Jan 2019 - $36.00
Stayed in a very cold time, 19 degrees at night and this was first time cold weather camping. Staff very helpful in helping us not freeze hose lines and keep camping. Very close to downtown Greensboro. Very level, gravel sites. Close to highway so if highway noise bothers you... - Jimbeau

We stayed in site #18, which was a FHU pull-through. The site was fairly level, but quite short. Not enough room for us to keep our truck in front of our pop-up, which is what we look for in quick overnight stops. Also, it was a bit of a walk to the bath house, even though I specifically requested a site close to the bath house when I booked the reservation 8 months ago. Bath house was clean enough, but you could tell it was extremely old, and needed to be completely redone instead of just painted over. That was the general theme for much of the campground; very old, not particularly attractive or welcoming, and in need of a face-lift. The laundry room, however, was very nice, clean, and well-lit. I believe they only recently converted to a KOA, so it seemed like they were in the middle of some needed capital improvements. Still not worth the KOA prices at this time, in my opinion. On a customer-service related note, the check-in process left something to be desired. We arrived around 6:30pm, and were checked in by a workamper who informed us that we still owed a small balance on our reservation. I was confused, since I had booked the site and paid in full eight months prior, and the woman behind the desk had zero interest in figuring out what it was for, or in trying to remove the charge. I paid it, since I didn't want to make a big stink over a few dollars, but it was definitely irritating to arrive exhausted to an already overpriced site that you thought was paid in full, only to find out that you inexplicably owe more money. Additionally, they closed the office at 7pm, which was unexpected given the Journey designation (they're supposed to have later hours to accommodate highway travelers). However, I saw the owners going to check on something in the office, and they graciously agreed to get me some change. Overall, this was an OK overnight stop for us between the Smokies and OBX, if you can handle the road noise, but I don't think we'd stay again. - Jenventola

We had a pull-through, extremely uneven, could have packed front wheel bearings, fresh rock but poorly poured and leveled - a large house keeping problem. looking out other campsites most are uneven. Beautiful park, pool and amenities. Would stay again. - bobbodean

The only sites that are level are the ones with 50 amp power because they are in the only paved area, all site in a row, no trees and VERY close together. Also the sewer hook ups are to high for gravity to work, and the electric poorly located so that we could just reach it. Every site there was occupied, as it was a holiday week-end, and we've never been so close to our neighbor. After the holiday they thinned out, not as crowded. The rest of the sites are in the wooded area and obviously not level at all. Other than the sites the park is very nice, with covered picnic tables next to the lake and all areas very well maintained. The park includes tennis courts and a boat launching place that rents boats & boards. The park is about 6 miles from town, and the wifi worked well. - Gerry9
Jul 2018 - $35.00
We stayed on site C24 which was one of the most level in the park outside of section B. Restrooms were clean, the pool is small but clean, wireless was very good, Bring extra water and sewer hose as the connections are not conveniently placed. The golf course in the park is very nice and a great value as we reserved and got a special price of $15 with cart. Plenty of shopping and restaurants close by as this is an urban park. - kbot
Jul 2017 - $35.00
Sections A and C are very pretty and wooded. We looked out to the lake with no obstruction. Section B is a gravel, unwooded lot. The park itself was pretty and well laid out. The showers in section C had numerous cobwebs and didn't seem to be recently cleaned. The toilets were clean, though. A prior review was accurate in that there was no ventilation in the bathouse and quite hot in July. - ShellNTim

Apr 2018 - $20.00
Lots of hiking trails, lots of picnic areas, very awesome swimming pool with crazy slide and stuff (extra costs). We camped in April, the bathrooms were barely functional. There was warm water, but no hot water. One shower was non-functional (the handicapped shower) with no controls or shower heads. The other was barely warm and sprayed water everywhere. Fire wood shack was next to pavilion but no way to get firewood after 5pm and there are no fire rings in the RV spots. Spots were very close together, and ALL spots were marked "RESERVED" Though they remained empty Thurs-Sunday. Sites are narrow raised gravel driveways with lower muddy spots on either side. If rain is in the forecast, bring a rubber mat ! The forest in not managed around the campsites and trees (LARGE) came crashing down in the tent area twice. Luckily no one was in those sites. Hiking the trails I picked up many "Juice box" wrappers, and several grocery bags, but actully it was cleaner than most places that have a lot of kids and picnic groups. - GoingNoWhereFast
Sep 2017 - $20.00
A great municipal park with 3 camping loops: Loop A has no hookups and is for tents. Loop B is heavily wooded with 30amp and water every-other site. You may need as much as 50' water hose. If you're longer than 30' you may find Loop B tough to navigate. Loop C is basically a field with RV parking along the perimeter. The park has several ponds (fishing) and about 10 miles of hiking and biking trails. Several large play areas for the kiddies and a pool (extra fee). There are two dump stations and two (older, but usable) bath houses. - ricks99
Apr 2017 - $20.00
Great place to stay. Was basically an open lot with lots along the perimeter for the 39 ft class A we brought. Great trails and a great playground for my daughter. Also has a pool and a lot of trails to go explore. Staff is very pleasant and no issues what so ever. Lots of fishing ponds and great atmosphere. Will stay again. - Muffinman2010

This park no longer takes short term travelers. They now take only long term tenants. - ramblin' vagabonds
May 2016 - $25.00
This is a mobile home park with a few spots for RVs. Mainly older units that are in need of repair. The roads were paved. Our spot was level. The first spot he wanted to put us in was very muddy and not level, so he did move us. This spot was grass with some gravel in the muddy spots. He does charge by the day, not night . So 4 nights is 5 days, you pay for 5 days. No bath house, you must be self-contained. The park is quiet and no one bothers you. - esta34950

We have been to Reidsville Lake several times over the last 18 years. It WAS a nice campground until the Reidsville city council decided to cut funding. According to one source at the park they cut the budget by 60% while they decide whether to keep it and give it a good facelift, or sell it. The park itself is nice, wooded, generally good sites, most with full hook-ups, with a boat ramp, docks, and picnic shelters nearby. The roads are dirt/gravel and are not well maintained - creating a washboard effect, but the main roads of the park are paved. The restrooms/showers are "cleaned" daily, but the cleaners don't look over their heads, as the corners and ceiling have large cobwebs and spiders. The electric is 50 amp but, again, they need repair. It took me over three (3) hours to be able to connect to the box, because the breakers were bad and they had to call an electrician. The campground sits on the lake and has a boat dock for campers' boats, as well as two (2) short fishing piers. There is an office, where you check in, which carries soft drinks, ice cream novelties, candy, fishing licenses, and a VERY small selection of canned and boxed foods. The staff is friendly and tries to be helpful but, many times, don't know what they are talking about and have to call the supervisor. On the other hand, they allowed us to use a picnic shelter for our camping club w/o cost, because we were camping. - eternalskeptic
Mar 2017 - $15.00
Nice quiet park on lake Reidsville. We had a lakeside site which was very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful, park clean and well kept. Only downside is that the sites are not level. The site that we had was a challenge to get level and there are worse ones. Also site just barely long enough for our 37 foot motorhome. Otherwise sites are spacious and campground is easy to maneuver. Would definitely return. Our site did not have a sewer hookup. Verizon voice signal fair, no data signal at this time and no park wi-fi. - bgbassman
Nov 2016 - $18.00
We stayed at Lake Reidsville over Thanksgiving weekend 2016. We stayed in a lakeside site that was incredible. The site was fairly level. We did need every bit of our Camco Tri-Levelers to get to level though. The lake is beautiful. We watched Blue Herons fishing and spotted a couple of deer on Saturday morning. The campsite was quiet and sites were nicely spaced out. There is a burn ban in effect due to the drought so we could not have a fire. Some folks nearby chose to ignore that ban even after at least one warning from the office. Those neighbors were the only downside of the weekend. We will absolutely be back in the spring! - BeagleDad

Entrance road to campground is rough. Sites are clean and fairly level. Most campers are permanent or year round residence. If you are looking for a quiet setting it's OK. If you have a children not worth the cost. The 2 pools are clean but old and need new lining. For the price we definitely will not be returning. This campground has the setting to be a great campground, but the owners don't seem to care to improve it. If you are looking for primitive camping, they have lots of space for that. - S-Wright
Jul 2016 - $60.00
We had the pleasure of staying at this campground over the July 4th weekend! Such a wonderful experience! Everyone was so friendly and helpful during our stay! Our air conditoner broke on our camper and the camp staff lent us fans to make our days more "cool"! The pools were both maintained and very clean! Fireworks added to the fun time over the lake:) The campground was very quiet and the bathhouses and grounds were excellently kept! We will certainly return for another stay and look forward to resting and relaxing around the lake and pool! So much more to explore! Highly recommend! - Nicole Long

The owner of this campground has anger management issues. He made the stay uncomfortable and was rude to us. We left early and paid extra fees for many things. Too many rules, only allows 4 adults per stay and we have a 10 person camper. This owner talked down to us and made us feel so uncomfortable, we felt as though we had to walk on eggshells and stay inside our camper. Very sad visit. - Lisa ezell

I really enjoyed Dan River Campground, where I stayed four nights in mid-July. Glen and Charlotte are conscientious hosts, and the property is well maintained. I stayed in an area (site 22) that had more the feel of a state park than an RV park - except with strong wifi, and a very pleasant pool. An unexpected bonus was tube-float on the Dan River, and getting picked up at my site! In my view, Dan River Campground is also a good value (ie, under $30). I hope this review is helpful. - Gail H

My experience at Camp Hill was perfect. The park is a very well kept park, clean and woodsy. Perfect setting.
It is obvious that the owner is on his game with keeping the park clean.
I look forward to staying there again on my way north soon.
The trails along the river were really beautiful.
This campground is easily on of my favorite for quiet and safe camping. My dog loved it too! :) :) - Marneen

This is a great small camp ground that I was very lucky to find. I stayed here for a month while I was looking for a new house (We moved from FL to NC) and we were charged $500 for 30 days for a full hook up site. The owners were very friendly and the location was beautiful. Plenty of space to pull my 31' Travel Trailer thru. They were running low on sites with full hook ups as it seems not all the sites have sewage hook ups but the location I had was great. Call and speak with the management and reserve your spot before you get there to ensure you have full hook ups! - ABNChemo

Jan 2016 - $34.00
Lovely mountain farm and woods setting with horses and a fishing pond, this campground is home to Bluegrass Music Festivals on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. Owners were friendly, did offer to help us park. We had a back-in site on a hill side that sloped and we didn't have enough blocks to fully level. We did not use the bathrooms or showers. - Mom_of_Two
