I have stayed here previously and it is my destination park. It is a large campground with permanent manufactured homes, transient workers and some over nighters. The grounds are clean, spaces adequate and quiet from about 10 pm to 5:30 am. KOA is about the only other park I have stayed at, but I like this one better. Ownership change a few years ago and the new owners are just as nice as the old ones. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

As stated in other reviews, the sites are set up door to door, which makes for some close quarters if both neighbors are in large motorhomes (especially with slides on both sides). The sites are gravel, and most are fairly level. But the roads are extremely dusty, and our coach looked like we had crossed a desert when we pulled into our site. Power and the water pressure were exceptionally stable, even when the daytime temps hit 101 degrees. The sewer pipes are close together, which caused us to remove our neighbors hose in order to unscrew ours from the inlet when we departed. The owners were friendly and very helpful, especially when I called to make my reservation during one of their busiest times. There is plenty to see and do nearby, and Bismark has just about anything you might need. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Do not hesitate to make the drive north to Washburn and Stanton to visit the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, the Knife River Indian Village, and Fort Mandan. Then in Mandan be sure to see Fort Abraham Lincoln and On The Slant Indian Village. In this area there is a wealth of historical things to see.

We spent three nights here. It is very close to the city and our relatives. The place was clean and pretty, but not spacious. We never saw the staff because it was self-register (we had a phone reservation). Good wifi. We would recommend staying here to others. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Interior roads are dirt and sites are gravel/grass. Sites are cozy but it worked. The owner is great and provides great customer service. The bathhouse is tight. So tight that the paper towels at the hand washing station had to be installed about 6 feet above the floor. Works for me but not so much for kids. Lots of space for dog walking or just for walking. Close enough to town to be convenient and just far enough to be quiet. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed one night in this very nice RV park; we are novices to the RV camping world and advised the owner of this. He was very helpful. He also came around a couple of hours after our set up, to make sure all was well. This is a very clean and quiet place. Our site was spacious with lots of trees and had a fire pit and a picnic table. It is older and does not have all the new amenities, but there is a small store and a playground. It is up on a hill so you can overlook Bismarck--just far enough away but,not far from gas stations, restaurants and shops...in Lincoln or Bismarck. We have a dog and pets are welcome here. There is not a specific dog area, but, there are many areas to walk around the park. If you are looking for a quiet, clean and pleasant place....this is the place for you! We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for two days over the 4th of July. A quiet place with grave drives and campsites. The sites are very close together but that was not a problem for us. We were comfortable. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a nice little campground. Clean and well kept. Adjacent to a mobile home park, but they are nice and well kept. We were in spot 11 and had good satellite reception. Wifi was mostly good, but a little slow at times. Very friendly owner and very helpful when calling in for the reservation and even came over and visited with us at our site. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is difficult to rate because it is an older RV park with a number of permanent an semipermanent residents and a row of very nice mobile homes. Sites are gravel and fairly level with sparse grass, a picnic table, and some have fire rings with wood. In initial appearance, it barely rates as satisfactory but it is very quiet and peaceful, about 3 miles from I-94 but with very easy access. There are fule stops between the park and the highway and Walmart & restaurants about 1 mile away. It has little by way of amenities other than a playground but it is unusually peaceful and quiet. We stopped to rest after several days of travel, spending two relaxing nights here. While we would not make an extended stay here, we consider it a gem for a few days of peace and rest. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of those parks that alternate pull through sites so our neighbors faced the opposite direction as our rig. This means that our door opened to the door of the next site and the water hookup was shared with the site on the other side. The "Y" on the water hydrant was broken for our site and when I informed the office she reached in a coffee can and handed me a new one; while it was easy to fix I don't think we should have had to do it ourselves. When my husband was the maintenance man at the RV park, he would have fixed it not the camper. I can look out my door and see the neighbor sitting on her sofa. Sites are too close but it was easy to pull in. It's good enough for one night but we will find somewhere else to stay next time. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate is for a 30 amp FHU pull-through site. I have to confess that my review may be influenced by the trailer about 8 feet away that had a yelping dog the whole time we were here, or by the dog waste that I stepped in just outside our RV.

This park, in an industrial area east of town, is primarily a long-term stay park with a very-few short-term sites. If you make reservations you will immediately be charged with one nights stay. If you decide not to stay, it will cost you.

Check in was quick and we were shown our site, very close to a long-term camper with a dog (see above). We thought that the site was very close, but at least one side was fairly open, until another short-term camper was parked on the other side, very close. We had a view of them cooking dinner about three feet away. We were next to the restroom which also had an outdoor dish washing area. So, we had folks walking past our rig all evening going to the bathroom. We could also watch them washing their dishes as we ate dinner.

On the plus side, we could listen to trains all night long. There was some traffic noise, but not bad.

We did not use the facilities but did use the laundry. It was $2 for wash and the same for dry. It works well and was fairly clean. The park WiFi was good when it worked. We were able to get satellite with our portable dish. We had good Verizon voice and data.

We certainly would not stay here again. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Excellent location for exploring Bismarck and the surrounding area. I have had Wi-Fi in several parks but this is the best I have ever had. Lots of trees. They scraped the top and the spot was tight for our 44' RV with not much room left for parking the pick-up. Seemed like a lot of workers lived there. Quiet at night. There is an area that they store campers and this was a good area to run the dogs. Staff was helpful and friendly. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pleasant efficient staff who led us to our site. Camp has mostly RV's housing local workers, which presented no problem. There are only a few spots for short term campers so we'd advise making a reservation. The gravel lot was large enough and level. Grounds were clean and well maintained. It was quiet at night. Reasonably priced. Would stay here again for an overnight stop. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Great office staff. Guided us to our space. Very level site. Park did have unpaved roads and with the rain it was very muddy. Sites are gravel and have grass at each site. Great park located close to downtown Bismarck. Lots of seasonal workers parked here so there was lots of traffic in and out of the park. We have stayed here several times and will always stay here when we come through Bismarck. We camped at Hillcrest Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
