Overall Rating:

A disappointing and overpriced campground in a beautiful, isolated area, and perhaps it gets business because it is the only local option. Though the website shows numerous lovely photos of the water, only a tiny bit could be viewed from the campground, and only far off in the distance. A vehicle is required to reach the cove and harbor, or campers can take a long walk on the gravel road with an uphill return. Sites offered were clustered around a house on grassy fields, and required a lot of leveling. On a positive note, there was plenty of hot water in the shower, and one ir two TV channels could be picked up by antenna to get the news. Bathrooms all were in need of cleaning, with grime and full trash cans. WiFi signal was extremely weak. I would not stay here again. We camped at Whale Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Campground has space for larger rigs (mostly class C while we were there) but 40 footers might have a problem. Access is off hwy up reasonably steep gravel road. Sites are out in the open, in the scrub brush or up on a top level where we were.

Our 20' TT and van made it up to the top level, but I had to back up to our site a short distance. If you don't know how to back your rig up, this area could be challenging. Sharp turn exiting the upper area, but again we had no problems getting down.

We really enjoyed our stay. The owner and her family were extremely helpful and fun. We could certainly see why another review site gave them their 2016 Certificate of Excellence.

But understand some RVers might consider this campground a bit "rustic". We loved it - just the right mix of amenities (great staff, food truck, etc.) and things to see. We camped at Whale Cove Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Whale watching at the cove or tour boat, "Balancing Rock" worth a look.

Ferry to Tiverton (Long Island) and Brier Island is $7 Cdn for both and include return trip. Check schedules for times.
