Nov 2017 - $25.00
We stayed here mainly because it hadn't had a review since 2011 and it only had 2 reviews. I also wanted to update the contact number and put the address in. The basics are still the same, grass on a sand base that will support RV's when wet. It's easy to get around and all the sites are both back in and drive through. Here's the amazing part the rate is still $25/night no discounts. They do take credit cards, sometimes when the machine is working. They are happy to take a check or cash. The folks running the place were very friendly and helpful. We hadn't decided how long we want to stay so they said just drop a check in the drop box on the way out for the number of days you stayed. This CG attracts a lot of fisher persons with boats, deer and duck hunters. It's located right on the Pongo River. The CG is quiet and peaceful. We had our kayaks along and did a 5 mile paddle on the Pongo and it was beautiful. The showers and bathroom were clean with good hot water and ok pressure. Verizon phone and Mifi worked fine. Washer and dryers are available. If we're back in the area we'd stay here again. - pumper9x9
Oct 2011 - $25.00
This is a really well kept and convenient spot on the Pungo River, just east of Belhaven, NC. They have a boat launch ramp and propane available, and are the last and best place to wait overnight for the Swan Quarter ferry to Ocracoke Island. - Red Moose
May 2009 - $20.00
There are not many full-hookup campgrounds in this part of rural North Carolina. This campground is off the beaten path, offers very large campsites near a river, is very quiet, only $20/night, and the owners are very friendly & helpful. For instance, the sign at the office says "If we're not around, just pick out a site and get settled in, we'll come around and see you later". Laundry and showers facilities are provided. The campground is adjacent to a mobile home park, no wi-fi and limited cell phone access as only US Cellular seems to work here. The campsites are in two areas, one area is wide open and the other in the trees. The nearest grocery store is about 11 miles away on the 264 bypass in Belhaven, so stock up before coming to the campground. We would stay here again. - mountain_man
