Overall Rating:

Beautiful county park with many activities. Wonderful campground - looks brand new. Concrete pads, full hook-ups, LOTS of room for our motorcoach and tow, and easy maneuverability. We were here midweek in September so not crowded. Looks like plenty of room even if it were full. No privacy between sites. Had clear sky for satellite TV. Terrific wifi connection. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this county park twice. Entry in to the the park requires the purchase of either a day pass or annual pass. There is one loop with full hookup sites including a dozen or so pull-through sites. The sites are level and the pull-through are concrete. The park roads are paved as well. There is a small playground, a lake, and a few other amenities available at an additional costs within the park. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The office staff couldn’t tell us where to fill our propane tank, but fortunately, the camp host was able to answer the question. We stayed next to a couple that had three small barking dogs that started barking as early as 7:00 in the morning, so the morning quiet hours and number of pet rules were ignored at least with regard to that site. Other than the early morning wake up, things were pretty quiet and nice. This is not a commercial campground. The campground is in the middle of a big state park, so any activities would be found at the beach or in the park, but not in the campground. There were no shade trees on our site, and it was really hot. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

One of our favorite parks and one of the few relatively close to Cincinnati. Relatively small park with roughly a dozen pull through concrete sites and the remainder back in on gravel with the exception of 2 handicap accessible sites that are back in and concrete. Big rig friendly in the full hook up sites, low trees in the other areas might limit access to larger rigs. Easy access to fishing, walking and bicycle trails. No pool facilities but there is a Splash pad for children in the same park that can easily be walked too. New in 2019 they eliminated the requirement for the day or season pass for vehicles and camp sites now come with vehicle passes for the duration of your stay (This was a very positive change!). We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This campground offers a full range of campsite choices. The front area consists of pull-through and back in sites, is newer and has full hook=ups and clean, level concrete pads and patio areas. The area has a few trees but is mostly open and sunny. Remainder of the sites are gravel and grass and appear to be mostly spacious and level, some with with views of the water. Most, if not all, have electric only and plenty shade. A single dump station is at the entrance gate. There are great walking / biking trails throughout the park and campsite areas. Overall, a quiet, lovely setting, considering it is within a congested area. Upon arrival, we were in site 14F, a very nice concrete back-in site. We developed a mechanical problem which required us to have to extend our stay for a few days. Although the park was full, the staff worked to find a suitable electric only site (#3). Initial nightly rate was $70 for site 14F, but the fee dropped to $35 when we moved to site #3. Ohio residents, which we are not, get a huge discount. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

We generally shy away from municipal campgrounds (too tight, inadequate hookups) but this place is a gem. It is part of a very large county park with lots to do and costs $5 a day to come in and out with your car (or $14 for the season). But the campground is excellent, wide, concrete sites, lots of green in between, and full hookups. WIFI is strong, and good satellite reception in our pull through section. Easy to find, well off noisy highways, friendly staff. And close to downtown Cincinnati and all the attractions. We will come back. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed there in 2017 and 2018, already have reservations for 2019. For this review we stayed in one of the back-in sites along the lake, see pictures from back porch, it was excellent. The only problem being that it was a bit too sloped for the jacks to level us so we had to get some ramps from CW, they worked well and we were able to get level. We've been in other sites where we couldn't get level, so if this is a concern, talk to the staff before making a reservation. All the FHU sites are on concrete pads and are very level, but we wanted shade and a site on the lake, so we were very happy with our site. The only other minor issue was the amount of golf carts running around, some driven by 8 year old kids. Overall we enjoyed our stay, we were there nearly 2 weeks and had no issues with power (30A) or water. The staff was friendly and even found a credit on our account from a previous year, so we applied that towards next year's reservation. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Skyline Chili - 6 minutes away - If you've never had "Cincinnati" chili then you must go here, it is fantastic. Graeter's Ice Cream - 10 minutes and LaRosa's pizza - 5 minutes... There are great restaurants all over Cincinnati but these are cheap and great!

Pretty good campground lots of good and some bad parts. Don't count on any help from staff if there is a problem. Made a reservation 5 months in advance and reconfirmed twice more asking for satellite friendly site. It was promised but when we arrived we were under the only tree on the FHU row. No help and no call back to change sites. Still an OK park WiFi worked well and bathrooms were OK, not great but OK. just don't expect any help if there is a problem of any kind. Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 7 nights in May 2018. We paid $276.50 - no tax - plus $14 annual pass. Total cost was $290.50 or $41.50 avg nightly rate. Reservation process online was easy. We had to make a change to our original booking and staff was very helpful over the phone. Upon arrival at the park, the lady at the entry gate was super friendly. This is where we bought our $14 annual pass (which we expected). Upon arrival at the CG office, staff was efficient but not exactly exuberant. I appreciated the irony that they provided a plastic bag to use for recycling. The recycling instructions attached to the plastic bag prohibited plastic bags. This campground is pleasant and the overall park is very pretty. Sites on the perimeter of our loop were back-in gravel sites with sufficient room for our 43' rig and toad. There is a nice amount of grass and space with a tree between most sites. The pull-through sites in the middle of the loop are cement and appear to be a bit longer. All sites include a picnic table and fire pit. Water and sewer hookups worked well. However we had power problems during our entire stay. We notified the staff on Day One. They offered to move us to another site but only until the weekend when the CG would be full and then we'd have to move back to our original site. We didn't move. Instead we reduced our draw running only 1 a/c, etc. Weather was quite warm so it wasn't ideal but we made it work. We had clear sky for direcTV signal. Verizon cell and wifi were OK. There is free campground wifi which seemed to work well but we didn't use it much. The office sells various camp-type items including food/drinks. We had rain while we were there and the water drained well. There are all sorts of stores, restaurants and services within a few miles. If in the area, we would be willing to stay again. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Winton Woods is a large, beautiful park (the CG is only one part). Enjoy the foliage, lake and walking/biking path. Recommend the American Sign Museum which offers a free tour twice a day. It's very fun & nostalgic. Make the trip to the U.S. Air Force Museum in Dayton. It's HUGE. Wear comfy shoes and plan to spend the entire day. They have the Memphis Belle. The free docent-led tours are terrific and will help you not get too overwhelmed.

Not that we would normally go to Cincinnati to camp but we had just picked up our unit and decided to give it the shakedown while still close to the Dealer where we bought it. As it turns out it was a very nice stay and I would stay there again, Close to services. Quiet & clean. Shower early. Restrooms close down for cleaning for about 45 minutes around 9am We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Travel Trailer.

If you happen to stay here or close by you have to Check out Jungle Jim's. Huge meandering store that is a cross between Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. It's just larger and has stuff you would never find in the other two. I don't usually shop but this visit had me go back twice!

Generally very clean, but our fire pit was completely full of ashes when we arrived, and no one ever came to clean it out. The people in the site next to us pulled in front first instead of backing in, so their windshield was facing our drivers side windows. So, no privacy. A porta potty was right across from us. On our third afternoon, our 30 amp electric kept cutting off, even though we weren't using anything except one AC and fridge. It was a very warm day, so this made our last night most uncomfortable. They said there was nothing they could do because they couldn't get an electrician until the next day. Since this is a County owned, very large park, that's really unacceptable. I feel certain the county employs many electricians. Water pressure was not too good either. Took almost 1 hour to fill our freshwater tank. They only have a few sites with full hookups and the rest are 30 amp only, with no water or sewer. Definitely not worth what they charge for 30 amp service and nothing else. It's in a sketchy area, but it is gated. The price includes a $14.00 annual entry fee you are forced to pay. Not sure I would come back. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

This is our second trip since 2015. There is now a splash area for kids. The sites are clean and level. The utilities work great. There is a concrete patio. There is not much shade on full hookups. The 2 mi walking path is always busy and boat rentals are available. We visited downtown CincIncinnati, Ark Encounter, ikea, the basilica in Covington, and Houdini's Escape from the campground. All was within 45 minutes but the road construction near Cincinnati is horrible. It's a nice place to stay to visit all things southern Ohio/Northern Kentucky and we will be back again. Nice place! This is a nice campground close to Cincinnati. Good location to visit the city from - perhaps too close. We stayed over July 4th weekend and the drunks were worse than what we have experienced anywhere. The campground facilities are nice as is the park they are connected to. Service was good from everyone except those who are supposed to enforce quiet hours. The quoted price doesn't reflect the Park entry fee of $10 per day. Lots of gravel tent camping areas with electric only. Some gravel with FHU. Some concrete FHU. Generally a very goood quiet camp with spacoius lots. Since we were on electric only, we had to fill fresh water tank often, our site 42 was far from shower house. Water fill stations were very few and hard to access. However, will stay here again.
