New park (2018). Beautifully maintained and very friendly and helpful staff. Facilities are excellent. Even have a great dog wash room(free) and a washer and dryer dedicated to pet items only - first seen in all our 15 years on the road. The pool is beautiful. The hookups are set up perfectly. We are in a pull thru and they are long enough for the biggest rigs with tows. All sites are concrete with concrete patios. All interior roads are paved. Military (active, retired, veteran) discount is 15%. Really enjoyed our stay and was able to extend and extra night. Definitely a "resort", unlike others that say they are. Would definitely stay again when in this area. We camped at Valley River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Casino, smaller but nice, is across the road. The town of Murphy about 6 miles - restaurants, Walmart, Lowe's, Ingres Supermarket, Urgent Care etc.

This park is newer and under new development and the staff were very helpful and courteous. We were on a family trip with our 35' Travel Trailer and had tow vehicle issues. Luckily we were only a 1.5 hour drive from home. They let us stay a few hours past checkout time for one of us to go home and get the other vehicle while the other stayed with the kids. HUGE HELP! We then went on to have a great 8 day trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway. Thank you. We camped at Valley River RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Water was rusty the whole time we were there. Two of the employees got kinda “snippy” with a friend. Construction still going on. The management group has some strange and strict rules. Seems that they are not campers themselves, just seat warmers who sit behind a desk all the time. We camped at Valley River RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

I added a detailed review with pictures on my blog. You can find it here: theadventurousboomer.wordpress.com/valley-river-rv-resort-marble-nc/ Bottom line is this - ignore the old negative reviews. I recommend this RV park. We camped at Valley River RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is our third stay here. We enjoy it every time! The park is very clean and easy to get in and out. Sites are level and concrete with patio and picnic table. Roads are paved. We used a pressure regulator for water but it dropped the pressure so low, we removed it. The pool is completed and is beautiful and inviting. They even have an assist lift for physically challenged people, to assist getting in the pool. Back part of park is still under construction. No issues with sewer or electric and we didn't use the cable. Check in was quick and easy, everyone that works there is nice and pleasant. Laundry room is clean and the machines take credit/debit cards, so you don't have to carry a million quarters! We will be back! We camped at Valley River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a new park with new park pains. But, before getting these corrected they are already working on Phase II. Two of our camping members had to move to other campsites due to no 50amp service. One had to move because the water got cut off. We stayed there a week and at times the water was very orange, red clay muddy. The pool was closed the entire time and no explanation from management as to why. Newer park management did not honor the previous management's rally commitments to our chapter. While the concrete parking pads are nice, the grassy campsite yards are a lot of dirt and crabgrass. Our campsite had a dead grass area about 10' by 12' from a previous carpet. Park management's customer service has room for a lot of improvement. We camped at Valley River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The office was beautiful and located in a "lodge" type building. New pavement to the sites, very level pads and great hookups. Be sure to take your water regulator. Some grass and sites were good size. Still under construction, the pool was not quite ready, but soon. New sites being added in the back. Didn't go fishing in the pond but was told there was no swimming as it was an old rock quarry. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Could use trees between the sites. It was right off the main road leading to Murphy but there was very little traffic noise. I would go there again if in the area. We camped at Valley River RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Went to the Irish pub in Murphy and stopped by the Casino, but really went to ride motorcycles on many of the beautiful roads in the area. Enjoyed a trip down to Helen Georgia to visit the Alpine village.

It is a park under construction, and will be very nice when done. They have a beautiful clubhouse, a catch and release fishing pond, a laundry and shower building and a pool under construction as well as another whole section. People are friendly. Now the digs: The entrance into the park is too steep and we drug, granted we are 45' long, but the hosts reported that almost everyone over 40' drags. We came close but did not drag going out, as we crept very slowly and was guided by my wife. The roads are all paved but not level and have big steep sided drainage grates. If you were not paying attention and hit one with a low riding motorhome I believe you would hit bottom. If they can get these items addressed we would readily come back, until then I don't think so. The location is good, and park is nice, pull throughs are a bit tight, but it will be a nice and pleasant place to stay. We camped at Valley River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a brand new park. Still under construction. Pool and other areas are not finished yet. Concrete pads with patio and picnic table. Long pull-through sites and also back-in sites available. Good paved interior roads. Fairly level sites. Beautiful clubhouse/office area with a nice patio and tables to the rear of it. Small lake. Everything was clean. Free Wifi (Tengonet) was good and had no issues. Cable TV with quite a few channels. Good water pressure. No issues with electric. Good views for satellite service too. Nice spacing between sites. Couldn't ask for nicer or friendlier management/staff. This park will be a 10 when construction is finished, that is the only reason we didn't rate as a 10 this trip. We will be back! We camped at Valley River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of great places to travel to, outside the park. Downtown Murphy about 5 min drive. Day trips to a plethora of attractions! We explored too many to list here! Highly recommend Valley River Brewery downtown. Great food!
