Close to Interstate and Greensboro and Winston-Salem. We stayed here because it is within a 30 minute drive to Old Salem. Our GPS off Hwy 158 brought us here by numerous subdivisions but there are better ways. The campground has 3 sections, 2 wooded and one in the open. Ours is in the open with lots of gravel and delineation between sights is drawn with some kind of red paint. We can visually see the lake from our sight. Close to shopping and restaurants as well as sightseeing venues. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Campground manager tells us the campground is under new management. Historically a first-come, first served campground outside the two Market Week events (where the campground is reserved for Market Week vendors, only). We've learned that they now take reservations on their website. You do have to create an account to make a reservation. We had to pay the full cost of the campsite when making the reservations for our next stay. We found the campground in good condition and clean. Utilities worked fine. We did not use cable or showers. A few sites in sections A & C have new pavement. Section B had new gravel and new lines separating each site. As noted in previous reviews, sections A & B will give you the best camping experience, but you may have to share water hookup. Section B more tailored as a parking lot for big rigs, close, and generally satellite friendly. Section B hookups are located to the rear of the site and you may have to share the electric pedestal. To our knowledge only the tent pads are level. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The only sites that are level are the ones with 50 amp power because they are in the only paved area, all site in a row, no trees and VERY close together. Also the sewer hook ups are to high for gravity to work, and the electric poorly located so that we could just reach it. Every site there was occupied, as it was a holiday week-end, and we've never been so close to our neighbor. After the holiday they thinned out, not as crowded. The rest of the sites are in the wooded area and obviously not level at all. Other than the sites the park is very nice, with covered picnic tables next to the lake and all areas very well maintained. The park includes tennis courts and a boat launching place that rents boats & boards. The park is about 6 miles from town, and the wifi worked well. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed on site C24 which was one of the most level in the park outside of section B. Restrooms were clean, the pool is small but clean, wireless was very good, Bring extra water and sewer hose as the connections are not conveniently placed. The golf course in the park is very nice and a great value as we reserved and got a special price of $15 with cart. Plenty of shopping and restaurants close by as this is an urban park. Sections A and C are very pretty and wooded. We looked out to the lake with no obstruction. Section B is a gravel, unwooded lot. The park itself was pretty and well laid out. The showers in section C had numerous cobwebs and didn't seem to be recently cleaned. The toilets were clean, though. A prior review was accurate in that there was no ventilation in the bathouse and quite hot in July. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

have stayed here several times, nice place except it is almost impossible to level your rv as most sites (except in gravel section) are so down hill, and sloped. why such a nice place can not pour a concrete pad is unreal. this has to be one of the most problems listed. I bet if some of the town big wigs camped here changes would happen. employees we came in contact were very nice. need lights at plug in post, thanks. Except for furniture vendors during the furniture market events, there are no reservations. For RVs there are three sections. Sections A and C are old and covered with trees. Some sites are large, some small. Some level, most not. Section B is an open gravel lot in the center with 24 sites. Sites B1 through B13 are fairly level; sites B14 through B24 not so much. In B section all utilities are in the rear with most of the sewer connections uphill. Electric worked well. Water pressure low. WIFI has improved so with my signal amplifier it worked well. No picnic table, patio, or fire ring. Cell signal weak. Unfortunately, there are no good parks in the entire Triad area, so this is the best going. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed on one of the level sites in section A. Sites are narrow and many are unlevel to the point that you need to move to section B which is all gravel and level but no trees at all. Restrooms are clean on the weekends but no cleaning from Tuesday til Friday, not the best situation. Pool is avail in section A. Nice campground but the city needs to spend some of the profit to fix sites that are asphalt but breaking edges on sides and large dips in pavement need attention. no patio only dirt to sit. We thoroughly enjoyed this campground. We were in section B, the gravel lot for larger RVs. We were concerned about lot being uneven in that section (we were in B17) based on previous reviews, but was not an issue at all; just needed a little leveling out. No trees in this lot, as in neighboring A & C sections (for smaller trailers and tent camping). View of lake from section B was great, including a shelter with picnic tables. Saw lots of canoes and kayaks, row teams, and ducks. Kids went to a nice little playground in section A (or C, can't remember) and then went to the large playground at the marina across the lake (had to drive). Overall, thought it was a great facility and would certainly recommend it. Only drawback is that the sites were smaller (width); our neighbor could not extend their awning all the way with our slides out. We did not have a neighbor on our other side, but we would've had the same issue. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The only bad thing about this park is their bathhouse has no air conditioner, no windows or fans to keep it cool... When you get out of the shower, you pour sweat because of how hot it is in there. Other than that, quiet, friendly and well maintained. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Camped here with my kids (10,6) in a tent. It is a nice little campground and the tent locations / views by the lake are hard to beat. There are wooden platforms to setup your tent, and picnic benches at each site. There are only a couple of electric boxes, but I was able to reach one from site 10 with a 50 ft cord. The pool was nice and clean. The bathhouses are clean, but older (cinder block, etc) and are not readily accessible from the main tent strip by the lake (you have to cut through the woods and then walk the length of the section A RV park). I would camp here again though...great overnight spot. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Tent.

Right by the lake and excellent view. Short distance off NC 311. This was my second visit, both off season and the stay could not have been better either stay. There is a tree line on the west side of this section which potentially could interfere with satellite reception. In the spring I stayed in same section site 7 and satellite worked well. This November we were closer to the lake and on opposite side of the section. Foliage on trees was gone and we had no problems. One very nice campground. We use this campground to visit grandsons in the spring and fall. The setting is beautiful, and I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Lucky to get a site as "Mart" was in town. The site we got in Section A was private but unlevel. We didn't hook up as water connection was shared with neighboring site and our hoses weren't long enough to reach it. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Motorhome.

A beautiful little campground with paved sites (though most are unlevel). Loops A & C are the prettiest. We're in loop B which is all gravel with lines painted to delineate the sites. Not as pretty & no picnic tables, but great for big rigs as there's no tree limbs to dodge & the loop is satellite TV friendly. WiFi seems OK, weak Verizon signal (OK phone, poor data), and there's cable TV at most RV sites. Tent sites have wooden platforms off the ground. Some tents sites have shared electrical outlets, too. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
