We camped at this place for several months. Just beware it is VERY RUSTIC, has free range chickens, roosters that roam the place. They wake you up at 3:00am... The place needs A LOT of TLC. The owners charge different rates depending on which site you choose AND they charge more for the concrete pads. They tell you one price and then charge you higher prices... couldn't wait to leave that place!!!! If they would just be honest people about what they charge. Just make sure you get the rent agreement in writing. We camped at Tobacco Farm Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This camp is a small area behind the main house which is used as a B&B in a very rural and quiet setting. It is a nestled amongst 150 year old tobacco farm buildings and the entire area is very rustic. You can see that there have been many improvements recently including all new utility posts and water pipes. That said, none of the sites were remotely level. We were able to place lumber under a back tire with help of the owner to marginally level us out. We did not unhook because we felt that trying to use our automatic levelers would have put too much strain on the landing legs. OTA television service was good as well as both Verizon and Sprint coverage. It is approximately a mile and a half off of Interstate 85 at Exit 220 which makes it convenient for an overnight. There are fuel stations with diesel and gasoline available at the off ramp. This could be a wonderful RV park with some basic leveling of the sites. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. We would stay here again if the price was lowered to a reasonable level and work was done to make it easier to use the sites. We stayed here as there are few options in the area and we were too tired to proceed. We camped at Tobacco Farm Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are free-roaming chickens on the property which could be a problem if you have dogs. The owner also has two very friendly dogs who are present on the property. Be aware that you are basically in a farming area.

Overall Rating:

The March 2010 review is an accurate one. For us the location was ideal for a working trip in nearby Henderson. We enjoyed this park. Don't expect all the amenities and efficiencies of the larger parks. My rating of this park is based primarily on the setting. There are only a few sites, in a quiet country setting, secluded and set nicely in and around an old family tobacco farm. You can explore the log farm buildings. The owner is friendly and helpful. Our site was very nice. The pad was large and level but one bit of caution: the hookups were not placed in the usual left-center side, so you may need a bit of creativity. Our power cord just barely reached and we needed to use the sewer extension hose. There is a bed and breakfast here in case you want to meet friends or family. We camped at Tobacco Farm Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Camped here for work for several weeks. Very small campground with only 4-5 sites, but the sites are very large. Campground is located on an old 150-acre tobacco farm, and all of the electrical hookups are mounted onto different barns and outbuildings. There is an "outhouse" with bathroom, shower, washer, and dryer. It's very quiet. The owner is very nice, and will go out of her way to help you. This has become my regular campground when in the area! We camped at Tobacco Farm Camp in a Travel Trailer.
