Some great secluded spots, some parking lot slots. We had #51 and it was great.
WiFi is great in school me places and unreachable in others. It was just useless at our slot but great by restrooms and pancake hut. Owner needs a few more access points installed.
Wood and ice delivered, small heated pool. Nice playground. Friendly staff. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Motorhome.

The campground was clean accessible and well laid out. Owners offered many services and a nicely stocked camp store. In ground pool was clean and quite refreshing. Canoe and kayak rentals available and well used. Especially fun was the daily opened ice cream shop. Well worth a visit! We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a review aimed towards anyone who ENJOYS the great outdoors of camping. Well this IS NOT IT. My wife and I stayed at this campground for 1 week and it surely was not enjoyable. We have no kids, they are grown and on their own so it's just us. We enjoy quiet and private camping, this KOA isn't it. The sites are very small and you are on top of the camper next to you. We have a 27' TT and I had a difficult time backing into my site, and I tow trailers for a living. Basically if you have a camper larger than 20' then you will be camping in an open field. As for the noise, if you enjoy camping in the middle of the highway then great, but we don't. The campground is roughly 100 yards from the major highway that goes into Halifax, and let me tell you it is very loud. Sitting outside to enjoy the great outdoors is non existent. You can not have a conversation with the person next to you without screaming. We stayed in our camper all week, except when we left the campground to explore. We had to keep the AC on to drown out the noise from the highway. Oh and their must be an airport close by, because we also heard planes flying over as well. So need less to say, my wife and I will not be staying here ever again. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We spent two weeks here, using it as a base to explore Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. This is a family friendly CG. Many things for kids to do and many kids on weekends, If you don't like young kids around this is not for you. This is a good central location to tour from. But, the general maintenance and cleanliness were barely sufficient. Three washers and two driers were out of order for the whole two weeks. The owner didn't seem particularly concerned, possibly because most guests seem to be there for just a couple of days. The trash dump was messy and not kept clean. Having said that we might well stay there again but be more picky about the site. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

KOA discount for eight nights. Site was back-in, gravel, level, FHU with 30 amp. The adjacent sites were very close. Verizon cell/internet reception was good. Trees blocked DishTV reception. The park wifi was inconsistent; fast at times and slow at other times. The park interior road was narrow, curvy, and bumpy. Dissatisfied with the park because they hosted a loud karaoke night that went well beyond quiet hours. We will look elsewhere before staying at this park again. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Motorhome.

The staff was excellent and the sites are level, gravel lots with some shade depending on your location...as with most KOA's the sites are close but not too bad....the roads are narrow but manageable with our 36' with toad, watch out for the children and people walking....all services worked well, ATT signal was fine and we used our hotspots for wifi, although their wifi was ok at times....only got 2 channels with our antenna....the showers, restrooms and laundry were all clean with plenty of hot water....once again this is a very family oriented park with a lot for the kids to do...this campground is a great location for visiting the Halifax area....we would stay here again..... Okay KOA. It is extremely busy in the summer with RV rentals and boat/bike rentals so it can be tight getting in and out. Level gravel 30/50 amp full hook up sites available. They only have WIFI at the office. Most Canadian campgrounds have good WIFI at each site. A couple of local channels and good cell reception. About 35 minutes from downtown Halifax. Not very much curb appeal. Garbage overflowing. Equipment and pallets laying around. Seasonal or long term people have very messy sites. And horrible wifi. Either wouldn't work or didn't work. And big rocks on edges of sites. Saw 3 people hit them trying to pull out of their sites. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Motorhome.

Sites are too close. Site 19 and 21 share a driveway. As a matter of fact, site 19 shouldn't even be a site. Wifi is horrible (staff blamed it on the providers). Bathrooma clean but not enough for the amount of campers. Not well maintained. They have quad bike rentals but the only place for kids to ride is on the road. I wouldn't stay again. We stayed here in a 41' DP. Site E13 a "pull through" but if they were full, due to one way road circling CG, you'd need to back out to get anything more than 30 out of there. We were there when they opened and WIFI advertised but not yet available and no discount for the lack of it. Trash bin near our site wasn't out yet so had to walk to check in area with trash. They were friendly and had they done a better job getting ready to be open, we'd give a little higher mark. This was the only park we could find open in the area on May 1st. We made our reservations 13 days in advance. When we checked in and after paying for our stay, the staffer told us that they didn’t have a 30 amp site available when we made our reservation so we would have to take a 50 amp site and deposit $50 for the 50-to-30 amp adapter that would allow us to have power. The individual who took our reservation made no mention of this fact to us. We should been given an option to accept this or not. The office does not open until 9 AM, which will likely delay a camper's departure if they had to obtain the adapter. Moving campers seems to be the norm for this campground. Two campers we talked to said they had to move THREE times in their relatively short stays. We noticed many others moving also. Staffers encountered were not friendly, except for one of the fellows who work outside. One drove through our campsite saying that he was taking a shortcut and laughed about it. Sites in the E section are adjacent to the dump station which emits a foul odor when waste is dumped. The smell permeates the area as well as recreational vehicles, which is totally unacceptable. The Wi-Fi is slow and spotty. No escort is provided to the sites. No propane --- the staffer told us that the closest place to obtain propane was 30 minutes away. She did not offer the name of the business. No fishing bait --- the campground is located next to a river. We asked the owner about bait, the only comment he offered was “no unfortunately” and kept on walking. Grass around campsites and throughout the campground was not trimmed. Some grass was as high as two feet. Roads had many potholes --- some were filled about halfway into our stay. The road and sites throughout the campground need maintenance in some form or another. In light of the present conditions and operational procedures, we would not camp here again and recommend that others look elsewhere as well. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Motorhome.

If you have 4 children under the age of 10, this is the perfect campground for you. There are a ton of kids' activities, a great playground, a pool, bikes and other toys kids can use to ride around on, a game room, pancake breakfast, etc. Also the campground is located on a lovely scenic river so kids can play in the river too. If you do not have kids you might not like this campground on a summer weekend - it is packed with families enjoying themselves and the sites are close together. For us, it was not a good fit - too noisy, hard to walk the dogs (both because of lack of real estate and interest from all the kids), no privacy. The campground seems to be well-kept and has the usual amenities. We used the Wi-Fi and it worked fine; we did not use the bathrooms or showers. One last note: this campground also rents RVs, so in addition to all the family activity there is a lot of shuttling of RVs in and out the only road. This is not very tranquil. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Motorhome.

The park staff was friendly and helpful. This is a busy little park north of Halifax. Sites are small and close together. We spent 7 nights in the park. When it rains there are a lot of areas within the park which accumulate water as the drainage is poor. To me it appeared that they packed too many sites into a small area. In addition they rent Cruise Canada RVs from the site which increases traffic congestion, particularly in the area around the office. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Motorhome.

This is an older park with narrow roads. We had to be very alert moving through this park. We arrived after a good rain and many of the sites had a lot of standing water puddles. Many of the puddles were close to the plug-in points that make plugging your RV in a little dangerous (water and electricity no match). This park needs its roads widened and sites renovated with gravels to reduce the standing water issue. Staff was friendly and accommodating. WIFI was acceptable, but would come and go at times. Would probably not stay here again. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived late where we quickly found an envelope with our name and information. The directions to our site were easy to follow which enabled us to set up quickly and settle in for the night. The site was large enough for us to set up a 10x10 canopy and level with good access to the hookups. In the morning we were quickly checked in where the staff was friendly and courteous. The bathrooms are clean and spacious, with each being it's own private room. We would stay here again. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Travel Trailer.
