We took our 8 year old grandson camping the week before school started. They have numerous things for kids to do and play with. Its a great place for kids to ride bikes. He really enjoyed fishing in the numerous ponds. They rent golf carts there which makes it easy to get around. The bathrooms were very clean and I think brand new. - shw

We stayed here on a 4 day weekend in early October. Every weekend of October has Halloween celebrations - be ready for lots of kids trick or treating. This is a very kid oriented park. Lots for children to do activity wise. We arrived on Thursday and had the camp mostly to ourselves but it was packed for the weekend. Many campers had golf carts in frequent use. The pools were clean and the water park play area well kept. The park is about an hour from Myrtle Beach - lots of things to see and do in surrounding area. Would definitely stay here again in off season and school in session. The sites are somewhat close but plenty of room to extend awnings and set out chairs. Had a level concrete pad for our trailer. No problems with noisy neighbors and "quiet time" was quiet. Cable tv worked well and no issues with wifi. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable about surrounding area. - dtbriz

My husband and I, plus our Scottish terrier stayed here for 4 nights. This is not an RV resort. It is a very nice RV campground. All roads and sites are dirt (sand) and rock. Sites are level and took little time to stabilize with jacks. They dry out fast after rain. The grounds are very nice and well maintained. You feel you are in a coastal forest. Sites are 45 feet wide so we had room to spread out. There is a very large wooded dog run that is also well-maintained. In fact they raked up the leaves in it while we were there. Each site has WiFi and it was good enough to stream. It is very quiet yet close enough to drive to beaches or Calabash for seafood (everywhere seemed to be 15 to 20 miles away). Beaches had the bigger chain supermarkets. We encountered no problems and everyone was very friendly. We don't watch much TV, but picked up at least 20 channels with our antenna. Cable was available if you purchase the use of their cable box ($3 I think). You do have to take your trash to the dumpster at the entrance. Many of the sites are long-term, but all of them were clean and neat and had quiet friendly people. Disconnect your tow vehicle at the office when you check in. Use a regulator for your water hookup-they have strong water pressure. We will definitely stay there again if in that area. - C_JONES

What a lovely place. So picturesque, quiet and beautiful. Worth the little bit of extra driving if you want to visit North Myrtle Beach. The owners are so very pleasant, and laid back. A good amount of space between campers. Lots to do at the campground, horseshoes, corn hole, pool, wooded trails, and more. PLUS a winery right on property, with beautiful well kept grounds everywhere. Go do a wine tasting, and buy some local honey, jams, and more. Wish we had more time just to hang out at the campgrounds. Next time we will plan for that. The only negative was the dirt roads, and dirt pad. If you have a clean rig or car, you won't after a few days. But it's very well kept and the sites are mostly level. - Diane and Tom

Carrollwoods RV Park and Grapefull Sisters Winery. Tabor City, NC.
Despite the rain, it was a quiet, peaceful stay. Everyone was so friendly. Do the wine tasting....it is all so good. A long history to this property and the grapes they grow. We got a LOT of rain so there was some standing water on the gravel site but the staff worked hard with pumps to get it cleared out. I’ll be back! - Jess25

We have stayed here twice and love the lake. White Lake is clear, clean and safe. 95% of Camp Clearwater is permanent/seasonal residents. The overnight camping section is relatively small. The sites are all pull through, sandy, full hookups. The sites are long enough, but fairly narrow and close to each other. It was not a problem for us because we did not have anyone directly on either side. The bath houses are gorgeous and clean. There are basketball, volleyball, playgrounds and an arcade. But the big draw is the lake. The camp is cash or check only-no credit cards. - Kathyva
Apr 2018 - $35.00
Check in staff was very friendly. We picked up a lot of trash on our site before parking and had to move tables in order to park. Lots of unsupervised children (some barely able to reach the pedals) operating golf carts. On the site next to us a group of teens on spring break without supervision - park staff did talk to them. Did have new lighted electrical pedestals which were nice. Probably will not camp there again. - Dan and Ann

My husband and I camped at Camp Clearwater due to its close proximity to the White Lake Fall Half Iron Man starting/finishing point. The overnight section of the campground was only about 50% full. It took us a little time to get into our site due to it being a tight squeeze between trees. We felt that the spots were a little narrow (we prefer larger, more private sites), but we had room to put out our awning. The utilities were very easy to access, and the site was fairly level. Everyone we met was very friendly, and overall we enjoyed our stay. However, I simply don't understand how they don't accept credit cards..?? I only visited the bathhouse once, and its condition left a little to be desired. Our site location was fairly quiet and relaxing - sites near the trash compactor and/or the main roads definitely would've been more noisy. Bonus for the campground encouraging recycling! We plan to stay at Camp Clearwater again in the future. - Megan McGrath

Campground very big with pull thru long sites and plenty of space between sites which I really liked. nice place to ride bikes, paved trail around large lake. only down side would be it is about 30 minute drive to the main beach area. We camped during the off season and enjoyed how quiet the place was and relaxing. We would return and stay longer next time because it was an 8 hour drive to get there from our home. - billreedred
