A few miles from interstate, but easy to get to. Park is a big open grassy field for regular RVers. Hard to tell how may it accommodates. Quite a few permanent spots. They do provide escort to your site, however the person who was the escort at check-in wasn't that knowledgeable of RV limitations when maneuvering around obstacles. We were lucky to be taken the back way as the person before us was still trying to get into their site. Like I mentioned above about being knowledgeable, the escort drove to the site, indicated which one and drove off. The main entrance has a very tight turn if you have a big rig--we have a 45' 5er--doable, but VERY tight with trees on one side and the utilities for a very nice Class A on the other side. Most sites seemed to be pull through, but I believe a few were back-ins. Water electric only, but a dump station at entrance. We camped shortly after all the rains hit the area. Very lucky on timing as had we been there during or right after, we would have sunk into the ground. Remnants of others suffering that fate. Unfortunate for all as the rig gets buried and the site gets torn up. We camped at Gotta Getaway (Formerly Lazy J RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here one night on our way through. We arrived after the office was closed, but they had everything waiting for us when we arrived. Power and water was good and the campground was quiet. We would stay here again. We camped at Gotta Getaway (Formerly Lazy J RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice campground, well laid out and maintained by husband & wife team. Biggest problem, grass sites very unlevel and soft and although it was a pull through, the neighbors were very close. No sewer connection, but owner does come with his "honey wagon" and pumps you out Mondays & Thursdays. There is a small pond on the property to "catch & release", the nearby town of Bellevue had virtually nothing, but only about 15 miles up the road was the town of Sandusky on the banks of Lake Erie where there was EVERYTHING. We camped at Gotta Getaway (Formerly Lazy J RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

This campground is a "jewel" along U.S. Route 20 and worth the 17 mile detour from I-80. Wonderful and helpful staff. Although there appears to be many seasonal and longer-term residents, the campground is remarkably clean. The internal roads are a bit narrow but navigable. We're here for a month. Nice shaded grass site. Lovely, clean park. Quiet. Nice amenities. Clean pool, showers and amenities. Close to town. Well maintained with a mix of seasonal and short term folks. No sewer, but if you stay a while, they do pump out in Monday and Thursday. Pleasant park. Lots of long timers, but nice folks. No sewer hookups and dump station is hard to access. I think they offer dump service. My site was narrow. My awnings were very close to a park roadway. Otherwise, a nice park. We camped at Gotta Getaway (Formerly Lazy J RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

First and foremost, use website directions or call. Both my GPS's were wrong. Parked on grass so if raining, use discretion. Nice park but no sewer at site. A little tight for a 40 foot MH with a tow vehicle, but you can do it. We just did an overnight here....wifi as fair and direct tv good. We stayed 5 nights for our annual anniversary get away, so we could drive to several Lake Erie outings half hour away. This is a very pretty family campground, well run with very friendly owners and staff. While the sites are all grassy, they are very level and many sites give ample shade, as ours did, particularly in the afternoon when it is needed in hot weather. The pool is immaculately clean. The office is large with a nice selection of items for sale and is connected to a very large recreation/game room. There's a catch and release fishing pond away from the campsites but on beautiful open-spaced land surrounded by trees. They provide sewer pump-out 2x a week + have a dump station since no sewer hook-ups. The one and only reason this is not a 10 star review is because of the very limited Wi-fi provided. There are no routers within the park so the hot spot is at the office and rec.center. Only e-mail and news reading are available, no downloading or streaming of any kind. I could not even look up information from a Google search nor be on Facebook, but it was MY choice not to use my phone data since I'm not addicted to phone & computer use, LOL. The camp name suited us perfectly: Gotta Getaway for us to reconnect with solitude. This campground provided it, with the exception of a train whistle each morning around 8 a.m. We would definitely camp here again. This was our first time out in our new travel trailer! It was a pretty spot, but a bit noisy with traffic from 20. The bathrooms were fine the first night, but the toilets were all backing up the second day. The shower was clean, but it was all a bit dated. Good location for Sandusky attractions and the Seneca Caverns. Good playground area was easily visible from most sites. Wifi was a bit weak and spotty. We would probably stay here again. We camped here for 5 days over the Labor Day weekend.
The good: All mowed up and no trash lying around. Office/store area new, with large recreational hall, laundry, restrooms (no showers). Large pool with a pavilion adjacent. A catch and release fishing pond. A large pavilion next to a very large grass area. By the pool there are three newer individual shower/toilet/sink rooms with their own doors. One was out of service. A large modern playground. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. One section of the campground is mainly seasonals. This campground changed owners 3 seasons ago. New owners have been working on making improvements. The owners had numerous activities for the campers and their children on each day of the weekend, plus bands Saturday and Sunday.
The not so good: All sites are grass, with shared electric/water pedestals (2 units per) and a picnic table & fire ring for each site. No sewer hookups, Just one dump station. The sites are considered pull-thrus, but you have to driving across the lawn to get onto your site. 28 campers and RV's were stacked together like sardines. Two rows, back to back, with each rig offset by the space for picnic table and fire ring. There was an old shower house near our area. It had 2 shower stalls for men and 2 shower stalls for women, along with toilet stalls. Wifi was basically useless. It couldn't handle email that contained photos or graphics. Forget about checking your Facebook account. It was a hot weekend, upper 90's. On Saturday our main section lost power, and it was not restored for the rest of the weekend. A reported power panel melt down. Because we were booked until Wednesday, the owners moved us to a vacant seasonal site that had power. An "A" for effort to the owners. We will probably not camp here again, since we like full hookup sites, and more space between us and our camping neighbors. And the security of knowing that the campground power will not go out on hot summer days. We camped at Gotta Getaway (Formerly Lazy J RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

A very nice CG, lots of grass and well planned except for the entrance. The sites were not cramped, about 20% permanent campers all were maintained and well kept. Paul the owner is very personable and the CG shows owner pride and concern for his customer. Sewer was not available however an easy access dump station located just before you depart the CG was clean and easy to access. The CG has a very large swimming pool and store that was well stocked. ***Warning, Warning*** The driveway leading into the park is very steep causing the spare tire bracket on the rear bumper to bend upward on my new (6 month old) 5th Wheel. IMPORTANT when pulling into the CG, if your rig is 20 ft or longer DO NOT approach driveway head on, YOU MUST, again... YOU MUST (Pay close attention to this part) approach from a 45 degree angle. I spoke with Paul about the damage to the tire bracket and expressed my concern. He was very accommodating offered to remove the bracket, took it to his shop, straightened the bracket, repainted and remounted the spare tire. I was pleasantly surprised and appreciative. He knows the concerns about the driveway, and my only reason for my less then 10 rating for the CG. My compliments and rating for the owner Paul is an 10+. We would highly recommend this CG for cleanliness, organization, value, customer service is +++ and very pleasant atmosphere. We camped at Gotta Getaway (Formerly Lazy J RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground had the best reviews within 90 minutes of Cleveland Clinic. Very nicely kept grounds, with manicured expanses of lawn, and a pool and playground equipment that looked brand new. Sites were grass with no bare spots or mud. Many seasonals, all very late-model and extremely well-kept. A LOT of kids. No sewer hookups. Shared water/elec hookups. At 10am on a Sunday morning, individual/unisex bath/shower rooms' floors had standing water with grass clippings, etc. floating around. Toilet wasn't filthy, but definitely "hover-worthy". Pitiful WiFi. Sites up near the office get the brunt of US20 noise. Pull-thru sites were very wide, but set up kind in a strange "staggered back-to-back" layout, with the back-end of the neighboring camper partially in our site. The way the sites were configured, those neighbors had to walk through our site to get to the pool, playground, etc. Those same neighbors are of the very few who actually use their outside speakers to listen to the radio all afternoon at high volume. Despite calls from us and others, the campground staff didn't do anything. A couple nights we were sitting outside trying to enjoy the fire, but kept getting a real strong whiff of black tank. A couple of us checked around and didn't see anyone leaking - we suspected that maybe the campground's septic leach field was starting to fail or something, since the one-hole dumpstation was at the top of the hill right behind our row of sites. The single driveway into the campground rises very abruptly/steeply from US20 with a bunch of scratch-marks in it. We scraped the rear-end of our 34-foot fiver on the way out. Generally OK, but $38 and no sewer hookup? The next time we might go the extra 20 miles to one of the better parks in Sandusky. We camped at Gotta Getaway (Formerly Lazy J RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

On your way in, if you're eastbound on US20, do NOT follow GoogleMap's directions to go past the campground and turn right on Sand Hill Rd. It's an "oops" in Google's GPS and it'll send you on an absolutely unnecessary 12-mile-detour through the countryside on 9-foot wide "roads", just to bring you in on the westbound lanes. Instead, about a half-mile before Sand Hill Rd, Gotta Getaway is very prominently on your left. Just turn left into it - there's a cut through the boulevard to do that!

A nice park out in the country. Mostly grass sites. No Sewer.
There were a lot of families there and the kids were having a great time.
The sites are staggered so you are not right on top of one another but you are close. Not sure if I would want to be there in a heavy rainstorm.
The entrance is marked with a lot of scrapes in the payment since the driveway climbs dramatically off the highway.
You do get some noise from US 20 but it quiets down at night.
It is a short drive to Sandusky and Cedar Point.
The wi-fi works but is limited by the CG. We camped at Gotta Getaway (Formerly Lazy J RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.
