015 - $25.00
Stayed at the campground for a week using PA. The campground is well maintained but very outdated. Bathrooms are badly need of overhaul but were clean. Many seasonal campers, but were well kept. Did not see any swimming area. WiFi signal was strong but all but useless. It was extremely slow. Internal roads need repair. Staff was friendly and helpful. - roybrody
Jun 2014 - $37.00
Beautiful campground, friendly staff, well-stocked camp store, and an actual beach with sand in the swimming area add up to a great camping experience! Will definitely recommend this place to family and friends when they are in the area and will most definitely camp here again and again! - DollyFulltimer
Aug 2017 - $27.00
We've been coming here for a few years now, and have enjoyed the updates. It's a pretty place, well kept and clean. VERY unhappy this year, we made our reservations 9 mos. in advance, when we arrived, much to our dismay, they had removed the water hookups and added a splash park right next to our site. We had to go buy 150ft more hose to get water, and listen to screaming kids from 9am to 8pm daily. We should have been advised of these changes and offered free cancellation or change to our reservation. - MeMe08
Sep 2011 - $29.00
Fairly nice place in the off season, very quiet and lake front sites are easily obtained. I imagine it might be a little crazy in the peak season. Sites are not well marked and confusing, some are low and will be wet/mushy in the rain. The town of Sylvan Beach is 2 miles away with lots of seasonal weeknight events, an old-time amusement park, and several restaurants. Good Verizon coverage. - silvertube
May 2011 - $25.00
Verona Beach State Park has a great semi rustic campground. It's extremely clean and has beautiful views of Oneida Lake and extensive trails. The sites right on the lake are especially nice. There aren't many utility hook ups but most, if not all, of the sites are very easy to access. They have a sandy shallow swimming beach, which the children enjoyed. The the town of Sylvan Beach, NY is very close and has several cute shops and a little amusement park. - Research2011
Jul 2015 - $20.00
A real gem at the edge of Adirondack Park! The facility is a wide open space with shade trees around the perimeter. The park road is gravel and plenty wide. Sites are grass with pedestal conveniently located in the rear. Most sites are level, requiring no more that a 2" board or block to level. A few sites at the lower end are soft after heavy rain. Full hookups are available with 30 & 50 amp plugs. There are also sites with no hookups or electric only for boondocking or tents. Satellite access is easy and AT&T service is good.
The park has a recreation room available that is used for square dancing on the weekends. There is a plumbed restroom and a shower facility.
There is no web site for this park. The managers quickly responded to phone messages and were very accommodating during our stay.
Basic campground but a great bargain, convenient location and wonderful hosts. - Rod n Mary
Jul 2011 - $33.00
Could be a nice campground but Mrs. owner was not friendly at all. How do you expect to work with the public when you have no respect for them. Sorry to say we will not be coming back here neither will the other two campers with our party. We had 3 sites and 3 campers and we all feel the same way about this campground. - Karen and Pat
Jun 2005 - $32.00
All dirt sites, not much grass anywhere. Way to many trees, couldn't even see the sun. Old campground, permanent trailers there hadn't been cleaned up since??? and neither have there sites. Great fishing pond, but has very little access. - PETEALEX
Sep 2019 - $58.00
This park has nice spacious sites from tenting to cabins to full hook ups. We come every Labor Day and have to book a year out to be guaranteed your site. Campground owners should visit here and see how a week run campground it... Very family friendly too... - RPHaskins
Jul 2019 - $46.00
We had more than enough room at our site for our 40' motorhome. The spaces are quite large with some trees between the sites which is nice. This is a small campground with 7 sites right next to the creek. Sites 1-10 are on the open grass field next to the pavillon so avoid those if you are looking for a shady more private spot. Overall great place to stay. The icecream cones we enjoyed at the little red caboose in front were very good. - airstreamerSC
Jun 2019 - $62.00
If you’re looking to tube the West Canada Creek this is the place to stay. They offer a shuttle to a drop off point where you can float all the way to the campground. Only downside is there aren’t too many 50amp sites and the number that fit a big rig are even less. We have a 50amp but had a back-in 30amp site. We couldn’t run the a/c but the temp was pleasant enough that we were okay with just windows open - AJay
