We stayed two nights in 40 foot fifth wheel. Front office staff were friendly and check-in process was simple. The park is off the highway in a small town and navigation to/from and within the park was fine. Park seems to cater to full-time and/or seasonal residents with little focus on the short term traveler...nothing wrong with that, just saying. They have some really nice sites that are set into the woods and some that have a nice view of the valley in the back of the park. However, the site we were in was recently vacated by a long-term resident and it was a hot mess. We had to get out and move his cinder block braces before we could pull into the drive. We also had to move some wooden border pieces. The drive was barely wide enough for our rig and sloped off severely to the left with large rocks. You had to stumble over those rocks to do your hookups. On the plus side, the site was super long so you could park any length rig in that area. It was a nice walk around the park and folks were friendly. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

There is a local wine festival the third Saturday of May and of September. The park provides shuttle service. Pretty nice idea I think.

Small campground great for families for a few nights. We stayed in site 1 which was great. Staff was super friendly. They're “paved” the road through the campground while we were there which was annoying but it needed to be done and looked great afterwards. The putt putt course wasn’t very appealing to the eye but played just as good as a brand new one. My biggest complaint was the price.. $50 per night was a little much for the size/amenities offered. They are adding several sites to this campground and the new part looks like the sites will be much nicer than the existing ones. However, for the next few years those will not have much shade until the trees grow taller. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The staff was very nice. Getting out was a challenge, as the exit route was very narrow. They did not have cable and even though they claimed to have WiFi, it did not work. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Motorhome.

When we arrived and was told it was $45 a night I was shocked and was expecting this place to be nicer than a beautiful new state park campground. The road is horrible! Very tight with tight curves and pot holes. The sites are very uneven and right next to long term campers with all there junk. We moved to another campground the next morning. I wouldn't have minded it so much if the price was more reasonable. The owners are very nice. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

When we made reservations, I specifically requested a site where we could get satellite because they have no cable. We were told we'd have a nice long site in the open. When we arrived, we were told they had to switch our site because the previous guests had problems leveling. We were given their unlevel site and told we could move in 2 days when they left. Site 19 was extremely difficult to level our coach. We had to use a couple of boards to keep the wheels from lifting off the ground. We moved to site 44 after the others left but still had problems leveling and the satellite reception was spotty because of the trees. The exit road has some deep ruts and tight turns. It's unfortunate, because the office staff/owners? were extremely friendly and helpful. If we return to this area we will look for another park. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Trips to nearby vineyards are a must. Visit Shelton Vineyards and eat at the Harvest Grill on the grounds. Excellent food but a bit pricey. If we return to the area we will definitely return to the Harvest Grill.

The staff and owner were helpful and pleasant. The park is in a rural area, with lots of wineries in the area. The park roads are gravel as are the sites. Where you park your rid is narrow but the sites are nicely staggered so you don't feel too close to your neighbor. This is not a fancy park but a nice spot to stay and wander the area for few days. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We chose this park because it was close to the Yadkin valley wine region. Check-in was easy and quick. The owners are very helpful with information on local area attractions. Wi-Fi is available, but we didn't use it. Some TV channels were available with antenna, unless you had satellite. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The shower stalls have average room for changing. Many of the sites are shaded with mature hardwood trees. All of the sites are gravel and ours required extensive leveling. Sites have fire pits and the park sells firewood. Boonville is 2 miles south of the campground and has a small grocery store. We would stay here again if we come back to the area. The Yadkin valley wineries are the biggest draw in the area. Mount Airey, NC, north of Boonville, is famous for being Andy Griffith's "Mayberry" and is worth a visit.

We spent a couple nights here in July, and were very pleased with the place. It's an older campground, but it is very well kept and very clean. The site are large and shaded, water, sewer and cable worked fine. WiFi worked really well also.

The bath house is older, but in great working order with plenty of hot water. It also was very clean, and well lit so it's easy to find late at night.

Fire wood here is a bargain! $14 gets you a trailer like you pull behind a lawnmower completely full of wood.

The mini golf course is older, but still a lot of fun for kids and adults. The office has basic camping supplies, a game room, and a laundry area that were also very well kept.

Staff were very friendly, and were constantly in motion around the grounds, offering a hand, or cleaning.

WiFi coverage was very good throughout the park, I saw several repeaters installed on service buildings. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Tent Trailer.

We arrived to stay only 3 nights but enjoyed ourselves at this campground so much that we added two more days. Staff were warm in their welcome and their help. The grounds are extremely well cared for, wide and spacious. Their is a large covered open aired pavilion, pool, play room with games and a small store. A trail access for hikers. Very friendly welcome that carried through during our weekend stay. Older facilities, but pleasant, peaceful atmosphere and hands-on family management. Great Yadkin Valley location for visiting some terrific wineries. Nice wooden decks at the sites. Got major TV channels with our antenna, and no problem picking up 3G for my iPad signal. Would return in future. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful, large campground with a helpful and friendly staff. Easy six miles off I-77. Well kept and easy to get in and out with large MH. Only suggestion to make it better would be hotter water in showers, as we stopped here on our way south. Definitely would return. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Motorhome.

It's our family's favorite getaway for more than 10 years. Kid friendly, pet friendly, activities include gameroom, borrowing magazine/book/video library, coin laundry, general store, swimming pool, puttputt, shuffleboard, horseshoes, Yadkin river canoeing, playground, volleyball, basketball. Shady sites, no mud, patios at most sites, firepits, propane refills onsite. Weekend activities like karaoke, bingo, bands, covered dish dinners, trick or treating, golf cart parades. Now that our children are older, we enjoy the relaxation at Holly Ridge. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great campground for families or couples. The family that owns this campground takes pride in providing a fun, friendly atmosphere, great service and very clean bathrooms. We stayed here on Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed an ice cream party and tie-dying t-shirts. There is also a hiking trail from the campground to the Yadkin River. The campsites are mostly shady. Some sites are a little small, but a few have been expanded by the addition of decks for picnic tables. Though the campground was quite full this weekend, nights were quiet. There is much to do in this area as well. Wineries, restaurants, Pilot Mountain, Mt. Airy and Winston-Salem are within easy driving distance. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Tent Trailer.

After reading previous reviews, we selected this campground during a visit to the Mount Airy area. We, unfortunately, were a bit disappointed. The sites were certainly secluded and wooded but other than the pull through sites in the middle, they were tight, not level, and difficult to get into. We had to try three times to find someone at the office to pay but when we did they were extremely nice. The thing that bothered us the most were what appeared to be the permanent units that seemed overrun the place. These were not the snowbird type setups, these were campers (some pretty nasty looking) that appeared as if the owners actually lived there full time and went to work during the day. The site across from us sported a large diesel utilities truck that fired up promptly at 6am to go to work for the day (waking us all up I might add). Overall, the feeling of the place was a bit seedy. We shortened our planned stay and moved on to another campground nearby. Now to be fair, we did stay during the "off" season so maybe it is a completely different place during the prime season. It just wasn't the family friendly, activity filled place we read about. We would consider staying there again during the summer months when there would be more kids there and the pool would be open. We camped at Holly Ridge Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.
