Great campground close to town. Our site was water and 30 amp. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Visitor center at campground with info on town and surrounding area. Some pull through on upper level and back in sites with lots of room between sites. Was surprised as we had heard this park sites were very close. Lots of good restaurants in town with great views of the harbor. We camped at Lunenburg Board of Trade Campground in a Motorhome.

RV Park is a 6, but this campground is all about location. W/E site near the blockhouse. Had to switch sites to find a level spot, but the visitor center folks were great. If you do arrive after hours, just pick a spot and check in the next morning. Sites are close together and there is Wifi, but the walk to town was about 4 blocks. Great location. Town of Lunenburg is worth the visit, and we were only in the RV Park to sleep. We camped at Lunenburg Board of Trade Campground in a Motorhome.

Set in the town of Lunenburg. Waterfront fantastic, great seafood as well as anything you might want. Right in the town, so you can walk everywhere as long as you don't mind hills. Park clean and very quiet. Wifi was out of service the first day, but was being worked on. Good the second day. No campfires due to it being in town and bylaws of no fires in town limits. Lots of 1 way narrow streets to navigate. Not bad if you don't follow GPS and get directions from campground prior to coming. We camped at Lunenburg Board of Trade Campground in a Travel Trailer.

If you don't expect much then you won't be disappointed. Very small, cramped sites. Very few sewer hookups. Looks like a parking lot. Garbage compound disgusting. Shower block not very enticing. Probably one of the worst RV parks we've stayed at and we've been all over Canada and the USA. And expensive. The RV Park in Palm Springs, California was cheaper and with all amenities. Very disappointed so we won't be back and we'll warn all our friends. We camped at Lunenburg Board of Trade Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This campground was actually nicer than we expected, but we'd read some pretty mixed things about it so that's probably why. Also, our site 17 was excellent, with plenty of space between our neighbors, room for our 42' motorhome, tow car, and plenty of space left over. Some other sites (mostly the shorter sites) looked much less nice though... closer together, no grass, camping area shared with visitor center walkway. As others suggested, we took the bypass route 332 to Sawpit Road, to Blockhouse Road, and parked along the side of the road while checking in. It worked out perfectly. The campground WiFi worked surprisingly well during the day, but slowed to a crawl in the evenings. Our AT&T had strong roaming LTE signal and worked quite well. There's a nice multi-use walking/biking trail with water access nearby that we used for longer dog walks. We stayed 3 nights which apparently is considered a long stay. We would definitely stay here again, as it was great being able to walk the entire town right from the campground, as long as you're OK with some hill climbing! We camped at Lunenburg Board of Trade Campground in a Motorhome.

The upper CG sites are larger and needed for a 40" motorhome. It's on a hilltop but any views were small between trees & building behind us. But the location is perfect for walking down into town. The turnover was high, nearly everyone stayed only 1-2 nights--understandable given the price at C$55 (incl tax) and the lack of amenities. But we'd stay here again if visiting the town, just for it's convenience. BE CAREFUL WITH GPS DIRECTIONS! Our Garmin sent us thru tiny streets, one impossible to turn onto with a 40' motorhome towing a car! Instead you should come nearly all the way on Hwy 332 to Sawpit Rd, then onto Blockhouse Rd. The office is past the RV park entrance at the top of the hill; big rigs should just pull into the park (and your site if you know it), then go to the office. Many park on the street and go to the office first. We camped at Lunenburg Board of Trade Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Thursday Farmers Market is wonderful--veggies & fruits, bakeries, wine, fish and hot food, plus the usual crafts. Tourist-type shopping in abundance, lots of restaurants, all on the nicely preserved downtown main street. We took in a couple old churches too, as well as a pleasant drive out to Blue Rocks (not visibly blue), pretty bay scenery.

Price is in Canadian $, with taxes was over $52. It seems very pricey for a municipal campground. Some sites are W/E others are W/E/S in 2 adjacent areas. One area is better suited for truck campers, Class-B/C and tents and sites are more distributed, the other can handle much larger rigs but everyone is more or less side by side and fairly close, but adequate room for slideouts. Registration is a the blockhouse shaped building on the corner at the top of the hill which is also the information desk for the area. I do not recommend taking an RV into the old town area as the streets are very narrow and the hills incredibly steep and current street construction in the area have some street detours. The waterfront is in walking distance, but the hills may be too much for some. The folks at the desk were very friendly and helpful. The area is stunning and despite the price, I would come back. Tips for other Campers:

The old town Lunenburg is in its entirety a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearly all building are 19th Century. The waterfront and harbor is a big draw and homeport for the Bluenose II, many very good restaurants and shops all within a block or 2 of the waterfront. Horse drawn carriage tours and sailboat excursions. A short drive to Mahone Bay and other places of interest.

Great location! Easy short drive into town. All sites are back-in, but even the largest of rigs will fit. No trees. Roads are a bit tight, but you shouldn't have any problem if you pay attention. We were camped there during Canada's Labour Day weekend and the park was full! glad we make reservations well in advance. Gravel site, fairly level. Great Wi-Fi! I know this website says do not include the tax when telling of the daily rate, but with the tax it was $55.20 a day. The park is very simple and very close to town. Walking distance actually. The park is big rig friendly with no trees to scratch your rig and it has gravel pads and interior road. We would stay here again..... Rate is CAN$ for E/W overflow site in upper lot. No-frills but adequate and perfectly located to walk to town. The campground is very busy and used by large motorhome caravans, so reservations are advised. The staff was very helpful and worked hard so we could extend our stay. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Lunenburg Board of Trade Campground in a Motorhome.

Take the Lunenburg walking tour as soon as you can upon arrival. Our guide's family were original settlers, so the background he provided really helped us to better plan and appreciate the rest of our visit.

We had FHU in the upper lot, if we would come again we would ask for the lower lot with E/W for the great water views. Gravel sites, soft water and good power. Tough walk up and down hill but the town is beautiful. We used the $1 a day WiFi which worked very well. Nothing fancy but the town is the reason for coming here. Due to a reservation misunderstanding we were given a full hookup site at dry price. Sites in the upper full hookup & W/E section are close but the campground is not the attraction, the town is, and all is within walking distance. Overall it is pricey for what it is but the location cannot be equaled. We took the $1.00 per day Wi-Fi, which works but is somewhat slow. This simple grass & gravel campground was a fine base to explore the wonderful town of Lunenburg. Wide gravel driveways gave good access to a reasonably level gravel pad on a grass site. Although a bit narrow, it was quite sufficient for our 37' MH and toad. Neighbors were close, but they were all friendly. The water, 30 amp, and sewer connections were convenient. The town of Lunenburg provides free WiFi up to 300 mb, but it was only $5 to upgrade to unlimited for our week-long stay, and it was both reliable and fast. We did not use the bathrooms. With a discount of one free night for each two paid, the (CDN$31 = US$23) price seemed a good value for the amenities offered. We camped at Lunenburg Board of Trade Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Lunenburg is a short walk from the campground and offers myriad attractions like the Fisheries Museum, several galleries, numerous restaurants, etc. I especially enjoyed a late breakfast at the Savvy Sailor Cafe. There is also a good bike trail that starts just behind the campground and runs 9 miles to Mahone Bay and connects there to further trails.
