**Note, park does not accept credit cards** This park is a good location to Schenectady and right on the Mohawk river. The park is quiet and clean and lush. The sites are pretty close together and the one we had was particularly un-level to the point of being 1 of the most un-level sites we've experienced in our 2 yrs of full timing. This was really the only negative for the park but it was a pretty significant negative and bothered me enough to knock a star off just for that. The staff was very friendly. The owner's son checked us in and he was really nice so I don't know about the previous reviews indicating bad customer service, but we did not experience that. Park is easy to navigate with good roads in and out. Big rig friendly and good location to the hwy. Sites are gravel. Drainage was good after rains. The internet. OMG the internet was phenomenal. Free wifi that was over 100mb d/l the entire 2 week stay even with a fairly full park. No cable (they should remove that from their website) but OTA channels were good signal and all the channels you'd need. Because their internet was so great, I didn't use the hotspots but I did test them and both Verizon and ATT had good speeds (over 10mb) w/out booster. We had a 50 amp FHU and it there were no issues with that. Lots of walking opportunities and there's a great paved bike trail right by the railroad tracks where you turn to enter the park. It goes for miles. Used Cunningham's laundromat in Scotia and it was great. Very clean and fair priced with lots of large machines. - Jessie1975

Right along the Mohawk River. Very friendly staff. They don't take credit cards. Satellite reception was good using Dish and the Eastern arc. - mcjohnson74

You won't be disappointed staying at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park, nestled alongside the Mohawk River in a parklike setting. Direct access to the river is provided at the park; we enjoyed a nice long kayak adventure up the river. Although most of the sites are under a canopy of trees, we were able to secure a wonderful long, level site with a river view and perfect satellite reception. Roads and sites within the park are gravel, complete with a picnic table and fire ring. The park office is located a short distance from the actual entrance to the park, so don't become concerned about the seemingly long drive. Access to the park is across a set of railroad tracks with an immediate right-hand turn; a bit tricky in a long coach with a tow if you are not expecting the quick turn. Fortunately, the road onto which you turn is not busy, so swinging wide is not a problem. Check-in at the park was quickly accomplished by a wonderfully friendly and accommodating owner, who went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed...even to the point of offering to extend our stay in the same site, should we need it. (Our coach had been damaged by an inattentive truck driver at a fuel stop during our drive to the park, and we were not sure how long we needed to stay while repairs were made. Luckily, our newly-acquainted neighbor at the park recommended a wonderful repair facility in Scotia, NY, where we were able to get needed repairs done quickly and efficiently.) In between repairs, we were made a trip into Albany to visit the state capitol and city sights. Also a minimal biking distance from the park is the entrance (located in the Rt. 5 Park & Ride - back across the railroad tracks) to the Mohawk Hudson Bikeway which we rode all the way into Schenectady. Should we ever be in this area again, we would not hesitate to stay at Arrowhead again, nor do we hesitate recommending this park to everyone. - HRTravelers

Major complaint is they put our 30 foot travel trailer in a 16 foot wide campsite. The utility hookups were unsatisfactory, loose electric box, leaky faucet, rusty water from faucet and sewer connection up hill from tank drain. Seasonal travel trailer was less than 12 inches from our travel trailer. Seasonal trailer on opposite side had their children's toys, trash cans and two large gas grills right at our picnic table. Sewer up hill - made it hard to empty travel trailer. Our fire ring was unusable due to being to close to our travel trailer and no where else to put it. Could not tell you who the owners were. Never saw them. The only good thing was a charity car show held on Saturday. Did not feel welcomed there. We will look for other places if travel in this area again. - KMCOtisfield
Jul 2018 - $48.00
The park is mostly seasonal campers and was very muddy with all the rain. Sites are gravel and pretty level. Back in site with no utilities issues. Parking in the front of coach in the mud. Narrow roads and had to move car so another Motorhome could back into their site across from us. Steep entrance but doable. Must show current rabies vaccinations. Would not stay here again. Office was nice about changing our site when we accidentally set up in the wrong one. - Vicki K

We were looking for a place to camp for a couple of nights to break up a 10 hour drive from our home to our destination in Vermont. Depending on which direction you come in the entrance can be tricky for some bigger RV. It is a very sharp left turn to enter. Fortunately we have a little pop up. Our site was decent, pretty level, a little wet from recent rains, but shady as requested. Too close to the road for my liking but more than enough space. My disappointment set in when I went to use the restroom. I was told at check in that there were two bathrooms on our level. Showers, laundry etc were in one central location at the bottom. Okay, I can deal with that. The restrooms were a step above a pit toilet. They were flush, very old, smelled. One extremely dirty sink with only cold water, the hot water handles were removed. No mirrors, shelf, hooks. The majority of "campers" are Big RV's and seasonal. Some look like they have been there for years. Some well maintained , others pretty scary. The level below was for tents. It was packed to the brim. And the "campers" in my opinion were not educated in camping etiquette. Several groups/families together with a ton of kids. Great I love to see families enjoying the outdoors. However, the adults spent a lot of time drinking, were loud; did not bother to monitor the kids. Starting at 645 am all we heard was Mom mom mom or dad dad dad .... repeatedly. I wanted to say PLEASE respond to your child, clearly they need your attention. Our 2nd night while eating dinner the noise level was rising. I wanted to take a hot shower, but did not want to hike up & down to the central location. There is no parking near it. The staff is not friendly. We were warned about exceeding the 5 MPH speed limit. Yes we were going at least 7 mph. Most ride around in golf carts We ended up packing up & leaving early. I only recommend this as last resort if you need a place for a night. Definitely not worth what they are charging. Not a great place if you are a Pop UP or tent camper. - abuelita2jnj

This campground is very nice located 18 miles southwest of Albany with 121 sites located in three loops. No services but many of the campsites are a good size located in a forest with a few having lake views. The bottom loops seem to be quieter than the beach loop sites 1 -52. Our site was a good size located in the beach loop with a picnic table and a huge fire pit. Nice site. Since we came in on Memorial Day and it seemed to have been full for the weekend there was a long line for the dump station and a lot of campers in the park. The beach is not always open during the week. The restrooms were clean considering this was Memorial Weekend. The park has the beach, nature center, basketball court, horseshoe pit , playground, volleyball and picnic sites. The check-in girl was very nice especially since she was overwhelmed with all the campers trying to leave, day trippers coming in for the beach and campers looking for sites. The problem at this state park is that it is full on weekends and not many during the week but then they let a number of people or groups come for the day. There are a number of picnic tables for these groups or families to use but some try to come in the beach loop and use the campsites. I will say the workers did patrol frequently and very nicely tried to move some of these groups out. There is a shortage of parking for the number that they allow in so the beach loop had cars parked along the campsite road which can cause a problem. We would have had a problem getting our RV out of our site. Many of the groups were loud and they are allowed to stay to 10 at night. I know this was Memorial Day, so I have to make an exception but my rating of the beauty of the park, facilities, sites, and staff would have been a 8 with no services. Since they let to many people in for the daily beach pass with not enough parking, I will rate the park lower. Monday night there were only a few of us in the park overnight. - gsnakehill
Jun 2008 - $24.00
My wife and I took our trailer here for our very first maiden trip. The sites were flat, clean and nicely wooded. This park is a nice family park that has a nice beach area and boat launch. - bigjimbo78
Aug 2007 - $20.00
The site had a fire ring and picnic table. Nice shade trees. We requested lakeside, and received a lakeside spot, but a fence was up. So you could not reach the water from our campsite. We had a very nice time. Would go again. - dgenco
Aug 2018 - $32.00
Large RV park with all of the sites on grass. Many of the sites will require leveling. Interior roads are gravel and would benefit from additional gravel and leveling. Mostly seasonal campers, many with added structures in varying condition. We had a pull through site in a grass field which was very wet. RV Park in kept in decent shape with grass cut and trees trimmed. Not much to do here but suitable as a quick stop or if you are visiting family in the area. - linnemj
May 2010 - $30.00
Site size very nice, site 1 thru 31 have 30 amp connection 32 and above will need adapter to standard home plug.
Power and water connections are at the back of the site and are "shared" between two sites, extra length of water hose and power may be needed to reach connection.
No sewer connection at site, "honey" wagon service available $10 per pump out.
Walking around 80 to 90% of sites are seasonal, grading of sites are needed in the area of the playground and 7 acre field, saw one that had to put in 12 to 18 inches of blocks to get level on a small TT, this only for 5 or 6 sites.
There is enough room to put ones trailer or rig parallel to the road.
Wireless service is good (VZ), no Wi-Fi.
For a holiday weekend nose level was better than expected.
Spacing is good, you will not feel that you are encroaching on the next site.
Will be coming back. - Ramcharger459
Jun 2006 - $30.00
Very nice campground for a weekend stay. We had a nice shaded spot. Would stay again; very pleasant atmosphere. Owners very helpful and courteous. - SASSY01
Aug 2017 - $20.00
We have been seasonal for 4 years and this is the last year for us. To call this a camping resort is bazaar. When it rains many sites flood along with the crater size potholes and when it's dry out, the dust is over whelming and choking. This season we have to listen to the construction vehicles all day long. I can not in all reality recommend this park to any campers. We paid $3600. for the season going to $3900. in 2018. - Kathy Coffey
May 2017 - $53.00
The camp ground is a mess. We have been coming for years, it seems to get worse. Our water spout is broken and sewer hook up was all covered up. We had to rake the site, it had a ton of thick leaves on it. Our table was all chewed up on the bench. We asked to have it switched out at 5pm and told all the workers are gone. It's too bad, it used to be nice a place. We will be giving a different camp ground our money this summer. - OScher
May 2017 - $75.00
They do have a nice list of activities for kids and adults. DJ one night with a band the second night along with hayride, which consisted of a wagon pulled by a truck, Bingo and crafts. I would estimate the campground is 90 percent permanent party campers. Leaving very few spots for weekenders. The spot they had for us was flooded with about 3 inches of water covering the entire site, so I requested a new site. After much whisper and meeting behind a closed door they said they had another site. I did make a reservation on January 25th and alerted them of the size of out camper. They drove me down to the site, which was not flooded and worked for us for the weekend, but they were very prompt to inform me that if there were no sites I wanted due to them being flooded they would not refund me my money and it was my problem. The two family pools were disgusting. Completely green is color and extremely dirty. I would not allow my son to swim in them. The water slides they had were suppose to be open from 12-3. At 12:00 only two out of the four were open for kids to go on. At 12:45 the mid sized slide opened and when we left at 1:30 the largest slide was still not open. On the next day, 3 slides were open on time and then the large slide opened at 12:30, but for only a half hour then they closed it. There had been no campground cleanup done. Piles of leaves were every where, where the campers had raked their sites, but the leaves on the campground facility had not been cleaned up at all. The playground area was almost non-usable from where they had not finished the work they had started. The site and roads were gravel, which turned to mud when it rained at all or were extremely dusty when it was dry. - tshaunb
Jun 2015 - $30.00
Basic overnight park off I-88. Narrow road within the park with some low hanging trees. Road noise. Verizon MiFi okay, but Verizon cell service was limited. Good OTA television reception. Park is overpriced at $30. - Dave51
Oct 2013 - $27.00
This is a small, quaint campground off NY7 and adjacent to I-88. The owner wasn't there at check-in but a sign directed us to pick an open spot. Being mid-October, there were plenty to chose from. While you're mainly in a grass field with seasonals occupying the outside sites, the weekenders like us had level pull-thru, shaded sites. The owner stopped by to welcome us, asked if we needed anything, and suggested sites to see and a place to eat (Gibby's, 5 mi east and recommended). He checked on us daily at 6:30pm; nice touch! The only thing from giving this a 10 is the road noise from I-88, which isn't a big deal. We will camp here again. - theheils
Jul 2013 - $27.00
Very nice family owned campground. Owner was not there when we checked in, but a note on the door told us to pick a site, which we did. Lots of green grass and trees. Site was level. Owner checked in on us later in the day. Very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. - cneeka
Sep 2010 - $20.00
No frills, just a great place. Rate shown is Passport America. Managers are great and helpful and keep the area well maintained. Has limited number sites for short term use. We would stay again. - kick
Aug 2010 - $20.00
Although this location is mostly permanent mobile homes, we always look forward to coming back to visit. Easy big-rig parking and setup (this is our third time here in 3 years), only 10 minutes from Saratoga Springs, in a nice quiet area. Not a destination park, no pool, playground, etc., but friendly, easy, convenient and flat. I wish we had planned to spend more time here this year. I'm not sure how many RV sites they have, and they don't take reservations. - melissabrvs
Sep 2018 - $30.00
This is just a nice, small and simple campground. There's no thrills, but they're not trying to charge you for thrills. You're definitely getting what you pay. Nice sites. Quiet Camping. Nice Pool. Playground area for kids. Big field for kids to play in. I guess they have activities during peak season, but we were there after Labor Day, so nothing was going on, but that was ok with us. You can certainly go with a Big Rig. We'll certainly return sometime. Best part is that it's 10 minutes from Howe Caverns. I gave this an overall rating of 10 because for what they're charging, they're giving you that all back in my opinion. - tshaunb
Aug 2018 - $40.00
Very quiet campground!! Small, only 55 sites but lovely. Great value! Don't mind the rooster, he lives on a nearby farm and crows all day but makes a good conversation starter. They were the first campground to email us a receipt following our reservation, which was awesome. Their park map is clean and easy to read. 5mph is enforced and appreciated as our little ones wandered within sight throughout the grounds. Many seasonals here but unlike other CG, weekenders mix in well. The kids LOVED the pirate ship playground. The pool looked nice but the weather didn't allow us to swim. Only negative is the water - it has a very strong odor that prompted us to use bottled water for dish washing, teeth brushing and drinking. Even showering felt wrong. I looked up the reason and couldn't find one but assumed it was sulfur well water? Not sure. But would visit again regardless. - Fab4
Jun 2018 - $32.00
Very much off the beaten path. Narrow roads to get there. Narrow entrance. There was no one next to us, but had there been we would have been looking in one another's windows. Nice enough check in. Lots of what looked like permanent residents. - cchall112
Apr 2009 - $25.00
Lovely campground and well maintained in a park-like setting. Beautiful pond with gazebo and two cascading waterfalls on site. Enclosed pavilion is centrally located which hosts covered dish suppers on all holiday weekends during the season. Waterfalls Campsite is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature. The owners/hosts will make you feel welcome and they operate this great campground with attention to every detail. If there was a better rating than 10, this campground certainly deserves it. It is definitely a 10++ for all campers and RV'ers alike. Enjoy! - tararose51
Oct 2017 - $30.00
Lovely place to stay, friendly people and owners. Dogs were allowed and nice shaded sites. - RCamping223
Aug 2015 - $24.00
Hidden Gem right off the main road. Clean, quiet, our big rig (45') fit nicely along with our towed, pet friendly as long as you pick up after them and keep your fur-baby leashed. We enjoyed the event that was held while we stayed. Friendly owner. We enjoyed our 10 night stay and will return. - PERRELLAS
