Overall Rating:

This is a small well maintained park right on the Tuckasegee River. There were a lot of retirees and month or more residents who came to the NC mountains for the cooler weather. The sites were big and there was a dividing fence on either side with nice mature bushes and trees. There is a very nice walking path right near the river with steps to the water every so often. The ONLY negative is the Great Smoky Mtn Expressway is right across the river and the traffic is non-stop at all hours thanks to Harrah's Casino in nearby Cherokee, NC. Tubing or Kayaking would be great here and there are local tubing businesses that will even pick up the tubes from the campground. The nice folks who own and run this campground can't do anymore to make it nicer. If you are searching for piece and quiet, it's a mixed bag. But as a base to explore the area you can't do much better! We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Most of the sites back up to the Tuckaseegee River which is very nice behind your camper. Some of the sites are very muddy in places after rain. They need more gravel and larger patios. They also have a walking trail by the river which is nice. Great Smokey Mountain RR comes through the edge of the campground twice a day. Kids love watching the train go by. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here several times - especially during football season as our grandson plays for WCU. We find the staff to be some of the most accommodating and friendly staff that we have encounter in 16 years of camping . WSE and cable all worked fine but the wifi was spotty (especially on the weekend when lots of people were at the CG. Only used the bathroom one time but it was spotless. There are only 2 negatives to the campground - there is no AT&T cell service (you can go 1 mile east or west and have service. There is also quite a bit of road noise and traffic can make it difficult to get onto the highway - especially if you are pulling a trailer behind you. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park, very friendly folks, sites wide but a little difficult to get in and out of. The bridge coming in off of 74 is a little tight. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a small campground, which only caters to "nice" campers, which are less than 10 years old. The grounds are very nice, well-kept and neat. There is a shelter where small groups can gather or use for cookouts. We were there at the end of the season, so the store was not well stocked. One employee (manager?) was somewhat moody, being friendly and chatty one moment and cool and businesslike the next. All staff were pleasant and not difficult to deal with. Dogs MUST be kept on a leash. Management WILL let you know about it, if they aren't. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be prepared to send a picture of your rig if it is more than 10 years old. Management wants to maintain an upscale appearance and does not want campers that may not be well-maintained. They cited vans with air conditioners hanging out of windows and other "unacceptable" rigs that have been turned away.

All sites are backin, one side to a river the other to the Great Smoke Mountain RR used by a tourist train. A steam engine occasionally goes by, neat! The road and sites are gravel with a cement patio on the site. There in one straight road through the CG no turnaround at the end for RVs. The road is wide enough for backing in, the river side is blind. There are bushes and trees in all the sites so be careful backing in. The cable TV, 50a, water & sewer all worked fine. Our rooftop dish worked through the trees. Our Verizon hotspot didn't work well, the phone did. The CG WiFi worked most of the time. The staff is VERY friendly and had a free BBQ meal and music Saturday night. There are many seasonal or long term RVs there and are very well kept. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Wi fi not working, cable was terrible, it came and went out, very aggravating. Camp hosts didn't follow-up with problems. Road noise from highway. Outsiders occasionally came into park that weren't staying there. Muddy site when raining. When they mow you have to move everything. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent staff (co-managing couples). Park is on the river. Sites large, privacy fences between site. Easy access to river trail and river. Wifi not the greatest unless close to office. Restrooms sparkling clean. Good Laundry facilities with good prices. Great Park. we will return! We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Rafting close by. Casino 8 miles away. Not much in the way of close by restaurants. Try Jose's Southwestern grill (closest). Beautiful Western NC mountains.

Very clean park. We were greeted when we arrived and shown our site before trying to back in. Staff was fantastic. River was right behind us with steps leading down to the shore. The only downside was iffy WiFi. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 10 days, at the far back end of the lot in site 36. We were greeted with American flags displayed at every site post, due to the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, which was a nice treat. We were able to fit a 30' into this spot (though it's one of the smallest). Backing in was a bit difficult, since the slope of the lot against the railroad means there isn't much clearance. Plus the concrete picnic pad makes for very tight maneuvering. The biggest issue with staying here was traffic! It's right across the river from US-74, and it's moderately busy 24 hours. In addition, there's a sloped uphill road on the other side of the train tracks that gets a lot of traffic. With the a/c on; however, it's not too much of an issue. I thought the train might be a problem, but in the ten days we were there we only saw it three times, always in the late morning/early afternoon hours, so don't worry about it waking you up. Like another reviewer said, the only thing that runs on it is a historic rail line tour. We could not get a direct wireless signal here using Verizon Mifi, but we could get a signal using a cell booster. No cell phone service by itself, though. The campground hosts were wonderful, and did everything possible to make us feel at home. If we ever visit the Smokies again, we would stay here for sure. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Excellent proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains compared to other campgrounds a little closer in that charge twice as much and have half the star rating. Can be a little far to attractions in the northern part of the park, but good for mid/lower park sights. Closest Walmart is in Sylva (about 20 minutes away), and Cherokee is right up the road.

We spent a month, so our nightly rate reflects a monthly price discount. This is a very nice campground with large level sites. All sites are back-in, but big-rig friendly with plenty of room to maneuver. There is very easy access from US 441/74. There is a walking trail along the Tuckaseegee River and river access for fishing, rafting or swimming. The guest hosts couldn't have been nicer--very helpful, friendly and welcoming! Only downside is some road noise and no pool but, overall, we liked this campground very much and would definitely stay there again. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

No cell coverage for AT&T however Verizon works, no WiFi coverage provided. Sites could use a lot of attention in the form of weed control on the gravel sites. There's a Train track that borders the rear property line but no night traffic to be concerned for. The road noise is bit much at heavy traffic times. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very clean park with mostly seasonal stay here. The sites are all gravel and level. Cell phone service with at&t will not work here. The only bad thing is the road noise, very busy. Will camp here again when in area. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice campground. Very Clean. Bathhouses are perfect. Customer service is wonderful and very friendly. You feel very welcome and like you are part of a family. Situated on the River with a nice river walk and picnic tables. Fire rings at each site with fences between each site for a little privacy. The only negative is noise from the busy highway. This is by far outweighed by the wonderful staff and very well kept grounds. Many fun things to do in the area. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
