OLD, unmaintained campground. Unfriendly and unaccommodating staff. Interior roads are filled with ruts and potholes. Sites are short. Unlevel gravel with utilities in wrong locations. Water pressure is 20PSI. WIFI is only at front desk. You will need GPS to find the campground because there are ZERO road signs to guide you in. Don't arrive before 2PM because you will sit in the road at office until you can proceed to your site. We will not be back. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

Really good value. Staff was so friendly and helpful, and the bath house and laundry room was kept clean. Water pressure was good. Tent sites were relatively private compared with other area campgrounds, although could have been more separation between them. Campers were mostly families and 99% were good neighbors. There were no radios playing or anything like that which was nice. It was very quiet except for one irresponsible dog owner who let his dog bark all night long, but that was the exception - the rest were very well behaved. You have to buy their firewood - they don't allow you to bring in your own . They have a mini-zoo with alpaca and goats, etc, pond, great for kids. I highly recommend and would stay there again. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Tent.

This was our second time staying at Honeybear. We really enjoy this park and have not had a bad experience here. Our site was very spacious and private. The roads into and around the campground could use some work, but it's a minor issue for us. Honeybear has exceeded our expectations on both visits. The staff if very accommodating and the sites are well spaced. We will return to Honeybear Campground! We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This little park is in the city limits of Boone but you wouldn't know it because we did not hear any of the traffic below as we were up on top of a tall hill. The road was not bad and we didn't have any trouble pulling our 32 foot trailer up it. There was a bubbling stream behind our campsite and it was quiet peaceful. The Staff was very helpful and we stayed a couple of nights. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Staff was very accommodating, we expected to arrive late, and called ahead to make sure that wasn't an issue. They said our reservation info would be taped on the door, and if we needed anything, to call or text the number on the form. The roads in the campground were fine for my Jeep and pop-up, but I can see where the mansions on wheels would have issues.

We had a site in C loop, toward the end and had plenty of room. It was level side to side, and I had no issue leveling front to rear. The water pressure was good, and the electric pedestal was new, as were others I saw in the campground. The spots were well shaded, and nice, though the big rig areas had no privacy...another reason not to have a big rig!

Didn't try the WiFi, we went to escape. The coffee house was nice, and kids activities were nice as well. The bathhouses were in need of updates. The water was hot, and the fixtures were clean, but there were cobwebs on the ceiling, and the outlets were not working. Not the worst I have ever seen, but not the best, either. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Arrived to office only to find it closed and our site pass taped to the door. 1st night could not get TV to work and needed cable box like the last time we stayed there. Next day the lady at the office tells me they no longer have cable TV. No apology just a cold -just use your computer. Guest what, the WiFi cuts you off every few minutes. They did not tell me they no longer have cable but are quick to take your credit card. We will no longer come here. The place has gone to the skip it list. Office has few to no supplies but plenty of expensive fire wood. Shame shame. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I made reservations to stay at Honey Bear for three nights in July, and had to change them to the next week. There was no problem in doing this. When we arrived at the campground, after driving on a very winding, somewhat narrow road, we were immediately disappointed in the appearance of the campground. The website says the campground is three miles from Boone, but the winding road makes it somewhat inaccessible, especially for large rigs. The pictures on the website look much better than the actual place. The website also shows pictures of each individual campsite and gives dimensions. What the pictures don't show is the close proximity to the other campsites and how narrow the road is in area A. We did walk around and look at the other areas, and the sites in area B were not as close and were a little larger. I did pick our spot, A 11, due to availability online. We found the campground was lacking in overall maintenance. The electric pedestal at our site was coming apart and was a hazard. The site was also very uneven and not level, as many of the sites were. This can be helped with blocks, but we don't tow and drive our RV in and out quite often, so we would have to level it each time. It took us 15 min. to level it the first time! We decided not to stay three nights and told the front office who passed this on to the owner. Good business practice is when a customer has a complaint or problem, the first response should be "what can we do to make this right?". They could have offered another space if one was available. The owner did nothing to help the situation, and would not refund two nights, as according to their policy. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

I wanted to stay here because it was secluded and quiet. The sites in the C-loop by the stream are "TIGHT". We tried several times to get my 29' travel trailer in the spot and was unable to back it in. The staff helped but we we could not make the turn to cut the trailer in. The staff was very helpful and stayed past closing to 1) try to help us get in 2) to allow us to cancel the reservation since they did not have any other spots open for the 7 days we needed. I would use the campground if I had a smaller travel trailer, pop-up, or small motorhome. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived at Honey Bear Campground for Memorial Day weekend. We made reservations 2 months in advance and received site C-7. First impression was rather sad, we knew we were in trouble when their sign was being held together by a ratchet strap. When we arrived they made us wait for 2 hours to check in. Once we were allowed to go to our site we were faced with a site that was barely accommodating for our 27' TT. My hitch was barely out of the road and my back bumper was hovering over the fire pit (making it unusable). The electrical hook up was missing spacer and blanks allowing for exposed electrical parts to possibly be contacted. Cable TV was advertised on the website and on the packet that was given to us at check in. We hooked up to the dilapidated hook up that was there and no cable. Wifi was terrible, and had no water for 2 hours after set up. When the camper arrived for site c-6 I could sit on my couch and touch his awning. Spoke to Management and they said they could not move us even though a unit half my size came in about an hour later and set up in a site twice the size of mine. Next spoke to an owner who basically told us if we didn't like it we could leave. So we packed up our camper and found a much nicer campground a few miles down the road. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Travel Trailer.

No Noise, Friendly Host, Love The Setting. The Cable TV about drove us nuts, worked or did not work. you never knew from one minute to the next if you would have a picture. NOTE: They are doing a lot of upgrading in the campground. We will be happy to camp there the next time we are in Boone. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Travel Trailer.

In spite of torrential rains, our site (C-4) never flooded. The WiFi was spotty. it was steady when it worked, but it was too weak to connect to two of the six days we were there. The roads were rutted from the rain, and the sites a little less level than I'd like. I was able to level the motorhome using leveling blocks and the jacks, and all four wheels still touched ground. Gravel sites. The sites aren't big, but certainly adequate and not shoved together. There is no store and the office and coffee shop had odd and sparse hours. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, from check-in through the entire stay. We wil probably stay here again. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

Very quiet campground. We stayed here while visiting local attractions like Tweetsie Railroad and Blowing Rock. Campground was clean and well kept. They had video games and movies on Friday/Saturday. They were also giving out free root beer floats and vanilla lattes. The only issues we had was that our site was not exactly level and narrower than expected. They had a ton of magnolia trees providing lots of shade. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

We have been RVing in North Carolina for the last four years and our trips always include stays at Honey Bear Campground. The length of our stay has grown increasingly longer, from one week up to four months, so it is clear that we really enjoy Honey Bear! The setting is beautiful with lots of trees and a pretty mountain stream. It is very quiet and you really feel like you are away from all the hustle and bustle, though it is a short drive to all the conveniences the area has to offer. There are many great things to do in the area from driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway to hiking the trails to visiting the nearby wineries. The staff at Honey Bear is always very pleasant and they go out of their way to be helpful. The facilities are always sparkling clean. The coffee shop is great. Internet access is provided at the campsites. There is plenty of space for kids to run, while still allowing for quiet areas at the campsites. There are lots of weekend activities to keep the quests entertained. We love Honey Bear and can’t wait for our annual return. We camped at Honey Bear Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
