First Impression: Small. Office building needs painting. Entrance road narrow, gravel, rutted. Nice sized pool. Old, unusable mini-golf. Plenty of room between RVs. Safety: No concerns. Access: Get to Wilson, NC, and head north on US-301 (heavy road construction Fall of 2019). Garmin GPS took me 3 miles north then turn-around and drive south back to the CG. But, there is a north-bound cross-over right at the CG. CG sign is low, easy to miss. Office: Nice staff. Small store has mostly fishing stuff (rods, reels, tackle, bait) and some soft drinks and snacks. No RV equipment items. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations available. My price reflects their military/veterans price discount. Facilities: Pool, no spa, no fitness room, no rec center. Small, clean laundry room. Restrooms/showers aging but sufficiently clean. Propane sales. Playground. No off-leash dog run. Campground: Not in a flood plain. No storm shelter available. Lightly wooded. Interior roads are somewhat wide, gravel in fair condition with somewhat sharp turns. Watch for low-hanging tree branches over some sites. Big rigs and long coaches should not have maneuvering problems. Tent area, no yurts, a few cabins are available. Sites are all somewhat spacious, level, gravel, pull-through and back-in, grass between. Pedestals at middle of site with electric 20/30/50; metered for seasonals. Adequate city water pressure with good taste. Sewer pipe is 4" threaded, about 2" above ground level. Small, nice concrete patios with good picnic tables. Fire pits. Good satellite views. No cable TV. OTA TV found 30+ channels. Free Wi-Fi. Verizon phone at 3 bars; 4G at 2 bars. No recycle bins. Noise: No railroad, aircraft, traffic, or interstate noise. Bug Report (late August): gnats. Runners: CG roads marginal for running (loose gravel). Yoga: patios are plenty big enough for your mat. Conclusion: Score 7-Good. IMO: well priced. - StephenK

We were pleasantly surprised with this campground. Out site was an easy pull through with full hookups. The campground is right on US 301, but we were not bothered by the road noise. The ponds, ducks and donkeys are cute. We did not use any of the other facilities. Good value. - Kathyva

This is fine for an overnight spot. It's small and filled with permanent residents. Only a few spots up front reserved for transients. There is (or was) a mini golf course and it looks great on the website but it's in complete disrepair and is unusable. There is a small pool but nowhere to get out of the sun as there are no umbrellas. - Ceil-54

Very quiet. Helpful staff. Convenient to interstate (2 miles). Make reservations ahead as we did. Don't forget detergent for laundry. Manager was very kind and helpful. Bath and showers had been repainted and were clean. Campground was well maintained and perfect quiet place for family and/or senior stays. We plan to use again in our travels. - tyndallrg
Jun 2014 - $28.00
Easy access, and good signs on the way. Very rustic campground. All hookups were adequate, the water spigots are below the ground in a hole. Beware that for every two campsites, the hookups are on the same posts, therefore each camper pulls in different. And you will be facing your neighbor. Very awkward. As you and your neighbor sits under the awning, you seem like you are camping with them. Weird.
The pool was nice but dirty. Every day we took our fishing minnow net and skimmed the pool and got all the bugs out before we went swimming. Typical run down campground. The owner is extremely nice and doesn't put up with rowdy, noisy people. He accommodated every request we had.
The internet was very reliable. It was a good place to spend the night, but not an extended stay destination. If you have a visitor to visit, they will be banned from the pool, I guess liability issue? The campground needs a lot of work. We would possibly stay again if we needed a place to sleep, but not stay long. - jabberb

Easy access off I-95. They made us feel welcome and guided us to our spot, which was level. Nice pool on premise. Spots were shaded which interfered with satellite TV reception, but kept them cooler. We will stay here again. - ournextstop

Ready on and off 95. Friendly check in. Small camp store. Nothing at exit. Quiet park. Perfect for travelling through. Clean. Well maintained. Unlevel, had to use 2 pads to level side to side. Noticed others around us didn't have to do anything to get level. Long. End site. Good for big rigs. Close to bathhouse and pool. - Jan Orlando
May 2019 - $45.00
Although there are full hookups available, when I made the reservation there weren't any long enough for our motorhome and towed car. We opted for a water-electric site because this campground is a good stopover when traveling north and south on 95. We stayed in April heading north and again in May heading south. The campground is easy on-off the highway. The water-electric are in the front of the campground and we were able to get a long and level site. - lce3
Nov 2018 - $46.00
We stayed here twice, once heading South on I-95 and again returning North. It is a good campground for getting off the road. Access is close to the highway, but, as other reviewers have mentioned, you don't hear road noise. When we stayed heading South we were in site 13 which was $50 before the KOA discount and heading North we were in site 34 which was $52. So, if you don't need 50 amp service, you might ask. Our sites were level and the utilities were OK. Site 34 had the sewer hook up at the rear of the site, so we didn't use it though we had planned to. Site 34 needs an extra long hose. When we stayed here a few years ago the campground was up for sale. Now it is listed as "under new management". When I checked in I was greeted by someone eating fried chicken. Two other employees were there and not eating, but greasy fingers was the one who checked me in. These things make a difference. One of the other employees did give me helpful anecdotal weather news collected from other folks getting off the road (snow to the north, rain to the south) which I appreciated. There is NO gas or food nearby so plan ahead. - ShoreXplorers
