this park is maintained by the county. They do an excellent job. The people are very helpful & courteous. They even p/u your garbage daily, as a free service. The sites are sand but level, not too close. Water pressure good. When booking your stay, there is a policy about when it can be done. Suggest calling the Co. parks office & get info. Also bring your dogs vaccination info, they will ask to see a copy. - vince/chestertown

Pleasantly surprised ! I am here now first week of Aug and I would say the electric sites are about 60% filled. I am on the best pull-through #91...Super large site...Walking distance to bathroom and showers. Nice beach area, great kayaking..nearby eateries and of course the multiple vineyards and farm stands. For the non electric sites one would need to bring portable fire container. - keys4mo

We liked this park a lot, although it's different than most we stay in. The sites are spaced well apart but there are no bushes or trees to screen the sites from each other, and the park is pretty much all sand with a bit of grass here and there. This is to be expected though because this is Long Island which is all sand. The park was quite most of the weekend, but our neighbors said it can get pretty noisy during the summer months. The bathrooms are old but well maintained, and the dump station is well laid out. There's just no way to hook up a water hose for wash down. Someone said it was due to budget cuts? We'd definitely stay here again. - 2beagles

I see some pretty nasty reviews about this park on here, but i think thats from people who are used to staying at a hilton hotel. Its a campground, its got mud, its part of camping. However the staff was super nice, even when i get there at 830pm. They had an employee lead me out to my spacious spot and help me hook up my accesories. I really couldnt ask for much more at a camp site. 5 stars. - Vin

Very Nice campground. Well maintained. Very nice owners. Staff checked on us several times during our stay. Store well stocked and prices are reasonable. We stayed during the week and the campground was fairly empty other than seasonal sites. We were told that weekends are very busy. Many local attractions. Uber available if you need a ride. Would definitely stay again. Prices comparable with other nearby campgrounds. - Zman1403

Staff extremely rude. Issues with the septic system waste coming out of our septic hook up, poor dirty. Only game in town out east. Bathrooms are GROSS... They go around and tell you to shut your air conditioner off if you are not in your trailer. Do not stay here . The price is high for what you get. - Rude staff

Forward-If you are a BIG RIG and require 50amp service make sure you bring your 50amp (female) to 30amp (male) adapter. This park is situated in some of the most beautiful part of Long Island. The park is located on the Long Island sound that has its own mini beach. With in 15 minutes you can easily reach at least 4-5 beaches in the Riverhead Park System. Tip-If you buy an out of state pass for one beach it will allow you entrances into any of the other Riverhead Park System. The campground has wide open semi level pull through sites with easily accessible hookups (E-30amp, W & S). The bathrooms are "OK" they are not the best and they are not the worst. They are cleaned and maintained daily. - ETCTA

Stayed here for two days in a travel trailer. Stayed on site 48. Some leveling required. Nice hiking and biking in the area. Didn't really use restrooms but checked them out and they were clean. Site had full hook up. Stable electric and descent water pressure. Picnic table on each site. Bring your own fire ring. Sites are sort of close but not terrible. Most sites seem to be pull thru. Enough room for trailer and tow vehicle but was tight. Some sites are longer than others. North Overlook has some nice end sites with just woods next to them. - coffeebiker
Aug 2017 - $30.00
Stayed here one night. Great pull thru sites. 30 amp service and full hook up. Lots of TV stations. Bring your own fire ring and wood. Must be off the ground. Very quite midweek. Nicer RV sites on North Overlook. Hige park with many hiking and biking trails. Beach accsess. Great family campground. - coffeebiker
