Great value in Newfoundland for a non-service site. As previously mentioned this is right beside the ocean which is fabulous when the weather is nice but the winds can get very strong here. There are beautiful sunsets right out in front of you. Sites are very close together but being there late in the season the park was very quiet. We could choose where to park. This park is owned and operated by the local Lions Club. It is cash only. Wifi was very good which was great for us as we were relying on our USA AT&T phones which only work in St. John's and Corner Brook in Newfoundland! We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is right on the water with amazing views. All sites are back in 30 amp W&E. sites are closed together so if an RV caravan is in you will feel squeezed in. Wifi is located near the flag pole and works well if you're close but drops off quickly the further you move away. Winds here can be significant so watch your awnings and satellite dishes. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great park facing the ocean. 30 amp and water, they have a dump in upper parking lot. This is a Lion's club RV Park. Office help was great and very helpful. Did I mention the view couldn't have been better. Watched lobster fishermen from the front window. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Basic gravel lot right next to ocean. YES, right next to ocean. We boondocked that's why so cheap. Electric and water double that. The staff couldn't have been nicer at check-in. Gave us a short list of things to do in area. Stayed 4 days because of minor medical needs. Couldn't have picked a better spot to be slowed down in. WiFi marginal. Would definitely stay again for the view alone. It was late in year. No one else in site. The staff will come to you if not in office. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

You park in a long row facing the ocean, and when a storm arrives, it's fairly impressive. Large waves are breaking in front of you and everything is covered with a layer of ocean mist... glasses need to be cleaned frequently. The park manager is very dedicated to your satisfaction and took very good care of us. Even though there was a booking error and we had to move on our last day, he made sure that we were satisfied. Power was good and the water was not under a BWA. (Boil water advisory) We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Awesome park - local folk drive thru, but we realized quickly they wanted to show us the whales in the bay and were so helpful. There is a grocery story across the street. Awesome site; we had it all to ourselves for best part of the day. Free firewood (driftwood) and awesome views. We had no trouble with Wifi. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice enough overnight place to stay. Level back in water and electric only (30 amp only) gravel sites. There is a dump station out front. Right on the ocean with beautiful views. WIFI only works in sites 11 and 12 when full. Others can go to the office. We did not hook up to water while there but some said water pressure was low. Wind is CONSTANT AND POWERFUL, so be prepared. Lions bend over backwards to help you while there. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

We found this campground to be one of our favorites on our trip to Newfoundland this past August (2016). The office attendant couldn't have been more helpful. He knew the area and helped us so much during our visits. We look forward to staying there again. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out the rock formations on the beach and find very interesting fossils. Go to the light house and watch caribou graze right before dark. Ask attendant about a fishing guide named Vince. Foodland grocery store right across the road from the campground. Beautiful sunsets at the light house. Also chance of seeing moose there. Interesting museum.

This was by far the best place we have stayed since we arrived in NL 3 weeks ago. This campground is a gift to anyone who travels to the area. The bathrooms and showers are immaculate, very very clean. The whole area was clean and taken care of with pride by the looks of things. Checking in when we arrived was more than anyone could imagine, as the guy (walking towards us from doing his chores and offering a handshake) was not one bit shy to strangers and was also so full of information about the town and things to do, we knew this was going to be a great stay. This guy was full of so much information that we decided to extend our stay for an extra 2 nights, as he offered us but with no promises to get us fresh seafood, and he did. But he made one promise to us, and that was as he said it himself "the best WiFi in the park" and he kept that promise as it worked great. Nowhere else on the island did we enjoy our stay as much as we did here, and I would highly recommend to anyone travelling to this area to stay at this park. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here while travelling the island. Power was great, 118 volts. Great level site. Sewer dump site at entrance, with easy access. Not available at campsite.

I recommend to anyone who doesn't want the bells and whistles. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

I can't believe there were only 4 other campers here (2 RV 2 tent). Sites are level and face the Gulf of St. Lawrence. There are about 20 water/electric backin sites and about 20 un-serviced sites. There is a dumping facility. And, the Wi-Fi is free AND good (at least from my site, #10).

The only negative is that it seems the "locals" like to cruise through the park to see who is there.

BTW...cash only! We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Back your rig into one of their 28 level sites with nothing but the gulf of the St Lawrence in front of you. Besides a spectacular view, each site comes with electric/water, a picnic table and firepit ($30). Can't recall whether it is $15 or $20 for tents and dry camping. There is a dump station with black tank hose on site. The washrooms, with free hot showers, are clean. There is no laundry or recycling. Cell phone service and Wi-Fi (only in the office) are available. As the general public has access to the area on which the campground is located, you might want to consider not leaving valuables in plain view when not at your site.

The National Historic site is an easy bike ride from the campground and was our preferred way of touring the site. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Across the road from the campground is a Foodland grocery store, the largest grocery in town. In the town of Port au Choix there are few services, but the Anchor Café is highly recommended. There is also a small bakery simply called "The Bakery" that sells fresh breads, rolls, fruit pies, and various squares including excellent date squares.

Avoid Vince Atkinson and his Wind Dancer deep sea fishing; he couldn't find a fish if someone threw it in his face.

I would hardly call this a park. Simply a line of back-in hookups so each site faces the ocean, situated on the high beach below the Lions Club building. Not staffed and pretty austere, especially on a foggy, rainy day. We had a reservation without any confirmations, so we just drove on by. Not a place for us. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Truck Camper.

This park is one of our favorites in Newfoundland. All sites are back in with water and 30 amp electric. Dump station is in a convenient location. Sites are level, and there is an unobstructed view of the water from every site. It is windy at times. Wi-Fi is now available, and it worked well during our stay. We did not see the washrooms, so can't comment on that. There is almost no highway noise. We will always choose this park when in the area. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.
