The park has about recovered from the hurricane damage last year. The pool is open. The camp store is on the verge of opening. The staff is friendly and efficient responding promptly to issues in the park. There are many sites occupied by semi-permanent dwellings used as weekend retreats for folks from the big city - Greenville. The roads are a mix of gravel and dust. It can be dusty. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Bath, NC, is nearby - where Blackbeard died. Greenville is just down the road - the big city. New Burn, a charming small city, is nearby.

Pretty full of full timers and winter snow birds down from the north. FHU sites; water quality was good and strong; electric good as well. No cable but TV Antenna coverage is good; Verizon coverage is good. Pull through and back-in sites with adequate room for both trailer and truck. As they flooded last year from the hurricane, the pool and club house were closed for renovation. They had one bathhouse open. Playground for the children and a dog park. Right on a peninsula with open access; lots of people with boats and docks. Three lakes to fish in and walk around. On the other side of the waterway are more RV sites and small manufactured houses. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

For us, Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort was a place to spend a cool and damp evening in early March. My guess is that most folks who visit this huge and popular RV park love it, while others (overnighters) find it just OK. The full-timer areas were very attractive: e.g., spacious Big Rig sites and lots of well-cared-for, small, manufactured, mini-homes line the park's canals and probably serve as wonderful weekend get-a-ways. Our full-service over-nighter's site was pull-thru, with a dirt/gravel pad that was mostly level, and set in a stand of tall trees. For us, our site, as well as the dozen or so sites in our loop were over-priced and unremarkable. Would we return? Perhaps! But, only if we had a permanent site set along one of the park's attractive canals. And, a fishing boat. Note: Bath houses and restrooms were clean. Our Verizon hotspot showed 2/3 bars. Tall trees prevented us from setting up our DISH satellite. We didn't try to log into OTA TV channels. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The roads into the park are good. It is a gated park. If no one is at the gate, check the mailbox for check-in information. Roads in the park have some pot holes. Office was closed so we checked in the next morning which was fast and friendly. There is a store with basic needs, a game room, pool and playground. This is a large, well maintained park with one section for full timers. There are two lakes and canals. We were in Site 18 which is a level pull through with full hook ups. The sewer drain was clogged but they came and cleaned it out. Site is average width, level and had a picnic table. It was plenty long enough for our 37-foot Class A, tow-dolly and parking the car. The laundry room and bathrooms are clean. Lots of places to walk your dog, but no dog park. WiFi was an extra fee. We did not use it and this iswhy we gave it a 9 star instead of 10 star rating. Our Verizon signal was strong. We stayed May 13-20, 2018 and paid $43.00 a night with our Good Sam discount. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Huge park with mostly full time residents. It not near anything as far as sigh s go, but a good rest spot. Staff could do a better job cleaning up sites. People had moved out of the site next to where we were to be. I cleaned up piles of junk out of our site only to find out we could t get into our site due to trees too close to pullout. Bathrooms, laundry and pool all clean. There is a game room for kids also. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 1 night. Lots of seasonal/permanents. Park was clean and well maintained. Sites were dirt, shady, pull thru and big rig friendly. We were just passing through during the week, so really can't comment on the atmosphere when it's busy. Staff was friendly and accommodated our request to move to a "true" pull in site. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is okay. Pool is great but really packed on weekends. There is a separate area for full timers and waterways to the bay. Store is well equipped for mi or items. Our site was difficult to get into and full of tree roots. The escort let us take the next spot over. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We were not impressed! We have stayed before under different management and although new management is trying, it is a long way from good. Lots are very close, ranging from sunny/open exposures to some shade. Site surface is a concrete pad with dirt, sand and grass. There is a picnic table.

When we arrived, we had advised them of a 3-4 month stay. When we went to pay for our third month, we had been advised that the site had been rented out to someone else the next day. Initially an alternative site was not offered but after some strong words and 6 hours later, we were given a different site and an apologetic discount for the inconvenience. (This was the Thursday of the July 4th weekend-just try finding another park.)

We were religiously forgotten for sewer pump outs, even though regularly added to the list.

We also found out that we were moved because a full timer on the hill (permanent sites) complained about the noise of the truck (HDT) and really wanted us gone from the park. New management does not run the park. The hill residents on Paradise Island do, as well as the maintenance manager who oversees the pumping, etc.

The weekly Saturday night DJ or Band is a little noisey. Much better when it is once a month. Some full timers actually go elsewhere for Saturday night so they can sleep.

The store staff and housekeeping staff are great. Still major flooding with lots of rain.

This park is not friendly to HDTs (converted tractor trailer type trucks for pulling 5th wheels). Will not return: will park at Walmart first. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Under even newer management since our last visit. Much cleaner, but still no scattered trash cans- just the parks dumpsters which have been increased in number. Security has been increased (a good thing). Roads are still dirt and could probably be upgraded to gravel but dirt is still good. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Less than 10 miles in either direction ( Chocowinity and Washington) to grocery stores, small shops, hairdressers, fuel. PARK has propane. 30 minutes away is a larger shopping community (Greenville).

We stayed here to be close to family. The park is very large and has a lot of seasonal campers. Easy access to the Interstate. Very easy in and out of the park. They assigned us site B-4, but it was very tight. The gentleman that escorted to our site knew we would not fit, so we asked to be moved to B-5. That was not a problem. The campground was pretty empty because it was so early in the season. I am not sure how easy it would have been to be moved if the campground was fuller. Our site was grass and pine needle covered and large tree roots, but level. Good electricity and water pressure. There is a lot to do in the area. New Bern, NC is about 35 minutes. Very historic. Rocky Mount is a little over an hour drive. The Prime Smokehouse downtown is very good. Greenville is close, Sam Jones BBQ is some of the best around. If in the area again, we would probably stay here. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Good sized park, very woodsy. Store staff friendly and polite, management abrupt and sometimes rude. Park was not as well kept as it was during a stay same time in 2013. Litter, dead limbs hanging in trees, and not all animal owners were responsible for pickup. Several low sites that flood easily--poor drainage. Probably due to wetness, lots of insects--mosquitoes and fleas. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice park but their roads are horrible. They have a security gate and a very nice entrance but then after we checked in, we had to go down dirt, pothole roads to get to our site. We will not return here again. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

This campsite is terrible. If I could have given it a zero I would have done so. I booked this site some months before for one night in May and paid in full. Arrived at 6:05 pm and found campground closed. Tried using button on barrier to call someone, but no response. It turns out they close up shop at 5pm. Whilst doing this, a truck drove up, opened the barrier with a card and drove in. Another camper spotted our plight and let us in with his card. He pointed out the truck which had gone in was actually a camp employee. Our Good Samaritan pointed out he frequently had to let campers in who arrived after the management went home at 5pm. Notice though, the website claims they are open until 8pm. We parked up on one of the few pitches which was not flooded, and drove out next morning, the place still closed. Clearly the security is also very lax, as nobody checked up on us at any time. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

OK park. Very pretty setting. Lots of trees. Not much chance of satellite TV but antenna worked good for local channels. No one at entry gate so we had to call somewhere and they opened the gate remotely. Then drive down a long driveway with several brutal speed bumps. The gal in the office was friendly and young and seemed to be more interested in the conversation between 2 guys at the next counter than in checking us in. Told us our site number and waved her arm around in the direction we were supposed to go. No park map, no paperwork at all. We were assigned a spot in the "D" row. We found it OK but had to stop and scratch our heads for a moment trying to decide the best way to pull in. It was a pull through, but there are so many trees in that row. We had to pull across the back end of the site next to us. If someone had been parked there, not sure how we would get parked. That row is right next to a stagnant pond that is covered with furry algae and some kind of bug had hatched and totally enveloped the coach and our Jeep. We literally had to swat our way in and out of the vehicles. The next day we asked to move. Another person at the counter gave us several empty spots to pick from. Moved to the "B" row and no bugs. Not much to do in the area unless you are into boating and/or fishing. Would stay here again for an overnight. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Rate is special per week for Thousand Trails members. Very friendly staff. Season does not start until mid April, so pools were not open and campground was somewhat uncared for. Free tour of Boat factory across the street. Sewer is via underground tanks due to high water table and tanks sometimes overflow. New roads in vicinity, so if coming from the south via GPS be sure to get off Hwy 17 onto Bus 17 at Chocowinity or you will miss the park. We camped at Twin Lakes RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.
