So far on our trip around the US, the odometer has rolled over 6500 miles, and we've stayed in 49 different RV parks, campgrounds or resorts. Raleigh Oaks now takes over the #1 ranking for us. On the 1-10 scale, it rates at least a 15 in our book. Wide, extra long graveled pull-throughs, small trees and shrubs at each site, 30-ft of grass between each site(with a picnic table and fire ring), and all of it maintained with military like spit-and-polish precision. Interior roads are gravel as well, but laid out so that big rig maneuvering is easy. Hook-up pedestals are located about midway in each site. Water pressure is 80psi so you'll need a pressure reducing valve. There are amenities aplenty...2-swimming pools, a spa, 18 private bath suites, fitness center, mini-golf, pickleball and billiards plus an event center. This would be a great place for whatever RV group you belong to to hold a rally. There are enough things to do in the area to keep lots of folks busy for days on end. The one mistake we made in scheduling our stop here - we only allotted time for an overnight stay. Shoulda planned for several more days! We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We have usually stayed at the fairgrounds near Cary when we visit Raleigh & this was a wonderful treat compared to the fairgrounds. Very convenient location off of I-95 but far enough away from road noise. Resort has two swimming pools & other things for children to do. This was our first time to stay here & will definitely return. So glad we found it. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Gorgeous place! They call it a "resort," not a "park" and for good reason. Everything is manicured perfectly with flowers, trees, an American flag on every light pole. Two pools and one of the pools has a covered patio, lounges and glass-top tables with colorful umbrellas. There is an area where there are about a dozen picnic tables with umbrellas. There are many bathrooms and each has it's own entry door to the outside. They are sparkling clean. No code. The cable works great. I wish we could have stayed for a month! This is our first time camping here with our 35' travel trailer. The office closes at 5PM during the week and we arrived at 7PM on a Thursday for a 4 night stay. They have a late arrival desk near where you pull up to the park entrance. They marked out a site map with the best way to approach your site clearing marking your site location on the map. They assigned us site #514 which was a pull-thru. The site was 30/50AMP FHU and long enough for my 35' TT, a small car parked up front and my F-250 crew cab long bed parked in the back. We has plenty of room without have either vehicle sticking out into the road for someone to hit it. The streets are wide and the turns can be easily maneuvered with a larger rig. The WIFI is great and performed well allowing my FireStick TV to stream TV shows without buffering. We also have a small OTA antenna that we use for parks without strong WIFI signal. The OTA antenna picked up 16 strong digital channels from the local stations. The cellular signal is strong as well if you have a mobile hotspot. The owners and staff are super nice and easy to deal with. They have free waffles starting on Friday for the weekend so that was nice. They also have two pools, mini golf and small tennis court. If you're looking for shade trees like in a state park, then this is not the place for you. We like that but we really like this park too. We will be returning soon! We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

For some good NC BBQ and seafood, turn right out of the campground and go about 2 miles down the road and visit a family run restaurant called Holt Lake BBQ and Seafood. Family style is all you can eat fried chicken, NC BBQ and the fixins. You can add seafood option for fried shrimp and flounder and yes it's Good and reasonably priced!!! The Carolina Premium Outlet Mall is two exits down off I95 if you want to do some shopping while you're here.

This is a very well organized and maintained RV park. This was our first time staying there and chose it because it was close to home and we were shaking down the trailer after dewinterizing it for the season. We chose a "premium" site since we weren't familiar with the park, but wouldn't do it again. These are located at the front of the park and since there are a large number of permanent residents, you get a LOT of loud truck traffic starting at 0400 heading out to work. Even being careful, they are loud as they passed directly behind our trailer. Just the nature of location where all roads out converge by the end premium sites. It wouldn't be as bad further up in the park in the transient spots. Great facilities and staff was helpful. We would stay here again with location and experience in mind. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This was a one-night stop for us heading north after the winter season in the Southeast. It is an easy stop off I-95. I believe all the sites are pull-through. There are quite a few sites here and a lot of longer-term residents, but the transients are put near the front and fairly close to the bathhouse and office. The pool was not open while we were there. In spite of the proximity to I-95, the campground was pretty quiet. Sites were level, restrooms / showers were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again for an overnight or two. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This RV park is good for an overnight stop. We had to park close to the grass because the site could use some leveling out; which the days we were there were rainy and extremely muddy getting in and out of the RV. We used the laundromat which was average. On the morning that we were suppose to leave, the office called half an hour early from check out to make sure we were not staying for another day because they did not see us moving around at our site. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The prior reviews are right on point.. the place is great. We visited with our local chapter of Airstream club and used the large meeting room, pickleball courts (which we were told by someone that play a lot of pickleball are first rate courts) the rackets and balls were OK more for lots of usage vs good quality but OK. We were their the weekend of Nov 10 and the pools/ hot tubs were closed and covered for winter. They do have ping pong table, putt putt course, 9 holes and very different layout, nice private bathhouse feature with showers etc. the sites are large and mostly flat. The gravel roadways could use some potholes filled, at least on the "300" spots road, but overall a nice place abet somewhat pricey. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Nice park with many well maintained sites; all were gravel, and all seemed level. The little carriage lights on the electric posts were a nice touch, especially if you arrive after dark, as we did. The CG offers discount meals and free waffles occasionally (check the calendar on their website) in their rec room. They have a pool (closed in November), small putt-putt course, playground and basketball court, none of which we used, as we were just stopping overnight while traveling. It's clear the management is trying to make this park almost a destination in itself, with lots of amenities and activities. It would be a great place to spend a few days, especially with children. We paid for a premium pull thru ($55/night minus 10% GS discount), and we were assigned Site number 1 which was immediately next to the common buildings, so there was a lot if foot traffic exiting the spaghetti dinner when we got there. It was not especially noisy, just normal walking past the RV talking. All of the single digit (premium?) sites are close to the main facilities (pool, playground, rec room) and offices. Some folks might like that , but we'd have preferred a site a little farther from all that. Walking around the CG in the morning, I saw several sites in the 400's and 300's (308, 309, 409, etc.) that were pull through and looked every bit as nice as ours in the front of the campground. I dont know if those are cheaper, but next time, I plan to request that area. One caveat - they don't refund your deposit if you cancel for any reason. I experienced that on an earlier trip. Yes, that policy is clearly stated on their web site. But as mentioned, there were several sites available on a Friday in November. So consider the risk of losing your deposit against the risk of not getting a site. We would definitely stay here again. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Great park. Stayed here a couple of years ago and it was nice, but since then they have improved the park even more with neatly landscaped grounds and neatly groomed RV sites. Park paths and sites are rock with wood borders. Easily accessible hook-ups. This park really goes out of the way to serve the campers. They provided Hamburger Steak, gravy, onions, green beans Thursday night $3.00 per plate; happy hour for adults Friday night with complimentary beer, wine and snacks; hamburger, hotdogs, chips and lemonade for $5.00 per plate Saturday night, followed by poolside DJ and dancing. Great family environment. Excellent experience. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
