This is a real gem of a park. Large, spacious sites, well kept grounds, and right on a private lake. Not a 10 because it's right off the highway and not far from train tracks, so a lot of noise (which really didn't bother me but it might other people). Very easy in and out. Roads around campground were wide and easy to navigate. What also impressed me was that instead of wooden or even plastic picnic benches, they had real patio furniture (great chairs and glass tabletops with umbrellas in the middle). Highly recommend this place. - cherylbrv
Oct 2018 - $44.00
EZ on and off from I95. Would recommend making a rese because there seemed to be only a few transient sites. Many well kept permanent rigs. Easy to negotiate for big rigs. WiFi ok. EWS ok. We were in a pull in/back out with trees and no satellite availability and they do not have cable. Nice park. Have and would stay again. - Team Asphalt
Sep 2018 - $32.00
We spent a week here. There was some traffic noise but not a problem. The site was mostly dirt which carried into the RV. WiFi was OK and our Verizon cell and hotspot worked. Rooftop dish worked at E4. Easy on & off I95. - big greg

Excellent Park. Lots of room in the site. Extremely quiet at night. - fpresto
Apr 2019 - $45.00
This was a one-night stop for us heading north after the winter season in the Southeast. It is an easy stop off I-95. I believe all the sites are pull-through. There are quite a few sites here and a lot of longer-term residents, but the transients are put near the front and fairly close to the bathhouse and office. The pool was not open while we were there. In spite of the proximity to I-95, the campground was pretty quiet. Sites were level, restrooms / showers were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again for an overnight or two. - Cape Cod kayaker
Nov 2018 - $45.00
This RV park is good for an overnight stop. We had to park close to the grass because the site could use some leveling out; which the days we were there were rainy and extremely muddy getting in and out of the RV. We used the laundromat which was average. On the morning that we were suppose to leave, the office called half an hour early from check out to make sure we were not staying for another day because they did not see us moving around at our site. - TWTD
May 2019 - $27.00
Very good place for a short stay. Mostly full timers in this park but they were very quiet. Heard the train a lot but I knew this before we decided to stay there so that was not a problem. Very close to the interstate which is what I wanted. Also close to fuel stations and several fast food places. Host were very cordial and helpful and we enjoyed chatting with them. Will probably stay here again if in the area. All hook-up were easy and wifi very strong and easy to connect to. Did not use the cable since we were only there one night. I had a 39' 5th wheel and had no problems navigating the CG. - dakota ev
Mar 2019 - $27.00
As with other reviews, this is not a "resort" but for overnight it's clean, and the friendly, helpfulness of the owner/manager raise it above other overnighters. Add the passport rate and we'd be back if passing through. The close train seems typical for us when we camp so while it was loud as the engines passed, there were no close crossings and it's usually the train whistle that's bothersome. The sites and campground as a whole was very clean and we appreciated that they even had recycle bins. They are making an effort to add amenities, swings, movie night, continental breakfast though I believe the movie and breakfast is during summer only, wi-fi was excellent, multiple bars on both sprint and verizon. They have long convenient transient pull-thrus though leveling due to a slight slope can be challenging. We adjusted our position and were able to level with jacks and no blocks, all wheels on the ground. When pulling in the office is by the motel. - amonaghan
Sep 2018 - $24.00
This campground should not be called a Resort. Our site was sufficient however, this a Mobile Home Park with a few campsites. The shower facilities were motel rooms emptied of furniture...that was ok, but the smell was really bad. Smelled like old, moldy carpets. Cost effective for overnight. - ajoy922
Sep 2018 - $17.00
Stayed here 2 nights in a motorhome. Only military and DOD civilians are permitted to use this park. It is located on base and is easy to get to. The roads are paved and the sites are concrete. The water and electric are situated in a reasonable location, but my sewer was in a bad location. No cable TV, don't know about WiFi. Satellite TV is spotty due to many trees. Overall a nice campground for short or extended stay. - trav
Jul 2016 - $28.00
Very quiet. Helpful staff. Convenient to interstate (2 miles). Make reservations ahead as we did. Don't forget detergent for laundry. Manager was very kind and helpful. Bath and showers had been repainted and were clean. Campground was well maintained and perfect quiet place for family and/or senior stays. We plan to use again in our travels. - tyndallrg
Jun 2014 - $28.00
Easy access, and good signs on the way. Very rustic campground. All hookups were adequate, the water spigots are below the ground in a hole. Beware that for every two campsites, the hookups are on the same posts, therefore each camper pulls in different. And you will be facing your neighbor. Very awkward. As you and your neighbor sits under the awning, you seem like you are camping with them. Weird.
The pool was nice but dirty. Every day we took our fishing minnow net and skimmed the pool and got all the bugs out before we went swimming. Typical run down campground. The owner is extremely nice and doesn't put up with rowdy, noisy people. He accommodated every request we had.
The internet was very reliable. It was a good place to spend the night, but not an extended stay destination. If you have a visitor to visit, they will be banned from the pool, I guess liability issue? The campground needs a lot of work. We would possibly stay again if we needed a place to sleep, but not stay long. - jabberb
Jul 2013 - $28.00
Easy access off I-95. They made us feel welcome and guided us to our spot, which was level. Nice pool on premise. Spots were shaded which interfered with satellite TV reception, but kept them cooler. We will stay here again. - ournextstop
Aug 2018 - $25.00
We were very surprised how clean this campground was. We had no trouble backing into our site, that included full service. The brochure omitted full sewer hookup on site. The fire pit and barbeque grille were ready for use. I didn't need my leveling blocks for the site. The sites are well spaced with lots of trees. Our site was partially shaded. The paths were clean and easy to negotiate. So quiet during the day and night. No road traffic could be heard. The security was tops, with a ranger on patrol almost every hour. We went to the lake which is spring fed. It was beautiful with a lush grass lawn right down to the water's edge. I am very conscientious about protecting our forest and seeing litter left on the ground bothers me. In the four days we camped here, we didn't see any litter on the ground. Amazing! Great park to relax, take a walk or go swimming. Also we met lots of campers. - Arcymoore
Jun 2018 - $20.00
The wife and I just returned from a 4 night stay here ( Monday-Thursday). The state has recently converted 12 of the sites from tent sites to full hookup sites with 50/30/20amp service. The gravel parking pads on all 12 sites are long enough for any big rig, plus there is a gravel tent pad with fire ring and picnic table on each site. There is also 3 cabins that will sleep 6 with ac and heat but no cooking or inside water.
There are 30 camping sites plus the 3 cabins. All sites are shady. Streets are paved and there is a centrally located bathhouse. There are walking trails in the park, fishing in the nearby Neuse River and a 11 acre swim lake with a grass beach and swimming in season. Firewood and ice available on site and a nice visitors center.
The park entrance is locked at either 8 or 9 pm depending on the season. The campground will close down sometime this year (2018) to tear down and build a new bathhouse. The current bathhouse is open but was damaged in January when the plumbing froze. - Dolan Brown
Mar 2018 - $23.00
First time here. The recent upgrades at some of the sites are great. Our site was large and had plenty of privacy. Enjoyed walking the trails and just hanging out. Bathhouse is worn but appeared to be clean. - jrackley
Sep 2010 - $25.00
As mentioned in earlier reviews, this is a mobile home park with a few RV sites. The park was very quiet and well-maintained and there was a nice big grassy area for our dogs to run. No frills, or bells and whistles, but with the dearth of RV parks near Raleigh, it's not bad. We would stay here again. - melissab7
Dec 2009 - $15.00
Very clean. Rules are enforced. It's a mobile home park with six (6) RV sites. NO shower building or restrooms. We stayed two months and will be back. Very friendly owner and will help anyway he can to make you comfortable. Only one other RV near us during our stay. Very spacious sites with cement slab and flat gravel area for the RV. - jimdee
Mar 2017 - $40.00
This park is mostly full time campers but it is very well maintained and quiet. It sets back from the main road and is kind of hidden by other businesses along the road. It was easy to get in and out and the owner was very friendly and accommadating. If you are looking for a resort type campground this is not the place for you. It does have all hookups but that is about it, no club house or any activities which was fine for us. We used this place to visit Raleigh and not much else. The price was kind of high for what was offered so we would probably look for another campground if we visited again. - John Borajkiewicz
Dec 2016 - $28.00
Staying here for 2 weeks. Rate is weekly rate. Manager very pleasant. Lots of very well kept seasonals here. Great access to I40 and short trip into Raleigh. Camping World just down the road from here as well. Sites are spacious, slightly shaded with gravel back ins and concrete patios. No fires allowed and no picnic tables. Very quiet except for the Route 70 road noise. Plenty of shopping ops just up the road. Rating is due to road noise. - travlinphoolz
Mar 2016 - $17.00
Rate is based on the monthly rate. The park was the best maintained park we have ever stayed at. The owner was very helpful and approachable. Everyone in the park was friendly. Dogs were on leashes and mostly picked up after. There are some permanents but there homes are well kept. I will be going back to this park. - Lesterosu
