Easy on and off the highway, very quiet at night, and sites are well-maintained and level. Best to arrive before dark and to call ahead for reservations. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We recently went to the Outer Banks for vacation. We stopped at Pride RV Resort on our way back. This was the 2nd time we stayed at Pride RV. If your looking for a peaceful getaway this is it. The best spots are in Section G along the creek. The creek is so peaceful to sit at your campsite and listen. So relaxing. However, there are no fire pits at the individual sites, only fire pits along the creek. Showers are very nice and hot. The laundry room was very nice. They have a small campsite and food service that was good. Breakfast seemed to be very popular there. We played putt-putt golf and that was fun. Some of the campsites I did notice in the middle were not level at all. I would suggest asking for a level site if required when making reservations. Overall, this is a great campground and I'm sure we will be back. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful, well maintained, and convenient CG located less than 1 1/2 miles off I-40. Staff are always friendly and helpful. We stay every time we're traveling along I-40. Sites a close, but very adequate, heavily shaded and level. Sewer connection conveniently located near the middle of the site. Beautiful mountain stream running along the back of the CG with a nice park area including benches and double swings. As mentioned above, we stay here when passing by, but we want to come here as a destination to visit Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Waynesville, NC, all of which are nearby. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Smokie Mountains are awesome. Row G closest to the River has the Premium Sites, some having concrete Patios. Wi-Fi and Water Pressure are adequate. Cable TV is available at each site. Our Row C site was a little tricky to pull-in due to adjacent Tree, but it did provide nice shade. Some other sites have the same challenge.

Overall Rating:

This park is not the best for larger Rigs. There is barely enough space for driving around & sites will not comfortably handle anything over 30 feet & allow for parking your tow safely. We have a 38 foot & we covered all but about 3 feet of the site. Everyone had to park their vehicles cross ways; this made for very uncomfortable driving in the Class A. The person across the site from us had to move his vehicle just so we could get into our site. They are narrow gravel sites with large trees that effect ability to turn into the site and open slides. Noted many towers that had been hit and were leaning. Getting into site is tight. Rainy weather showed sunken areas that had us walking in water to get to our car or the rig & no chance to use the picnic table that sat in a pool of water. They do have nice dance facilities, plenty of room for mini golf and other games. The people seem very friendly and helpful. However, this is not what we consider a pet friendly park as rules stated they expected you to stop your pet from taking care of business in any place but the pet walks....which were far away from most of the sites. I have very well behaved fur-babies but I can't teach them to hold it for 5/10 minutes while we walk to the pet area; which was not very clean, as many apparently did not pick up after their dogs. Rules indicate they are not very motorcycle friendly either. Apparently they will not allow you to ride your bike to a friends site as it states you can ride the bike ONLY to your site and to the road. They threaten fines and expulsion for violations. Of course printed rules and enforcement of rules are frequently not the same. While this is not a bad park, I do not see it as the 5 Star they brag about. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We had a nice pull through site; gravel with picnic table. Electric good; water quality good. They have WiFi and cable TV. They have a clubhouse, store with restaurant, shuffleboard, mini golf, playground, pool. Jonathan Creek runs along the side and is very nice. No dog park. It rained a lot when we got there but our site stayed dry. They have some cabins. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed with a group for an event we were all attending. The site was very large, and quite wide, and easily accomodated our 43 ft RV and truck. It was mostly level, and there were a fair number of trees on the site. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to help us out. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the wood cutting operation going on across the road (outside the campground control) that was loud and went on 18 hours a day. We got used to the noise, but I felt bad for long-term campers, and for the owners who have to put up with this issue. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Make sure to get breakfast at the Buttered Biscuit restaurant, the fluffiest biscuits I've ever seen, and their sausage gravy was divine. Beware, the portions were large with their Country Breakfast, so may want to share! Low cost, high quality food.

On our way from Knoxville to Chapel Hill, we decided to stay in Waynesville for 2 nights to visit three sets of friends. Pride quoted us $25/night for inside pull-thru slots and $35/night for a creek front slot. Everything was pristine. My husband needed a saw to shorten a length of wood to assist one of our levels to rise. And one appeared on the wooden table outside our rig within minutes. Especially enjoyed the laundry facility which was easy and comfortable to use. HIGHLY recommend visiting these friendly folks. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We love this area and generally come up every year around the end of July or the first of August. This is the first time staying at the Pride in about five years. We stayed over an extended weekend with a group of four other campers. We were all on the front row. While the rain could not be helped, several sites, including ours, were very muddy. From what I could tell this only effected a few sites. The majority of the sites appear to be mostly level and have a gravel surface. Staff was friendly and helpful. The daily breakfast was a nice touch that might bring us back a little sooner. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We were here the week of the 4th and there were fun activities as expected. However, there are fun things to do, if you want to, all the time. The laundry was more affordable than some and next to the clubhouse so you didn't have to sit on a folding chair if you wanted to stay close. The WiFi worked great. The water pressure was not very good, however. But this was a minor issue. The staff and work campers were great. The cable TV was nice although this time of year there's not much to watch on any channel at night. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a few days last week. I like this place. There's several reasons. The first is they are reasonable in their rules. Just enough to keep it a nice atmosphere and not so many that it gets to be aggravating (some of the campgrounds in the valley are way past rule crazy and they charge for every thing). This campground is nice and quiet, but still family and pet friendly. The people are friendly. The river is gorgeous. It's kinda off the beaten path. Near here is a couple of gas stations and a Dollar General. Maggie Valley is a short drive, as is Junaluska and Waynesville. My wife says this will be our Maggie Valley campground when we come up this way. We were in a sort of tight site. With our slide out and the awning it was literally a matter of inches. I positioned us so that the slide out just missed the power connection and was able to open the awning almost completely (due to a tree). That's not a complaint. It was a big, beautiful tree that kept us cool during the day. I love being in the trees, in the mountains, in the summer. In the future I'll ask for a site that's not so close to the front of the campground. We did have traffic coming by our camper a lot. Not really a complaint but, I just know in the future to try to get more towards the back of the campground. We did eat breakfast in the little café in the campground. It was good, pretty cheap and a real plus if you're just wanting to do nothing for a couple of days. I think what I observed was that there are a number of people who stay here for extended periods of time (seasonal). It's a great campground for that. Maybe one of these days I can have that lifestyle. Anyway, all things considered, Pride RV Resort turned out to be a good experience. I loved the location. I only wish we would have had a few more days. Bring your grill. There are no fire pits here. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
