One of the nicer campgrounds we've stayed at. Could use some cleaning in laundry mat. Staff is friendly. Quiet. Beautiful lake on site. Maybe feed the ducks. Two huge pools and a hot tub. Closed for the season. Adult lodge as well as family area to hang out. Lots of books to swap. Games n stuff for the kids in the family area. WiFi is a bit sketchy. We have a hotspot so that's helpful. Unlike a lot of thousand trails you don't get to pick your site. Already assigned upon your arrival. Pleased with our site. There is a store I haven't been inside. Restrooms I haven't been in either since I have one in my RV. There is a restaurant that was only open on the weekends. There are cabins down by the lake. They look Cozy. Overall great campground. Great for families or a grown up getaway. I would stay here again. - RLKeller

This TT campground is a contradiction in many ways. The office staff and manager are exceptionally welcoming and friendly. However, the Rangers seem to be overworked and frustrated. When we checked in, the Ranger was too busy to escort us to our site, A-35. Once we arrived at our site, we were confronted with a metal sign on our faucet that indicated Not for Potable Water. We arrived late in the day, so I contacted the Ranger at the entrance gate via phone and she said she would stop by shortly. We waited an hour for a No Show, at which point I drove up to the Entrance. The Ranger indicated she had been so busy that she forgot. The ranger did not believe the sign I described to her, even after showing a smartphone photo. It was a Friday evening. I asked if the camp manager was available and she said the camp manager had just left. I asked if a maintenance supervisor could be contacted, and she replied she could not immediately get a hold of the Maint. Supv. by phone; but would call us back when she did. She never called back. The next morning, I went over to the office and asked to speak with the Manager, who listened in disbelief and the only explanation was that an incorrectly labeled batch of faucet heads had been shipped to the campground and installed by mistake. She assured me that the water was safe and contacted the M Supv. to meet me at my site. When the M Supv. arrived, he was also in disbelief, assured me that the water in the campground was pure and that an incorrectly labeled faucet had been placed on the water outlet. I was offered a different site, but we had already set up camp and did not want to waste another 90 minutes breaking and making camp. Watch Out for the Speed Bumps and Check the Water Spigot! I suggested that someone be tasked to drill/sand off the Not for Potable Water label. We stayed 14 days and no one dropped by to do so. - michaelsutton

We had to book same day as the RV park we previously booked lost our reservation. We called local number here and got a recording to call 800 number. Waited 20 minutes on hold and it took another 20 to get it booked which included the agent calling the park and confirming all our info. We were told when we got there the "ranger" would have our info. Not true - he had no clue and it took him 1/2 hour to get paperwork done (we had already paid so he had to make two trips to the office to call head office I assume) Took us to a spot - it was now 6 p.m. After unhooking and settling in we realized the electricity didn't work. No one answered the phone and it's too far to walk back to the station. Kind neighbors drove my husband down. Ranger comes out...yep...he says no electricity. He leaves again...comes back in 20 minutes and leads us to another spot which thankfully worked. The place is mostly permanents, very hilly and roads are full of pot holes. Coming back the next day we were stopped by a resident who insisted we listened to his sales pitch on Thousand Trails. Because we were visiting family we ended ups staying 4 days....not a good experience. - Catsinatrailer

This is part of a city park, and we loved it. It's on a reservoir with boating, and a golf course nearby. Very convenient to shopping and restaurants, as well as airport and hospital. City provides free WiFi, apparently for residents and visitors city-wide. Campsites all have full hook ups, some 30 amp, some 50 amp, some both, with cable. Some sites share water and/or electric. Sites are paved pads (mostly sloped) surrounded by irregular ground and natural landscape (not flat), some of it rooty and/or rocky. All are back-in sites. Most in A and C are shady, section B is for big rigs and they are lined up like a parking lot with no trees in there. There are nice tent platforms (decks) available for tent camping, too. We camped in Section C, site 15, and it was right on the water. The bathhouse has very poor ventilation and no air conditioning, so it's terribly stuffy and hot this time of year (September). My sister reported very slick floors in the shower, so I showered in the RV. The "store" has a few camping supplies and emergency camping gear, but no souvenirs or fun stuff. Ice and bait are available. You can launch a boat right in the campground for boating or fishing. Pool supposedly closes Labor Day, but was open this week. Staff was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely go back. - Rosist
Aug 2019 - $30.00
The park was nice and the people were very friendly. Many sites were not level. There was not a fire ring which was disappointing since I usually cook over the fire. Some of the utilities were difficult to access. - rcsauce

It was good. If you want to use the WiFi, Use it late at night or early in the morning. It’s very slow during the day - SomeRandomCamper

This is a mobile home park with a few spots for RVs. Mainly older units that are in need of repair. The roads were paved. Our spot was level. The first spot he wanted to put us in was very muddy and not level, so he did move us. This spot was grass with some gravel in the muddy spots. He does charge by the day, not night . So 4 nights is 5 days, you pay for 5 days. No bath house, you must be self-contained. The park is quiet and no one bothers you. - esta34950

Great stay! Our site was far from level so make sure you have plenty of leveling blocks. Also our 50ft of water hose wouldn’t reach the shared spigot at site B20, it was literally like 3 feet short. We had to fill our tank and run off that. No big deal but could be a pain if you don’t have one. Most of the other sites look much closer, just beware of this if you book this site. Great place I’ll definitely be back!!! - K9mayut
May 2019 - $25.00
Met by camp hosts as we drove in and had firewood delivered before we had even set up camp. A beautiful setting with trails to hike/bike, large open fields for the kids to play, and catch fireflies at dusk. Our site was shady and spacious, but choose wisely as some sites require significant leveling. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and due to the number of campers, the electrical system and water supply struggled to keep up with demand. Bring extra hose as shared between sites. - Meyersdvm
Apr 2018 - $20.00
Lots of hiking trails, lots of picnic areas, very awesome swimming pool with crazy slide and stuff (extra costs). We camped in April, the bathrooms were barely functional. There was warm water, but no hot water. One shower was non-functional (the handicapped shower) with no controls or shower heads. The other was barely warm and sprayed water everywhere. Fire wood shack was next to pavilion but no way to get firewood after 5pm and there are no fire rings in the RV spots. Spots were very close together, and ALL spots were marked "RESERVED" Though they remained empty Thurs-Sunday. Sites are narrow raised gravel driveways with lower muddy spots on either side. If rain is in the forecast, bring a rubber mat ! The forest in not managed around the campsites and trees (LARGE) came crashing down in the tent area twice. Luckily no one was in those sites. Hiking the trails I picked up many "Juice box" wrappers, and several grocery bags, but actully it was cleaner than most places that have a lot of kids and picnic groups. - GoingNoWhereFast

Great people, site not level, nothing fancy, a little pricey. Avoid the sites to the left of the main road, they have an extreme downward slope. - cajunearl

May 2019 - $35.00
First time at this park, our site was level but in an open field and between two permanent RVs. About 90% of the park are long-term with fixed porches, patios etc. Most sites are in the tree line with a half-dozen pull through sites at edge of open field (well kept grass). There are some old, unused RVs at far end of area (unsightly). Wifi was strong. Water, electric & sewer was fine. Campground does not use email/computer to confirm reservations; accepts cash/check only. Fire ring was a rusted dually tire rim. Picnic table was serviceable, but not substantial and due for replacement. Highway noises. Fine for a single night, but would not want to stay for a multiple day holiday trip. - Rivers_Riders
Oct 2018 - $37.00
This is a tired old campground built for trailers in the old days. Some sites have 50 amp electric, but connections are in the rear of the sites. Our electric worked well, water pressure was low, and sewer connection took a lot of hose. Several boards were needed to get the front of our rig up high enough to get level. We had to trim quite a few branches from the surrounding trees when we arrived to get them away from the sides and roof. This place has no computer - keeps reservation information in an old paper binder. They also don't take credit cards. Surprisingly, WIFI worked fairly well. I've stayed in worse places, but mostly I've stayed in better. - ramblin' vagabonds

Stayed here for 3 months for work. Nice, quiet and clean. Great area to walk for exercise or with your dog. Pool, playground and mini-golf. Church service on Sunday mornings during the summer. Friendly staff and neighbors. Great place to stay for a few nights even longer if your time permits. - LaneyC RN

Very good, No internet from my site but who needs it if they're camping??? Costs about $60 per night on holidays and about $40 per night otherwise. - SomeRandomCamper
Sep 2016 - $65.00
Entrance road to campground is rough. Sites are clean and fairly level. Most campers are permanent or year round residence. If you are looking for a quiet setting it's OK. If you have a children not worth the cost. The 2 pools are clean but old and need new lining. For the price we definitely will not be returning. This campground has the setting to be a great campground, but the owners don't seem to care to improve it. If you are looking for primitive camping, they have lots of space for that. - S-Wright

We had the pleasure of staying at this campground over the July 4th weekend! Such a wonderful experience! Everyone was so friendly and helpful during our stay! Our air conditoner broke on our camper and the camp staff lent us fans to make our days more "cool"! The pools were both maintained and very clean! Fireworks added to the fun time over the lake:) The campground was very quiet and the bathhouses and grounds were excellently kept! We will certainly return for another stay and look forward to resting and relaxing around the lake and pool! So much more to explore! Highly recommend! - Nicole Long

One free week end pass for the zoo. Close to the zoo, K&W cafeteria and city of Asheboro. We felt like it was over priced because they did not have a room or picnic shelter for our group. Also we were not aware of any security. Had to get out of RV & walk up to the post to read site #. Need more signs. Friend went down a dead end & had to take his car loose and make a u-turn. - Happy_RVer
Jul 2018 - $40.00
Currently there is only 16 site available, The owners are in a lengthy building process of this park. There is no bathroom or shower facilities currently available and full hooks ups are required. This is basically a campstore with gravel roads and 16 sites. There is a small pond on the property with trails. The nightly rate reflects a free night over the 4th of July. The park is good proximity to the zoo, and daily zoo adult admission was included with our site. The owners and staff are great people and do their best to provide a family stay. There was multiple families with children that were having a decent experience, and the park provided inflatable water slides as pool is not yet completed. The area can get dusty if it doesn't rain. Overall with the parks current lack of facilities, the owners really make sure that every one is taken care of with other activities. - Randoni
Apr 2018 - $55.00
This is a brand new Jellystone under development. But don't let that stop you from booking some time here. Easy to find and roads level. Entrance clearly marked. The owners have really poured knowledge and love into the the inner roads and sites. Sites are huge with terrific drainage. Lots of young trees but no overhanging branches. They gave us a tour of the up and coming progress that is on-going but noise and equipment is well out of sight and sound. Very peaceful, yet proximity to zoo and town is excellent. We camped with friends and we both had kids of all ages, and all had a terrific time. We love the personal attention. Bonfire, movies, s'mores, hayride all on Saturday night. Activities provided during the day. Water slide, foam zone, jumping pillow, huge Gaga ball pit. Basketball, tunnel ball, large chess set, tether ball and other activities gave our kids plenty to do. Also, nice walking and biking trails. We couldn't have had a better time and will return every year. - hopefulone

Checking in and setting up on our wonderful site that was given to us was great, but the FREE Internet never worked near our part of the park, lot #36, told the owners about it, said they would reset the routers and if they did it never worked. This is what they advertise first in there brochure and on there website! The full timers here are not too friendly, won't even make eye contact with us. Not coming back!!! - Ecpiratefb1
Mar 2017 - $41.00
This is a very lovely, very rustic campground, set on a lake in the mountains. Reminds me of a state park. It is very peaceful and serene. My only complaints are that the drive to the campground and the roads around the campground are very narrow and winding, with a lot of steep hills. Being that the campground is on a mountain, none of the sites are anywhere near level. Manager (Corey) was extremely helpful and friendly. - cherylbrv

We stayed for a long weekend, arriving at noon on Friday. Check in was easy and we were escourted to our site, The site was off the main entrance and sloped down quite a bit. The map lead you to believe there would be a water view and there was a peek of water through the trees. The park was quite and had plenty of trees. It was very peaceful but a little stressful coming in and going out as the access roads were on the narrow side. - tvolk

Large open park with tall trees near most sites. Most campers appeared to be long term. Most sites seem to lean to the drivers side as you pull in. Many sites are plenty long, but the sewer connection is at the far back so beware when you pull in. - RVStudent

Other than a broken sewer connection this place was in tip top shape. This being our first campground really set the bar high for everywhere else. Definitely a must stop if you are passing through and also get yourself some discounted tickets and go see the zoo a few minutes away. - Brandon Martin

Park is great. Very kid and dog friendly if that is your thing. Park is very clean. Sites are a bit close to each other, but it’s enough room. - Shirah
