For $20/night (cash or check) to see the sights around here this is fine. We opted for a site without sewer just to have more space around us. The FHU sites are very close together. Wifi is great! Plenty of grass around here for dog walking as it is next to a large grassy field that is used for raceway parking when there are events. Plenty of OTA stations and satellite friendly. Strong Verizon signal. Owners are very accommodating. - thekites
Aug 2018 - $20.00
Not a lot of amenities but this was a good stop for us. We spent most of our time off site, and we felt our camper was secure. No sewer available but this was not an issue for us. The residents and the owners were friendly and accommodating. Wifi was good. I would return here. - Big Al 49
Aug 2018 - $20.00
GG manager friendly and helpful. There is an outdoor makeshift shower that, in a pinch, isn't bad. Outhouse toilets only. We had full hook ups so we didn't need anything. It is basically parking while in the Charlotte area. Near the race track. For the most part there are no amenities. Not bad for the value. - MikeJAnis

Well, lets start with check-in. Had to call and warn them we were close. Told to meet them at the first speed bump. Seemed a bit odd. There were several people helping with the check in process (for some odd reason), one guy (unknown if he was actually connected), was a jerk about how I pulled up to our spot. Our spot was a stacked spot in front of another rv (obviously a full timer). We were told to "just throw the power box on the ground (in the rain), it be fine". Sewer connection is literally two inches from the water source in a ground box where the two wires (uncovered and not secured at all) for the power box (un-grounded). Dog owners did not clean up. Neighbor cranked his truck at 6am and let it warm up for 15 minutes. Rudeness and just plain uncomfortable. No receipt for our payment, cash only. Not a chance in hell I would ever go back. We almost packed up and moved across the street, but it was really raining hard and that is no fun. - Davetracibob
Apr 2016 - $33.00
A good location for an overnight stop, or for events at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. I would have concerns about navigating this park if it was full. The sites were very crowded. The site surface was grass. We stayed here two separate, single nights. The owners were very pleasant, and came around with a mobile credit card reader to check us in. - MThome
Feb 2016 - $15.00
We stayed here for 3 months for work and hated to leave. The staff is so friendly and kind and was always available to help with anything. Every day a worker would swing by and visit and play with my dog. The owners helped me hook up my camper when we had to have it transported to Camping World and my husband could not get away from work. I can't say enough good things about this campground. Hands down- the best stay we've had :) - WhitneyM

This was an interesting stay. We booked two nights. The gravel site was large and level. We had enough space for my son's vehicle and ours too. His family went to the concert with us and stayed one night. We went to the concert at the PNC Music Pavillion. Its only 3 miles from campground. If you are going to NASCAR, Concord Mills, or a concert it is a great location. What was interesting was the mannerisms of the owner/manager. He was nice and helpful, but I don't think it would be wise to aggravate him. I recommend going with the flow. They don't accept cards it is cash on the barrel head. We had a great time and will stay there again when in the area. Shopping and restaurants galore at Concord Mills. This is a great location. - Shady Spring
Sep 2018 - $30.00
First the pro... this park is located close to dining, shopping and the Charlotte Speedway. That's it... the only pro for this place. We've only had our travel trailer for little over a year, but we've made 19 trips since getting it. This was the first absolutely horrible encounter with a RV park owner that we've dealt with. He was a complete jerk from the jump. He was diversity challenged (very anti-gay, but seemed angry at the world as well), rude to me, rude to my wife, and rude to his own employee. He condescendingly asked me "So, which one of you makes the decisions?", constantly referred to my wife as "the other one", and basically called me a liar when I answered his question about whether our dogs barked or not. The list of other little comments and situations is long, but it was obvious he had an issue with us from the moment we pulled into his business. This angry man literally pulled his golf cart away just as I climbing on - nearly causing me to fall on my face - less than a second AFTER offering me a ride back to our truck. I really, really hated giving arrogant jerk our money to stay there, but we were not close enough to home to just turn around and leave, and the other parks were full. It was our first trip to that location and definitely our last. Other helpful notes... they don't take cards. They don't tell you it's cash only, and they take a card to make a reservation, but once you get there they send you to their convenience store atm (located right outside the park) to go get cash to pay them. The park itself is packed with campers and mobile homes placed very tightly together (your neighbor is parked literally on top of your site on each side and behind you). If there was an empty space, they shoved someone tightly into it. Definitely just a space to park, not to enjoy your stay while there. - FlowerChild7275
May 2018 - $40.00
As we approached this campground, directly across the street from the Charlotte Motor Speedway we were a bit apprehensive. Literally dozens of RVs packed in with only minimal semblance of order. During race weeks, I am guessing that the fields surrounding this and other campgrounds in the immediate area are flooded with campers of every ilk and camper size. However, and to our delight, we were assigned to one of five shaded pull-thru sites. The only disappointment was the cable service wasn't working. However, over-the-air TV from Charlotte was easy to pick-up. It's a cash-only, no credit cards/no checks place. We were very pleased! - dandd

Dog poop everywhere, so bad I started picking it up because it was being tracked into our trailer. After the first night we watch the neighbors (permanent resident) dog come over take a poop right by our trailer and the guy/owner did nothing. Apparently this guy is the owners son. FYI, this park is very proud of their confederate flags. - CarleneNv
May 2017 - $60.00
While setting up camp, I saw a large, vicious fighting pit bull dog attack a Chihuahua being walked on a leash. Since I have three very gentle dogs, I returned to the office to request another site farther away from the pit bull in the permanent park-model trailer. The owner rudely denied my request, telling me that I should keep my dogs under control. When I pointed out that the little dog that was attacked was under control on a leash, the owner became enraged and told me to stop "Backtalking." He then said, "You can take your happy ass out of here anytime... No refunds." This RV park is NOT safe for people with dogs or children. The owners refuse to take even minimal steps to protect life and property of guests. I had to carry a firearm when walking my dogs. The owners later offered to refund HALF of my rental if I left immediately. I declined that offer, but I will NEVER return here. - John Kachenmeister
Apr 2017 - $19.00
Chose this park because of family in the area. Did not realize we were in the middle of NASCAR country, but that was great!!! The owners were easy to seal with, they run it out of their home at the entrance, just went into the kitchen to sign in.No credit cards ,cash or check. We chose site #8 after a quick trip through the park in our Jeep. It was paved and very level, most sites are grass/gravel and got pretty messy with the spring rains. The location is great for exploring all the area has to offer,we will be returning in the future. Lots of speed bumps, but that is OK keeps the traffic moving at a safe speed, but the there is not a lot of movement in the park. - Donny and Donna

Sep 2019 - $21.00
The previous reviews pretty much sum up the atmosphere of this "resort". I agree, the word resort should be replaced with just "campground" because any "resort amenities" such as a pool, lake, planned camping activities or camp store are not there. We came as hurricane evacuees and were met by a very friendly & accommodating staff. The "evacuee" rate was extremely reasonable considering we got a full hook up pull thru site. I'm not sure if the property belongs to Charlotte Motor Speedway or if Camping world just has the naming rights. Either way, they provided continental breakfast the first 2 mornings, a hot food truck lunch & a bagged dinner on the second day. - rracer5
Jun 2019 - $29.00
We stopped here for one night on our way from the northeast to Florida. Since it is associated with the speedway, we figured this would be a top notch campground. Our bad! We called to make a reservation while on the road. We requested a pull through site with 50 amp. The clerk took our credit card info, etc. and said the office was open until 9:00pm. When we arrived at 5:15 there was a note on the door stating that due to a scheduling problem the office was closed and to see the map below or you can call security. Well there were no late arrival packets like at other campgrounds. Just a map with about 6 campsites circled. I called security and they had no idea what was going on. So we went to find a pull thru site. No pull through site was available. - Mailman1223
Jun 2019 - $30.00
Most accurate description of this CG is that it's not a destination but rather a base to explore the area. We've stayed at this CG several times as there is family in the area. The best scheduled event we attended was the Speedway Christmas; very well done and worth the adventure. The CG is event driving, so it's advisable to check the schedule of events of the Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway, and the Outlaw Drag Wars. The Outlaw Drag Wars holds unsanctioned drag races for the locals every week beginning in June until late August. Looks like fun but very loud and runs until 11:30 pm. Not all sites on K and L rows are level and the only complaint is that without exception all the sites we've stayed at were not cleaned with cigarette butts aplenty. - rams-2015

An old farm converted to campsites. Many not usable. Most of the residents are permanent with very old and shabby trailers. Bath house very run down and needs to be razed and rebuilt. On the positive side the old owner passed away and the son is trying to run it through an estate. The son is friendly and helpful but he needs to do a lot of renovations. He realizes this and wants to do things right. Maybe in a few years this will be a nice park. - esta34950

Dec 2018 - $32.00
We stayed here with our 5th wheel for 4 days over Christmas 2018. Short term stays are put onto a gravel parking lot at the entrance so this isn't really a campground (no amenities, no picnic table, no fire ring). We selected this location because it was the closest RV park to downtown Charlotte. Upon reflection we should have selected a campground close to 495 because we would have had just as easy access to all parts of Charlotte (via 495) and probably more ambience. Power and water supply were adequate, WiFi was very poor to non existent. The area was clean and concealed from the main road however we did not feel comfortable with the security of the area. (Busy road, sketchy neighborhood) Every day we heard the train and police and ambulance sirens going by which didn't bother us but some people might not like it. The gravel lot was also pretty tight and if it had been full, it would have been a real challenge to back in. Chose a campground closer to 495 which provides efficient and easy access to all of Charlotte. - Koneck Cam

Elmore RV park has been great to me and my search and Recue dog, It is clean and well cared for and you could not get a better staff, Also the maint person is always on top of any problems if they should arise. One more thing the Wi-Fi is terrific. I am staying at Elmore RV park - michael maroon
May 2017 - $30.00
My visit was not during the race season so it wasn't busy but they still put me in a field. The water connection consisted of green garden hoses run the length of the field with splitters; the electric connections did not look up to code as they were conduits leaning on a bucket. The spaces were so close if someone was next to you you would barely be able to open the door let alone your awning. It was just a field. No picnic tables, no shade, no fire ring - nothing. When I asked about a picnic table they said they didn't have any. I could see picnic tables at other sites and when I pointed it out they ignored me. I was quoted a $30 rate they said they didn't offer good sams or senior rates but when I was in the office they were giving someone else a $22 rate. They took cash only which made me suspect as well. When I walked in the office a large, smelly dog almost pushed me back out the door (I love dogs and I have several); this was not a dog that should have been in the office. They were arguing with customers on the phone as well. In all my years of camping this was the worst place ever. - Station

This is our second stay and both have been satisfactory to very good. The park is quiet and the staff has always been very nice. Cable TV and internet supplied. Site has a little fishing pond that is great to catch and release. There is a big lake called Lake Tillery. The campground has access to it. - Cliff Connie

May 2011 - $25.00
The place appears to be more like an industrial site with some kind of sludge filtering machine running, front end loaders etc. Spots are difficult to park in due to hills and sharp angles. Everything is gravel and there is nothing to do. Most of the campers are permanent and very few spots are available. Not what I would call a 'family campground'. The employees are helpful and friendly. I think it's intended more for gold hunters than it is for camping. There are other things to do in the area so I'm told. - amwhatam
Jul 2010 - $25.00
We were here to do genealogy stuff in Albemarle. It is very convenient to there. The campground owners/staff were very friendly and helpful. The sites are fairly level with only 2 sites for larger coaches. Several long term people here and all were friendly. All roads and sites are gravel. We took the time to do some panning for gold and found some flakes. We did not use the shower or restrooms. The laundry was out of order while we were there. We stayed 6 nights and will definitely be back. - buddyw
Aug 2009 - $25.00
This is a working gold mine that has a small campground on the property. We didn't take advantage of any of the gold mining activities, but it looked like fun. We needed a place to stay that was convenient to Albemarle and Concord, and we didn't want to stay at the parking-lot-they-call-campground at the speedway. The campsites are all shaded and relatively level with new gravel. The power, water, sewer, and Wi-Fi all worked and the staff was friendly. There is no cable TV (or even a broadcast TV signal), but our cell phone service worked, which was a nice surprise. The bathrooms and showers can only accommodate one person at a time, and they charge $2 for use of the shower. There is one washer and dryer which is also pay-type. At $25, this campground is a good value, if you have a reason to be this far off the beaten path. - Doraville

I own my own park model camper and have been in this park for 10 years. This park has 1511 private deeded lots and about 8 public rental lots. 6 of the lots are behind the pool area and have 30 amp power, the other two are on the main road and have 50 amp meters. There is entertainment every weekend during the summer and plenty to do in pool, lake Tillery, putt-putt and much more. This park for years was park of coast to coast but has terminated that arrangement to some degree. - Gerald Witherspoon REALTOR Thomas Realty Co
Jul 2008 - $10.00
This campground is listed as a Coast to Coast campground. Upon arriving, we found that it is a huge permanent site "trailer park". The ten daily rental sites are in a gravel parking lot. We did have sewer, water, and 30 amp service, but we were unable to put out our awning or chairs, because there is only room for six campers in a line end to end. There is no room to put out awning because other campers must drive within inches of your camper to exit the parking lot which is where your camper is located. If someone is camping in front of you and you need to hook up your tow vehicle, you are out of luck unless they move their camper first. We will never return here! It is shocking that this is a Coast to Coast campground. - T. Garrell
