Jun 2017 - $10.00
If you are willing to boondock, this campground is fabulous. It is right on the Blue Ridge Parkway and part of the NPS. We were there in late June, and shared it with only 4 other RVs. Our site was very level and paved. Some of the sites are "parallel parking" sites which seem a bit narrow, though we saw an A-liner in one with no problems at all. The campground is convenient to wonderful hiking. It is in the woods, we met a deer grazing next to our unit during our morning dog walk. There is a separate tent camping area which seemed to have a few more campers in it. We never actually saw the camp host, though we saw his unit. It is a quiet, lovely, convenient place. The fee indicated here reflects the 50% senior citizen discount. - ShoreXplorers
Oct 2010 - $8.00
We are amazed this campground has not been rated before. It is a NPS campground, on the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 340. It was formerly known as "Crabtree Meadows". The name was changed so that travelers would know the main attraction was the beautiful falls nearby. There are about 22 RV sites that will accommodate RVs up to 36 ft or more. Do not expect good satellite or cell phone service here although we did have Verizon cell phone and "air card" service. In addition, there are 71 tent sites in a separate area. All sites are shaded with hardwoods (hickory, etc). A VERY quiet campground with paved roads and sites. This is a great campground to get away from it all! At the entrance is a visitors center with gift shop and snack bar. We were only 8 miles from shopping in Spruce Pine. We "camped" in a 36 ft RV. Generators may be used between 8 AM and 9 PM. The fee rate is for Golden Age Passport, otherwise, it is $16. We definitely will camp here again. - gatordan

Aug 2012 - $30.00
Oldest campground in North Carolina. Great location, just off the BR Parkway at about 3500 feet in elevation; lots to see. August temperatures were in the 60s at night and mid-70s during the day. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Campground has tent sites and RV sites. RV sites are full hookup and include cable TV. Roads into and within the campground are gravel, with a some grade. All RV sites are shaded and have a combination gravel/dirt open area. Only a few sites accommodate Campers over 30 feet. Trees are overgrown, be careful of your camper and the roof! Verizon cell phone worked great. We would stay again. - NCRambler

The campground is located along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots of tight turns going into the campground - but definitely worth it. Beautiful location. The guide you to your site, which is a good thing because they can lead you through some pretty tight turns - but they know how to get you there. The campground is very well maintained, our site was very level. Staff is very friendly and helpful with suggestions for local activities. WiFi is really only useable around the office. Several hiking trails through the mountains starting in the campground. Our week was way too short - guess we need to go back again. - Gumby52
Apr 2019 - $49.00
This amazing campground resort is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile marker 324, a short ride from Spruce Pine, NC. We stayed with a 39 ft Fifth wheel and are just under their 40 ft. maximum. The new owners of 3 years, are busy updating the park to its original glory. This RV and tent campground is located in the Pusgah National Forest area and the sites are wooded and spaced nicely apart. This is the nicest family resort that we have stayed at on the East coast. If you like fishing, swimming, hiking trails with waterfalls, game rooms and much more, you will love this resort. They also have cabins for non campers. - Kathy-Arnie F
Nov 2016 - $33.00
Campground is about a half mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway down a winding, gravel road. I was traveling the parkway in the off season and this was the only campground open. I got there just before they closed the office. A very friendly young lady swiftly checked me in. The campground is split into two halves, each on a wooded hill with and valley and lake between them. I was placed in a site on the further half. It was a smaller site, water and electric only, but I only needed the power. Power at the site showed a reversed polarity, but since I was the only one in this section, I moved to the next site over. Site was graveled and level. The roads in the campground were all steep and of loose gravel, except right near the office. Very tight maneuvering, but there were some big rigs back in the furthest section. The bath house was very clean but also very dated and unheated. Never could get the wifi to work, even near the campground office the next morning. Office and store was well stocked, even in the off season. I would stay again, but in warmer weather. - Cyclonic

We rented their in place 30 ft. trailer complete with queen bed in a bedroom, set of bunks, kitchen, bath w shower, frig w freezer, picnic table and fire box. We only brought our personal items and food. They provided all else including a Saturday night bbq where they supplied the pork bbq and all the campers brought sides and their own drinks. The park is at 1800 feet elevation with a stream around it. Very pleasant and helpful owners. Other campers were very kind and considerate. - Glampor

Great big sites. Clean overall. Mountain stream horseshoes around the entire property. - MamaP
Aug 2019 - $48.00
What a wonderful experience. We were met at check in by one of the owners and she did a great job of explaining everything to us and providing information on what to do in the area. I have to say, listening to the stream while lying in bed was extremely relaxing. We were only there for two nights, however we had such a great experience we booked for a week in the fall to see the fall foliage colors. - Craig423

Some sites are a little narrow like mine, but I had ample room to maneuver as all sites are back in looking out over a field with the mountains behind. Owners are the greatest. And last - whatever you want is available in Marion. - RV State Trekking
Sep 2019 - $44.00
We had one of the pull thru parallel sites in the open without shade but a very spacious feeling with view of the awesome mowed remote control airstrip. Owner is over the top accommodating without hovering. He and his crew work very hard to keep the place mowed, clean and in tip top shape. Very knowledgeable about the area. Creek sites are a bit tighter, but very cool and shaded with the sound of the creek. Access to 2 swimming holes with a bench to sit and enjoy if you don't want to swim. Wifi worked great for us as did Verizon for texts and calls. Cable works well. Utilities were very adequate and with good water pressure for us. Stars are amazing with no light interference, other than some campers who think they have to light their rigs like a Christmas tree. A few miles out of town, but a local Walmart and even a Great Clips for an awesome haircut! The Bigfoot Festival was being held downtown during our stay, which we did not attend, but did bypass the town and saw great organization for traffic flow and parking w/ transportation downtown. - Gypsy Duo
Aug 2019 - $48.00
This was a last minute Labor day weekend booking and we were so glad we found this place. The owner is awesome and keeps the grounds immaculate! We had a pull thru site with toad. We were the second RV behind another. It was a little unusual at first-but so glad we had a beautiful view from our front awning and no one beside us. The back in sites to the creek are small and tight. It is a beautiful creek for people to cool off in. Bathrooms were clean and the laundry area was clean also. 30-45 minute drive to area attractions. Our site was fine gravel and very little leveling required. Definitely have someone spotting when emptying sewer hose-no threads to connection. Camped here in a class C with tow. Would return. - n2camping

Nice quiet rv park (mostly trailers & 5th wheels. Our site was a back-in on the rivers edge, which sloped to the back. This park is actually closer to Spruce Pine than Newland & as such, I highly recommend taking hwy 19 from Interstate 26 thru Burnsville. Any other approach, such as hwy 226 or 181 is quite the adventure. - Smooth Running

Arrival & check in very easy. Staff made you feel as if you were family and awaiting your arrival. Almost all sites were occupied but one of the most tranquil & peaceful parks we have visited. Very friendly staff & informative. Entire campground very clean & neat with little traffic. Close to Blue ridge pkwy & other attractions. Will stay here again on our next visit to area. - RT1

Riverbreeze is conveniently located in Marion, NC. Their primary focus is fulltimers. We made a reservation for one month and were told we had a "pull through" site. We were given what I would call an overnight site. We stepped out of our front door into the road and had no yard area. We moved to another campground after the 3rd night. We will not be going back to Riverbreeze. Our first time here was several years ago. We enjoyed our one week stay on our first visit. I've heard they had to make 3 high water evacuations last year. - Sonny Edmondson
