Nov 2018 - $35.00
We had reservations at a State Recreation Area for a family Thanksgiving visit in nearby Cary, but got a call the day before our arrival telling us that the campground was flooded and our reservation was cancelled. A quick search revealed only a couple of nearby alternatives. I called Goodwin’s and talked to the owner who said he would be able to find a place for us. The campground is in a beautiful wooded area and he met us on the main road at the entrance to guide us to our campsite. Really nice guy who stuck around just long enough to make sure that our connections were working properly. It’s a very small campground and it’s cash only. Picnic table and a fire ring with full hookups on a nice level spot. And it’s so quiet and peaceful. Things work out for the best sometimes and although we were looking forward to camping at the State Park, I’m very glad we ended up here instead and will stay here again the next time we’re in the area... - RollingPhone

The owner is one of the nicest, most helpful people we have come across. We stayed 5 nights. Even though he was on vacation himself, he called us, as we were arriving and guided us to the right spot. We forgot part of our sewer hose when we left. He called and then drove nearly 20 miles to return it to us. The grounds are nice and very quiet. This was the best we could find in the area and we are really glad we chose this park. We highly recommend it. - Frank and Pam Lee

Beautiful park set in the woods. It was quiet, clean and very well kept. There is a lake on the property. Owner very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Wonderful place close to Jordan Lake Boat access. - Roe1

Jul 2013 - $12.00
This is a small, very peaceful park; one of those parks you are comfortable in from the start. The tenants, owners, and park employees were nice and helpful. Many of the tenants are workers at the local nuclear plant, and generally stay a month-or-more. The $12 rate reflects the monthly rate. We were charged $25 extra for water usage because we had/used our own board washer and dryer. There are no pads or patios; something for which I lower my rating. Many of the lots are not completely level; I had my front wheels almost off the ground, but a park employee had a wooden step there almost before I shut my engine off. US-1 highway is close, but not a factor. I would recommend this park. - carderh
Nov 2011 - $25.00
As others have noted, the owner of this campground is exceptionally nice. He was very distraught that we had to use a less attractive site because they were booked solid the day we arrived. We weren't nearly as upset about it as he was. The CG is in a rural setting surrounding a pond. The sites and roads are gravel; they are fairly narrow and had limited area for sitting outside. There are tall trees all around the CG, but no trees in the sites themselves; satellite TV reception should be easy from most sites. Verizon service was fairly strong. - docj

It has been a pleasure staying at Jordan Dam RV Park. The grounds are very well maintained- grassy meadows, a new pond with a pier, big shady oaks and friendly people. The owners, are the most down-to-earth friendly hosts you will ever meet- they even helped us set up our camper! We have never experienced better service. We love the convenience to the lake and the quiet country setting. The sound of crickets and frogs are the perfect backdrop for an evening outside. We definitely have plans to return to this campground. In our opinion it is heads above the others in the area- just check it out for yourself and you'll see why. - AreV

Apr 2017 - $11.00
This park (and my review) does seem oriented toward longer stays but Cotten's rents for day, week or month. Rate above was based on $325/month. We needed a place for a few months, fairly close to Raleigh/Cary and Sanford. It is a small, friendly, family owned park - well maintained with good gravel roads and easy access to US-1. We had a site with a nice wooded view and away from the highway The site was level. Hookups are convenient and well maintained. There are long term campers here but everything is clean and neat. Set your expectations. We were looking location and price, not a resort or amenities, so Cotten's fit the bill perfectly. Owner or his son will even fill your empty propane tank if you set it in front of the trailer! Easy access from exit 79 or 78. We called on our way in, so one of the family met us and helped with parking and setup! I strongly recommend calling in advance, and when you are close. - Wayward

Sep 2018 - $20.00
This is a State Park local to us between Durham and Wake Forest. Offers multiple swim beaches, with boat ramps if you are so inclined. The last weekend we spent was very quiet, with plenty of privacy from neighboring sites. I think site 92 where we stayed is listed as 105 feet, felt like I was backing up forever. Not all are that big but there are definitely big rig friendly sites. 30 amps and water, with a dump station towards the entrance. Some of the sites do have a little bit of a grade to them, either down or up when you are backing in, so be prepared for that. - K-G
Aug 2018 - $20.00
Reserved for 7 days. Had a 38 ft 5th Wheel. We were aware that only 30 amp service available. Experienced in conserving power, used only one AC and one lamp, occasional TV. Within 1 hour, we had lost power multiple times. Could not make contact by phone with any employees in park. Drove to entrance gate 3 times; maintenance came and advised nothing they could do, our loop was "worst loop and notorious for losing power". Temp was 95 degrees. Second day was worse, lost power every 15 minutes, again forced to drive to look for maintenance. They advised no other sites were available. We were down to one small electric fan and night light. Decided to spend day away from camper for relief; returned home to find no power. It's after hours, no help to be found. Third morning, still no power. Talked to neighbors who were experiencing same problem. Finally had to call the NC State Reservation System because there is NO way to contact anyone in management at park without driving to hunt them down. The reservation clerk said he was "so sorry we were having difficulty and No Refunds for early departure." I told him we could stay in a Walmart parking lot for free and have as good a service as they were providing. He transferred me, at my demand, to a consumer complaint lady who once again said " no, we don't give refunds". After a very heated discussion she said well I'll open a case for review and if you leave you might not have to pay for remaining days. I told her that wasn't going to work and I would challenge the charge to my credit card. So, long story short...this park is continuing to rent sites that they are aware are not up to par, could possibly cause electrical fires and take your money. Maintenance says State Govt has allocated 2 million to upgrade electric but can't be used until 2020. Stay away...beware...protest and complain. No Power Available for entire stay !! I agree with the concept of natural beauty in state parks, but the grass and vines and weeds were out of control here. We relocated to a State Fairgrounds Campground; $30 night, full hookups, great staff!! To be continued! - Gypsy Spirit 1954
Apr 2018 - $21.00
Stayed in Holly Point Loop 3, site 87. Cost is usually: $24.00 per night + a reservation fee of $6.00 (for entire stay). We got a $3/nt military discount to = $21. Great RV site, nice and spacious! It was gravel but level, lots of space between sites with trees, picnic table, and fire ring (ashes had been totally cleaned out w/leftover logs set aside. Nice!). There's alot of room for lounging. Good channel selections with antenna. No wi-fi available but good signal with AT&T. No sewer hook-up but the dump station depot has 2 areas to use and is roomy. Water pressure just ok. One issue though! Since there's no sewer hook-up, in order to keep our grey tank from filling up, I thought I'd use the shower at the park bathrooms. These were fairly clean but a little old. The showers, however, were terrible! First of all, there's no heat (or cooling for summer) in the building so it was cold in there. The shower stalls have no privacy to change clothes by the bench outside the wet area; only a curtain for the shower area itself. The shower is one of those old-timey push button ones but the water doesn't stay on! The water comes out for literally one second! Then you have to keep pushing it every second. And the water is cold and never warms up (how can it when the flow is interruped every other second???). So I gave up & took a brief (but warm) shower in our trailer. - new FL camper

Oct 2017 - $17.00
This is a great small camp ground that I was very lucky to find. I stayed here for a month while I was looking for a new house (We moved from FL to NC) and we were charged $500 for 30 days for a full hook up site. The owners were very friendly and the location was beautiful. Plenty of space to pull my 31' Travel Trailer thru. They were running low on sites with full hook ups as it seems not all the sites have sewage hook ups but the location I had was great. Call and speak with the management and reserve your spot before you get there to ensure you have full hook ups! - ABNChemo

Very nice, quiet country setting . Owner was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. - Jan Griff
Jan 2016 - $34.00
Lovely mountain farm and woods setting with horses and a fishing pond, this campground is home to Bluegrass Music Festivals on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. Owners were friendly, did offer to help us park. We had a back-in site on a hill side that sloped and we didn't have enough blocks to fully level. We did not use the bathrooms or showers. - Mom_of_Two

May 2017 - $20.00
Cash only! This campground didn't accept credit cards so be prepared. It's a basic campground; entirely graveled and reasonably level but you may still need to level your rig. It looks like most folks are long-term but they are quiet and pretty nice. The utilities work and are gathered near the power pedestal. This campground serves a need but it's not what I would call a destination. - KC8RXQ
Apr 2017 - $20.00
We stayed here for a quick 2-night trip to the Raleigh area. It was easy to get in and out of. When we arrived, we went to the big red barn assuming there would be an office there - just restrooms and laundry. The host came driving up on a golf cart because she had been watching for us and directed us to our site which was an easy pull though and very level. The sites are just long enough for the trailer, but they were very wide so we were able to park beside it. We weren't there much except to sleep so can't comment about amenities. - mmhopper
Apr 2016 - $20.00
Nice level sites, good power, water and sewer hookups. Manager very friendly and helpful. Sites are very wide. Actually the widest sites that I have encountered. If in area would most definitely stay again. - Peter4r
