May 2016 - $35.00
I own my own park model camper and have been in this park for 10 years. This park has 1511 private deeded lots and about 8 public rental lots. 6 of the lots are behind the pool area and have 30 amp power, the other two are on the main road and have 50 amp meters. There is entertainment every weekend during the summer and plenty to do in pool, lake Tillery, putt-putt and much more. This park for years was park of coast to coast but has terminated that arrangement to some degree. - Gerald Witherspoon REALTOR Thomas Realty Co
Jul 2008 - $10.00
This campground is listed as a Coast to Coast campground. Upon arriving, we found that it is a huge permanent site "trailer park". The ten daily rental sites are in a gravel parking lot. We did have sewer, water, and 30 amp service, but we were unable to put out our awning or chairs, because there is only room for six campers in a line end to end. There is no room to put out awning because other campers must drive within inches of your camper to exit the parking lot which is where your camper is located. If someone is camping in front of you and you need to hook up your tow vehicle, you are out of luck unless they move their camper first. We will never return here! It is shocking that this is a Coast to Coast campground. - T. Garrell

I added a previous review and the rate was wrong so hope this corrects it somehow. it was not 105. it was 35. - Clifton Hucks
Oct 2018 - $105.00
This is our second stay and both have been satisfactory to very good. The park is quiet and the staff has always been very nice. Cable TV and internet supplied. Site has a little fishing pond that is great to catch and release. There is a big lake called Lake Tillery. The campground has access to it. - Cliff Connie
May 2018 - $38.00
We stayed here with a 39 foot Class A and tow vehicle. Quiet park with very few full timers. I would not say big rig friendly but very doable. - W-TBanks

Dec 2018 - $19.00
Greeted by Host within minutes of arrival who asked if we would like a "more level" site... how refreshing! All was good and we will be staying again. - Rivers_Riders
Jul 2018 - $16.00
Nice state park, although it would have been nicer to have a water spigot at the site where we camped. The spot was a little difficult to get in, because of a stump we had to back over, that stuck up a few inches, but we still got in without too much trouble. Electricity worked fine, even when a thunderstorm blew through. Sites had decent separation between them, but closer than we have seen in other state parks. Lots to do - a swimming pool, boat ramp into the lake, kayak and boat rentals, a nice little museum on site, Morrow Mountain scenic views interesting history of why it was a popular site for native Americans even 10,000 years ago. We were surprised it wasn't at a higher elevation ("mountain" to me something over 4,500 feet). Morrow Mountain was supposedly an ancient mountain that had eroded away, so it wasn't much over 1,000' elevation. Friendly host - came to check on us about the time we were unhooking. Lot was level, and barely long enough for the 37' 5th wheel and dually. - Ol JB
Apr 2018 - $19.00
We stayed in Family Campground Loop C for 3 nights. There is no check in to your campsite. Just drive to the campsite and set up. The camp host will come to you. Not all the sites would be easy for us to get into. The restrooms were down the hill requiring an uphill climb to return to our trailer. The park was full while we were there yet we barely knew it as the sights are very spacious. The water spigot was conveniently located. The camp host drove his golf cart through the campgrounds frequently with wood for sale. There is lots to do here with trails, the museum and the vista at the top of the mountain. This is one of our favorite campgrounds and we will certainly return. - Mamag76

May 2009 - $5.00
We had another nice stay at West Morris Mountain over the Memorial Day weekend. A work crew had been in to clean up the sites and trails. The clean-up resulted in cut wood being available for fires. The campground was over half filled, but remained quiet. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. - dmaerz
Mar 2009 - $5.00
If you are self-contained, small (under 24'), and looking for a rustic campground, West Morris Mountain is perfect. Part of the Uwharrie National Forest, West Morris Mountain provides easy access for hiking in the Uwharrie Mountains. The campground has vault toilets, but no water or other amenities. The campsites are on a paved loop and offer privacy for campers. It was great for a one night campout with our children. - dmaerz

Badin Lake campground is in Uwharrie National Forest; and has 35 sites (We had site #13.) This is one of two campgrounds in the Uwharrie National Forest. The other one (Arrowhead) has some electric sites but it is not next to the lake. This campground is next to the lake but it does not have electricity and it has only 34 sites. Reservations are needed for the weekends even the first weekend in May. It is a beautiful campground overlooking the lake. Open year round. Each site has a picnic table, grill, lantern post and tent pad. There are toilets and showers and the host kept them really clean. Fee $12. Get good directions before you drive in – if you take the road after the BP gas station on route 109 you will save yourself about three miles of traveling on gravel roads – even taking this road you will still have a mile or two of gravel to take and potholes. There were sites for big rigs but the drive in is slow and hard for large RV”s and you wonder if you will be the only ones there. There are two loops to this campground and when we pulled in about the half the sites were taken and all were reserved for the weekend. It was like all of a sudden there was civilization. If your site is on the water you can launch your kayak or fish off the banks. There are a few boat docks in the forest, hiking trails, bike trails and picnic areas. It is a beautiful forest and the host was excellent – helped us back in and gave us maps of the area and other information that we needed. This campground is about an hour away from Seagrove with over 100 pottery shops and the NC Pottery Center and Museum considered the top pottery village in the USA. Very interesting! - gsnakehill

May 2018 - $25.00
Beautiful NFS campground located within the Uwarrie National Forest. All sites are heavily wooded and a few include a view of Badin Lake. Although the campground roads are paved the last 1.5 miles of road into the campground is unpaved: gravel and dirt and some holes. Sites include a fire ring and BBQ grill. Sites have electric only: fill your take with potable water is available at the dump station. Most site will require some leveling. Campground was very clean an well kept. Batch house was older, but clean (no AC, so it was humid). *LOTS* of hiking and off-road trails (bring your ATV or OHV!). OUtdoor shooting range is nearby, so you may hear some gun shots. - ricks99
Mar 2017 - $25.00
$18 per night plus a $7 surcharge for electricity....well, someone has to pay for the new poles and the new host site. Speaking of hosts, I think we saw him once all weekend. Arrived Friday and bathrooms were in okay shape....by Sunday, only one toilet in five had toilet paper and the place was dirty. Non-electric sites seem to offer more privacy than the electric sites. I found the place crowded and noisy. I would not camp here again. - MSSW
Jun 2015 - $25.00
We spent our first weekend there. It is a very attractive campground. The sites vary greatly from fairly large and private to small and cramped. Several sites offer 20, 30, and 50 amp electrical service. There is no water at individual sites, only spigots throughout the campground. There is a paved hiking trail around the campground, as well as dirt paths down to the lake. Keep in mind that there is a fairly rough dirt road the final mile or so getting there, but the park is paved. There is a dump station. - Ken H.

May 2011 - $25.00
The place appears to be more like an industrial site with some kind of sludge filtering machine running, front end loaders etc. Spots are difficult to park in due to hills and sharp angles. Everything is gravel and there is nothing to do. Most of the campers are permanent and very few spots are available. Not what I would call a 'family campground'. The employees are helpful and friendly. I think it's intended more for gold hunters than it is for camping. There are other things to do in the area so I'm told. - amwhatam
Jul 2010 - $25.00
We were here to do genealogy stuff in Albemarle. It is very convenient to there. The campground owners/staff were very friendly and helpful. The sites are fairly level with only 2 sites for larger coaches. Several long term people here and all were friendly. All roads and sites are gravel. We took the time to do some panning for gold and found some flakes. We did not use the shower or restrooms. The laundry was out of order while we were there. We stayed 6 nights and will definitely be back. - buddyw
Aug 2009 - $25.00
This is a working gold mine that has a small campground on the property. We didn't take advantage of any of the gold mining activities, but it looked like fun. We needed a place to stay that was convenient to Albemarle and Concord, and we didn't want to stay at the parking-lot-they-call-campground at the speedway. The campsites are all shaded and relatively level with new gravel. The power, water, sewer, and Wi-Fi all worked and the staff was friendly. There is no cable TV (or even a broadcast TV signal), but our cell phone service worked, which was a nice surprise. The bathrooms and showers can only accommodate one person at a time, and they charge $2 for use of the shower. There is one washer and dryer which is also pay-type. At $25, this campground is a good value, if you have a reason to be this far off the beaten path. - Doraville

Aug 2019 - $1.00
The campground was wonderful. We didn’t have any problem navigating the roads with our 36’ MH and toad. Our site was fairly level and spacious. The staff are amazing and make you feel so welcome. Lots of fun activities (putt-putt, horseshoes, corn hole and a great game room with retro video games. Live music under the pavilion was a blast (Southern Voice is a fantastic band). We took part in Travel Resort’s sales presentation and if you’re worried about high pressure tactics, don’t be. It was a pleasure to talk with the agent but the program wasn’t a good fit for us. - RoadTripAAB
Jul 2019 - $10.00
This is a nice park. No sewer hookups but dump stations are convenient and they do have a "honey" wagon that comes around 3 times a week. The cost is $7.00 unless you stay a week and then you get use of the honey wagon once for free. Sites are clean and level. A little close to others but not bad. Water and electric were fine. Wifi worked fairly well although it was down quite often either due to too many users or some other issue. Verizon worked well as did Directv. Staff was friendly and helpful. Interior roads are a little bumpy but not as bad as many we've seen. Southern Pines/Aberdeen were a 20 minute drive but there is plenty of shopping there. We stayed here in a motorhome. - RayN
Apr 2019 - $1.00
Very clean, no permanent sites. Good Cell service (Straight Talk Wireless). No WiFi. Upon arrival we were given free firewood, fire starter and a smores kit. Friendly staff. General store has a good selection. Large pond, cabins looked clean and kept up. - dcr126
