This was the first park with a BWA (Boil Water Advisory) so we ran on fresh water tank for our stay. Dump station nearby - open concrete box that you dropped your hose into. Location was ok but probably should have gone further up the Bonavista Peninsula to stay closer to Trinity and Bonavista. We camped at Cabot Hi-Way RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Must go to Bonavista and the lighthouse. Trinity is developing a historical village with working cooper and blacksmith shop. We attended one of their theatrical performances and enjoyed it. Further down the road from Trinity is the "Random Passage" miniseries set that can be visited but we ran out of time.

Overall Rating:

Rate of $25.00 per night plus tax for 30 amp electric and water, no discounts offered. Park is located next to highway and road noise could be a problem for some. Roads throughout the park are gravel in fair condition with plenty of maneuvering room. Sites are located around the parameter of the property with little shade provided by the large trees on the fence line. All are back in with most sites having a pad and patio of gravel, same as road area while some have a bit of grass. Water and electric hookups are located at the left rear of the site, easily accessible and worked as designed. There is a boil water notice in effect before drinking. The park has a central sewer dump station on site that is easily accessible for all sizes and kinds of rigs. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Like most parks we have visited in Canada, this park has a large population of seasonal units occupying better (guessing) than half the sites. There is a small playground for the children and a lake fronting one side of the park for swimming, boating and fishing. There are two unisex bathroom/shower rooms that are clean and cedar wood lined (smells nice) on the back of the office. Not fancy, shower stalls are plastic residential type stalls. Office staff is friendly. Office has very small store offering a few basic supplies and firewood. Verizon and T Mobile worked well - no Sprint service. Our site had a wide open sky for satellite reception, however did have a bit of a time positioning the XM radio antennae to get a signal. This is a no frills facility, very adequate for our needs, a very fair value. We stayed 2 nights and would stay again if in the area. We camped at Cabot Hi-Way RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Lovely park on a small lake. We stayed here to tour the Bonavista peninsula. A storm was coming with high winds, so the owner placed us between two other large trailers to shelter us, thank goodness. Otherwise you could park on the lake area. We camped at Cabot Hi-Way RV Trailer Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Make sure you spend some time in Trinity - a treasure. We had a flat tire touring the Bonavista peninsula - roads pretty rough, so watch it. We must have picked up a sharp stone - totally destroyed the tire. Lucky we weren't towing at the time.

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice older campground that is VERY family oriented with many activities geared towards children. We arrived on July 4; they were having a weekend Canada 'party'...free hot dogs & cupcakes at lunch, live music, children's games, etc. In the evening, they had more live music (benefitting the Canada version of Make a Wish Foundation), a community campfire as well as fireworks over the lake. All in all a nice 'party. Yes, this park is older, but the owner/host is VERY nice & service-oriented. The sites are a little close and required a couple of orange leveling blocks--but the biggest thing to be aware of is that it is only 15amp. (Blew the breaker & owner/host nicely fixed it and showed me how to do it again if need be). The park also seems to cater to a lot of 'locals' as everyone seemed to know everyone. We camped at Cabot Hi-Way RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Many seasonal campers, but sites were neat. Wanted Wi-Fi, so got a small, tight site near the office. Wi-Fi is satellite-based, weak signal, somewhat intermittent. Nice owner/operator, but hard to find, not often in the office. Laundry is on honor system (nice), 1 washer, 1 dryer. Limited store on-site. Would likely look for somewhere else to stay in the future. We camped at Cabot Hi-Way RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 4 nights in a motorhome. Very nice park with water and electric. The wifi worked OK at our site but there were some sites where it did not work. Roads are good. Park is clean. Dump station is very convenient. They have entertainment on weekend nights during the summer. This is a nice park and we would stay here again. We camped at Cabot Hi-Way RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park. Small but neat and clean. We had a level, clean gravel site on the lake. Good consistent 30-amp service. You do not need to boil the water! Strong, fast Wi-Fi at the office. The only weak point is the "dump station". It is a large hole in the ground. We would stay here again. We camped at Cabot Hi-Way RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We camped in a 40 ft motorhome and had a pull through site in the middle of the park. Felt like we were in the middle of a wagon train. Staff was very friendly. There is a nice boardwalk trail around the park, not great for walking dogs but a great walk towards town and by the lake. Good location for the Bonavista Peninsula sight seeing. Would stay again, although the sites were a bit awkward, with grass on the hookup side and gravel as you walked out your door. We camped at Cabot Hi-Way RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Friendly staff; clean washrooms; small sites not very level; we used this as a base for Bonavista but noticed Paradise Farm Trailer Park on the way that was much closer on the main road and looked acceptable. We camped at Cabot Hi-Way RV Trailer Park in a Travel Trailer.
