One free week end pass for the zoo. Close to the zoo, K&W cafeteria and city of Asheboro. We felt like it was over priced because they did not have a room or picnic shelter for our group. Also we were not aware of any security. Had to get out of RV & walk up to the post to read site #. Need more signs. Friend went down a dead end & had to take his car loose and make a u-turn. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Currently there is only 16 site available, The owners are in a lengthy building process of this park. There is no bathroom or shower facilities currently available and full hooks ups are required. This is basically a campstore with gravel roads and 16 sites. There is a small pond on the property with trails. The nightly rate reflects a free night over the 4th of July. The park is good proximity to the zoo, and daily zoo adult admission was included with our site. The owners and staff are great people and do their best to provide a family stay. There was multiple families with children that were having a decent experience, and the park provided inflatable water slides as pool is not yet completed. The area can get dusty if it doesn't rain. Overall with the parks current lack of facilities, the owners really make sure that every one is taken care of with other activities. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The North Carolina Zoo is within 3 miles, this is the largest walkable zoo in the world. Seems many people do not know it exists. It is state owned and well maintained.

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is a brand new Jellystone under development. But don't let that stop you from booking some time here. Easy to find and roads level. Entrance clearly marked. The owners have really poured knowledge and love into the the inner roads and sites. Sites are huge with terrific drainage. Lots of young trees but no overhanging branches. They gave us a tour of the up and coming progress that is on-going but noise and equipment is well out of sight and sound. Very peaceful, yet proximity to zoo and town is excellent. We camped with friends and we both had kids of all ages, and all had a terrific time. We love the personal attention. Bonfire, movies, s'mores, hayride all on Saturday night. Activities provided during the day. Water slide, foam zone, jumping pillow, huge Gaga ball pit. Basketball, tunnel ball, large chess set, tether ball and other activities gave our kids plenty to do. Also, nice walking and biking trails. We couldn't have had a better time and will return every year. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

They gave us two free tickets for the zoo and lots of tips for visiting the zoo. Spring time is a very busy time for the NC zoo. Go early.

Overall Rating:

Although this is a brand new park and not fully developed yet, it is nice and clean, and the owners are friendly and helpful. There is no bath or shower house available yet, so you have to be self-contained. The sites are back-in and spacious. There is a giant kids bouncy balloon, but there are no lights for after dark. Right now, they are offering a free zoo ticket for each night's stay, which is why we went. We would stay here again. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a NEW park, 1st opened Memorial Day 2016. Park only partially developed at this time, and has limited number of back-in spaces available for now. This will be a wonderful park when construction is finished! And each year 2017 (more sites / restrooms & bathhouse being finished by year-end), and 2018 (pool and plans for pull-through sites to be ready). Current back-in sites have nice spacing, and privacy. All interior roads are dirt/gravel, and sites are dirt/gravel. Sites are mostly level, interior roads okay keeping in mind this is a park still being developed. On-site owners are very helpful, friendly, and their interest in making your stay positive and comfortable shows! At 45 ft and towing, interior roads are big-rig friendly, check-in was smooth and convenient. (We, of course, did have to unhook toad due to only back-in sites available. ) We will stay again and look forward to the new changes yet to come. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Asheboro, NC close by with shops / restaurants. NC Zoo 3 miles from this Jellystone. WONDERFUL ZOO is quite large, allow 2 days to see (zoo is divided into Africa and North American continents - allow 1 day each). Unique at this zoo is an 'Air Hike' interactive exhibit (added cost with zip lines, suspended cable-walks & swinging wooden step paths, etc). Very clean, walkways between exhibits mostly shaded, comfortable on a hot day -- wear comfy shoes!
