Nicest campground in the area with plenty of amenities and fun things to do with family - very much like a resort. Our site was very good with plenty of room. I do recommend bringing your own drinking water as the water tastes like well water. Other than that, we liked everything about this park. We camped at Lazy River At Granville in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a great campground if you are traveling with kids, which we weren't. There is alot to do and keep kids entertained. The camp sites were a bit close to one another but they were reasonably level and it was a pull through site. We were visiting family in the area so we didn't spend too much time in the park but when we were there it was quiet and pleasant. We had to wear little paper bracelets to identify ourselves as registered campers and I found that annoying, felt like a hospital patient! We have stayed there in the past and would stay there again. We camped at Lazy River At Granville in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed Easter weekend on a Friday. Road in and out is two lane rural. Staff was excellent and always helpful. Campsites offer a mix of trees and open area. Lots of activities for young and old at this campground. Could be more easily labeled a "Funground". Some amenities cost extra. We paid $10 each to do zip line on Saturday morning. The stream is free and our 10 year old had a blast wading out. I found multiple Indian artifacts along the rocky banks. Our pull through site didn't offer a pad or patio but they allowed us to put down our mat in front door area. Cell reception with AT&T was good. Digital TV not so much but we didn't care as there was plenty to do. Lots of activities are planned by the park. We filled our propane tank as we were leaving and staff was very helpful and cost was minimal. We only stayed the night as we had other places to be but we could definitely come back to Lazy River and recommend it highly to campers with kids. We camped at Lazy River At Granville in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The campground offers lots of amenities and activities on site but the small college town of Granville is only 4-5 miles away and is worth the visit if you like small quaint towns and shops. Newark is only 5 miles the other direction and offers plenty of dining and supplies.

Overall Rating:

We love this campground. It's a very family-friendly. Our favorite spots are in the back next to the creek which the kids love to play in. It's only a foot deep max. Our spots are surrounded with mature trees and are huge. You can sit in our spot around the camp fire and watch the kids play in the creek.

The only downside is they are electric and water and cable, no sewer.

This year they added a BMX bike track and laser tag and frisbee golf. There are also adding a new shower house. The current shower house is fine and well kept. It's a nice family run campground. Super great for the kids with lots of activities. It's not as big as some campgrounds but that suits us great. There's a nice place to get snacks and ice cream.

The pool is a little small but the water is always warm and nice, and there's a splash pad right next to it. There's also a zip line and a wire obstacle course.

Very secluded down in a ravine in the trees. Camping the way that it should be. It's family-owned and I think both the daughter and son are involved. Everyone who we've interacted with are good people and the staff is great. We camped at Lazy River At Granville in a Travel Trailer.

This would be a great park except the only water available contains sulfur which flavors every thing you cook and makes the entire rv smell like sulfur. Having to buy water for cooking and drinking is an expense we didn't expect and don't like. We camped at Lazy River At Granville in a Motorhome.

Lazy River At Granville, manager at Lazy River At Granville responded to this review

Hi Connie,
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We appreciate the high ratings in many areas and are sorry you had that experience with the water. We don't typically have that issue, we have a water treatment plant to insure the best drinking water possible for our guests. We have two certified water plant operators on staff who maintain the system daily and have our water tested by a 3rd party on a regular basis. The summer you've mentioned we did have a problem with iron and found that a 3rd party who had done some routine maintenance on our system turned off our iron filter. We fixed this immediately and have not had an issue since. Hopefully you'll try us again sometime and your experience with our water is much better!

Great place for a family campout. They have a zip line, playground, food window with pizza, ice cream, etc., swimming pool, shallow creek to wade in, very large laser tag area. Camp store. Very nice. Many planned weekend events. Clean laundry room.

We waded in the creek, granddaughter used the zip line, pool, play ground and climbing obstacle course. They also had minature golf but we ran out of time to use it.

We have already returned once this year and have reservations this fall for their Halloween weekend. We camped at Lazy River At Granville in a Travel Trailer.

We had a creek back-in site with friends camping next to us for a weekend. Grass sites are level, large, and flexible. Many activities available for children. Great camp store with good food and friendly service. Fire ring overlooking the creek along a mature tree line. The only concern during our stay was an abundance of barking dogs that weekend. We camped at Lazy River At Granville in a Travel Trailer.

Was a monthly camper. Campground is excellent for short stays, weekends, etc. Monthly is not a great deal. Have to maintain your own site, price listed was the monthly rate. Nothing is included except water. You have to pay for street mailbox, WiFi(which is bad), cable is only available in summer, tv antenna will only get 1 or 2 channels. Propane is twice the cost of what you can get in town. For the weekend camper great place but not long term. We camped at Lazy River At Granville in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects Good Sam Discount. Site was mainly level although there was a slight dip when entering that caused some swaying of the motor home. Electrical hookups looked worn. Had an issue with water pressure going very low as we cleaned up for leaving. Noticed others outside checking their water connections at the same time. Pool is small, but nice. Splash ground area was nice for the little ones. Other than the pool, almost all of the amenities cost extra, including Wi-Fi. Lovely location. We camped at Lazy River At Granville in a Motorhome.

The campground bathrooms were dirty. We had to ask management to refill the toilet paper. The pool was nice. They offered a zip line and challenge course that was an addition fee, not worth the money. As much as they charge for this place it's not worth it. We camped at Lazy River At Granville in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is an older destination park. Check-in was handled by friendly and efficient staff. Some interior roads are blacktop and some are gravel. Most trees are well trimmed, but there were some hanging into the roadways. Sites are grass and not totally level. Some sites are tree shaded, some are open. Sites have a wooden table and fire ring. Utilities were modern and well placed. Cable TV available at some sites, but was very limited. Wi-Fi was very good, but was an additional $5 a day. Park is doable in a big rig, but not designed for big rigs. Park has lots of activities for kids. A nice, but small pool. We camped at Lazy River At Granville in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground with a variety of sites. Some along the river, pull throughs for big RVs, and some nice back-in sites. Great Wi-Fi in park. Clean restrooms and showers. Very friendly staff. Many seasonal folks, but well-maintained. Camped through major rainstorm and noticed good drainage. Easy drive to Columbus and interesting nearby areas. Will camp here again.
