This is a great TT park. The bathrooms were a bit older but very clean and they have individual locks for each shower in the woman's room. There is also a pool which we did not get to visit during this trip. The lady at the front desk was so sweet. She let us know there were 2 different sites available since I let her know we needed a level site. We booked a premium site but ended up choosing a value site with no sewer since it was more level. This RV park does have quite a few RVers there. Not sure if they are full timers but they were all really nice. They have lots of activities and amenities for families. We have already booked another stay here and plan to return. We only did a overnight so we were not able to see any sites. We plan to come back for the Ohio renaissance fair. This RV park is only 10 minutes away. - RV Path chosen

This is a Thousand Trails park of yesteryear. Beautiful grounds, clubhouse at pool area, mini golf, pond, etc. We just stopped for quick overnight and got the last big rig site available (W/E only). Sites are very close together and only has 3 (out of 169) sites have 50 amp, so we were only able to run one A/C. We arrived just before 5:00 and it was 86 degrees so after we got settled, we headed to the pool to cool off. It was closed! I just can't imagine why a pool would be closed when it's still summer. Wifi is non existent and Verizon cell coverage was minimal. Overall, a nice park for an overnight but we wouldn't book an extended stay. - jodik
Jul 2018 - $1.00
Staff was nice enough to take us in a golf cart to check the site and also to see the best way to approach the site, since we have a very large unit and tow vehicle. Only got a 30 amp site and it was hot, so had to juggle both a/c units for best result. Grounds were very nice and staff very helpful. Still, mostly seasonal which makes getting a good site hard for us that travel. - DBLR

Beautiful area near Yellow Springs, OH. Quite a bit to see and do outside the park. The park itself doesn't have water at the sites or restrooms but many wonderful trails. Exceptionally peaceful setting. - malicoreon
Aug 2018 - $10.00
This is a very nice campground, although it is mainly set up for tent campers. There are not many RV sites with electric. The site surface is not extremely long. We were able to get our 31-ft 5th wheel in the site having it all the way back and the back end over grass. The truck fit in front at an angle. There are no shower facilities, and the toilets are pit toilets. They are clean and really do not smell, but lots of flies. Most of the RV sites with electric are in the sun. TV reception was very good. There was a camp host, but we did not see them the entire time we were there. There were RVs coming in and out all week and the sites with electric were full most of the time. The first road going to the RV site is narrow and should be made a one-way road. The park is very nice and the area is exceptional (we live in this area). - Dagma
Aug 2017 - $20.00
If you are looking for a camp ground, here is one. I still think it is a little high priced at 20$, for a dry camp with pit toilets and no showers, but the setting is great. It was well kept, but there were cans in the fire ring. It was pretty convenient to the museum at Dayton. If you are approaching with an RV, force your GPS to make the approach from SR343 at Meredith and not from Grinnell. The very limited number of electric sites are usually not available as they are the first to go by reservation. - Matt_C

Aug 2019 - $42.00
Lovely setting but the campground needs management attention and signage. (Luckily, their neighbors are used to giving RVer's directions on how to find the park and to the manager's 5th wheel to pay.) The trees inside the campground have not been trimmed for years, and have grown far enough into the narrow road inside the campground to whack air conditioners and mirrors. Rate is $42 a night, cash or check only. As other reviewers have written, the owner/manager is disorganized; sites are neither reserved nor assigned. The site we had been directed to was occupied by another rig. Our rig blocked traffic while I hiked back to the 5th wheel in site #6 and knocked on the door. The owner/manager responded with a vague hand wave and a "well, then go over there" before closing the door in my face. Water pressure was occasionally low but Verizon and electric service were fine. No cable or OTA television channels. No restrooms, showers or laundry. The campground was quiet the three nights we were there, but we left on Thursday as to avoid the weekend crowd. The long-term residents were very nice to us, their sites were tidy and cared for, and they cleaned up after their dogs. The morning we were hitching up two unleashed dogs trotted thru the campground and the biggest one took its dump near the door of the trailer across from us and trotted away. The country road leading into the campground was a little narrow but well-kept and no problem for our rig. Site #33 is level, but only if you park in part of the site in front of it. (Hubby thinks Site #33 used to be two short, back-in, sites.) The Air Force Museum is wonderful but we will try another campground if we return to the area. - Mom_of_Two
Aug 2017 - $42.00
This campground is way overpriced for what you get, but there are hardly any other choices if you want to tour the Air Force Museum. (It's about 30 minutes away.) We called ahead and asked for two sites. Our friends needed a pull-through since they are having car trouble and couldn't unhook. The campground is located down some long country roads, but they are OK. The main entrance has a narrow gate that's kind of scary for a big coach, but if you go past that entrance, there's another one without a gate. You have to go to the 5th-wheel where the owner lives, and she was pretty disorganized. She had let someone else park on the pull-through site she had planned on letting our friends use, so they had to roam around the grassy area looking for a level place. She had given us a site with a nice concrete pad, but there was no way to get level on it, so we also had to try several grassy sites before we could find a level spot. Fortunately, there were no other campers in this area, so we just kept trying different ones. The large grassy area LOOKS level, but it's not! (My husband was just about to drive away!) And, none of those sites have sewer. We asked if the price was the same without sewer and she said we still had access to it by pulling up to a site with sewer, so the price is the same! (Of course, those are all taken, so there's no place to dump!) There is NO bathroom and no WiFi. I had a good enough Verizon signal to use data. It is a pretty campground with some small lakes surrounded by grass, and the other campers (mostly permanent) were friendly. Then there was the guy who came home from work and let his two big dogs poop in the grass near us without picking it up. I guess if he lives here, he thinks he doesn't have to! - mom2wildlife
Apr 2016 - $13.00
We've stayed for both 2014 and 2015 summers as seasonal campers. It is a beautiful park. We loved the grass and the lake access for our Weims to swim. The owners, who also manage, and the help are very friendly and courteous. The problem is there's so much mismanagement and avoidance of uncomfortable situations with rowdy, drunk, weekend or holiday campers, makes this place a real problem for responsible campers.
But in 2016, they changed the deal on fishing in the stocked lakes. It used to be free fishing to all monthly/seasonal campers. No longer. $10 dollars for 12 hours. $300 for seasonal pass. In both cases, per person, not per site.
We absolutely loved this place until the changes in fishing, and the lack of authority by the owners/management. With proper management and more aggressive enforcement of rules, that is, quiet hours and rowdy, noisy, drunk parties, this place is a gold mine.
Nightly rate based on $400 monthly rate, including electricity. Price bumped up to $425 in 2016, with electricity. Very fair deal. - R_R PRanger

There are 15 new 50 amp full hookup sites that we managed to snag for 4 days. There are also 3 older 30 amp full hookup sites near the new ones. This is a very large campground that has no hookup sites, 20 amp sites, and I think some new 50 amp electric only sites. There is a sign as you go in that says they are upgrading selected sites to 50 amp and full hookup but not sure if the one we stayed in was part of the upgrade. New sites are wider and longer with concrete pad and patio. We unhooked and parked our truck crossways in front of the RV. The full hookup sites really don't have any shade. The playground in the area we stayed was very small, but there was a playground. The camp store was within walking distance from our site and was pretty decent. They have hand dipped ice cream (one scoop is very large and fills a fairly large cup for $2.50). They also have ice cream bars and other camp necessities. The lake is huge; fishing is good. Lots of trails. It's hard to get a reservation for the full hookups in the summer; you have to book very early. Late fall weekdays aren't too bad. Weekends are busy as are most state parks and they do have events on the weekend. We will definitely stay here again. - Dagma
Sep 2019 - $29.00
Stayed here many times. First time as a walk up to avoid the reservation fee. Site was fairly level and long. All the sites have a great amount of room. Overall this park is average. Basically 30a electric and a pad. Water is on a shared stake, no sewage. Dumpsters are a pretty good hike. - Bob Sims
Sep 2019 - $48.00
Beautiful, clean, and quiet park. Follow signage from the interstate, not your GPS app instructions - the campground is nowhere near the rest of the park. Only â…“ of the nearly 300 sites were in use (Tuesday after Labor Day). Sites 1-35 are walk up only and you have to go back to the (closed) office to fill out the paperwork. So I used the app and cruised the campground to find a site. Most of the electric-only sites were very narrow and many had the picnic table on the back end of the site; also some (look close at the electric post) were 20amp only. So we picked a full-hookup site which was wider (although not level). For the convenience of using the app we were charged an $8 reservation fee which is completely ridiculous. To top it off, the sewer hookup was so far to the rear of the site that it was out of reach of our hose. Small swimming beach near the boat ramp and there are (unmarked) paths from the campsites but you wouldn't know it was there if you didn't walk down there. - MBAustin

Well maintained older park. Owner was very helpful. Older park with hook ups all over the place and every site was different. Lots of long term workers here. Pretty quite overall with lots of shade. Verizon and AT&T pretty weak. 15 min drive to closest supplies. Pool was not in service at time of stay. - On the way
May 2017 - $40.00
This park has the opportunity to be a great park. Sadly the owner is rude and talks down to women. The bathrooms were nasty. Looked like they had not been cleaned in months. Large shower house but was told it was not open for the season yet. Women's shower was one small stall with no changing area. Curtain moved when anyone opened door. Any one walking by could see into the shower. Had to ask for toilet paper (was told look in other stalls). Some sites were so small that if extending your awning it will almost touched the next camper. Electrical was sketchy. Our TT plug had damage to plug from electrical provided. Some sites have above ground sewer pipes. The PVC piping sits anywhere from 1 ft to 2 ft above the ground and then the pipe is placed on blocks for 10 to 20 feet where it then connects with other sewer lines. Play ground is a joke. Broken and needing major repairs. Lodge? This was the game room? Was only opened for one day out of our week stay. The pool table and air hockey were the only ones that were usable. Ping pong had no balls, foosball had no balls, skeetball had no balls. Overall the lodge/game room was a joke. Would not recommend this CG . - rijjmom
Mar 2017 - $41.00
Frontier Campground has a lot of potential and the owner is working toward making improvements. This park is tucked away in the quiet of the country and while there are no actual hiking trails within the park, it bumps up against a large wildlife area that has a public lake for fishing and trails for hiking and biking. The sites and interior roads are gravel, trees are trimmed and make for easy movement. All sites, both back-in and pull through, were naturally shaded with mature trees, but we were still able to get satellite coverage. Most sites had a picnic table, fire ring, and either a gravel or concrete patio. All sites are full hook-ups ( offers both 30 & 50 amp) and utilities were in good working order. I used the laundry room and while small (2 washers/2 dryers), it was in good working order. An added convenience is the onsite propane station. Now the "potential" part. In addition to RV sites, the park offers log cabins, a swimming pool, Clubhouse, basketball court, and a cute little playground - all of which could use some tender loving care to bring them back up to what I am sure once were great little attractions. - the Fishers

We had troubling leveling our motorhome. The site was very uneven. Sites are close together. Our site was in full-sun so we ran the AC all the time. Otherwise, the campground was fine. A lot of activities for children, including the pool. There seem to be a lot of sites that are used every summer by the same people. People had put out personal items and looked "moved-in" for the summer. It was a fine campground, especially for families. - RV Sailor

This is a nice park. But - their rules are ridiculously rigid! We have a truck camper. We arrived - checked in - got to our site - unloaded our camper because we use our truck for touring and personal business and then found out that we were NOT ALLOWED to unload our camper! Rules say, "any cab-over camper cannot be removed from your truck." Imagine our angst! Nobody told us of this rule. So here we are with our truck and camper detached and hoping that none of the many staffers on their little golf carts report us back to the owners. Thankfully no one reported us and went on our way after a 3 night stay. And 5 mph on their roadways is just plain stupid. I can walk faster than 5 mph! Anyways, this RV Part is good for an overnight stay but that's about it. - Sheridan28
Jun 2019 - $13.00
Great for big rigs. Sites are wide and long. Easy pull in from office. Ground was level. Sites are adequate. Grass and trees were great. Trees didn't interfer with satellite. Park has lots of annual residents but areas are kept neat and clean. Surprised at overall low rating which doesn't seem adequate to our experience. Parked in 42' foot Class A. - CiminoAdv

Can an RV park get TOO BIG. I'm afraid this one might have. Then again this was a Saturday night in mid summer. Perhaps the week days or off season might make this a bit more accommodating. There is something for everyone here though considering the size of the place they ought to consider putting some additional shower/rest rooms in. And the one morning I was heading for a shower the combination lock on the men's facility was not working. I'm not sure what the tent campers were going to have to do that morning. Overall the campground does have a great deal of buzz and the people and staff are friendly. I can recall talking to one park host who had the job of giving out all the assorted sports equipment. That night there was an Ice Cream Social, an outdoor movie and even free popcorn. Even though it is possible to get lost in this massive park overall I would give this place a thumbs up. - McBlaze911
Jun 2019 - $39.00
This is a very nice resort. There are tons of activities for campers to enjoy. The pool looked very inviting. Out hookups worked fine. Our site was grass and even though it rained heavily, our site did not turn into a muddy mess. Drainage is good. There is no WiFi at the campsites. I-70 is next to the campground and can be disturbing to sensitive folks. OTA TV gave many channels. - Melodycthomas
Mar 2019 - $43.00
Traveling across the country you have a lot of experiences. This campground will always win as the the WORST! I know it's a long review, but heed the warning. I first called to confirm they had spots available, full hook ups/30 amp and they did. When we arrived nobody was in the office so I called the number on the door and was told where to park, but it had no water. Confused as to why that was not mentioned on the phone, I asked where we could get water since we thought we would have hook-ups. The woman said we could wait for them to return or take water from the laundry room, it was cleaner. Cleaner!? I wish that we would've taken that as a sign to keep driving! Warning #2 After the hassle of getting water from the laundry room faucet, we found our spot. The electrical box tower had reversed polarity, per our surge protector. So we moved over a spot. Once the manager was in, I went to check in and explained the electrical issue but they didn't seem too concerned about it. Warning #3 We woke up to the sound of men talking and a tree branch falling right outside our bedroom window. I called the manager about the fact that these men were cutting down an entire tree and pulling towards our RV! The, arrogant, manager came over to tell them not to cut the tree towards any RVs or electrical boxes. After a few laughs with the tree trimming owner, the manger said, "I'm the boss, cut it however you want." So, yes, they continued and the tree fell inches away from us! Complete disregard for property and lacked any sensitivity to our serious concern that this tree would land on us. Warning #4 After looking over our bill, we were charged summer rates, that start in April, full hook-ups, we were partial and for 50 amp, which we were 30. Overcharged - MRue

This is our second time at this Ohio state park. Beautiful park wrapped around a reservoir. Made a reservation through Reserve America the day before we arrived and got the last electric site for the night, not surprising since it is a Friday night. Easy quick check in, friendly staff. Long drive to campground but roads are paved and well marked. Our site was large enough to just back in and not unhook. Pad is black top and level. Sites seem to vary in length. Back end our trailer had a great view of the boats in the reservoir. One nice size tree shaded our picnic table. Staff came by and cleaned up our fire pit which had greasy aluminum foil left over it. Bathrooms are cinder block style, concrete floor. Reasonably clean as nearly 70 campsites have to share this facility. I had good Verizon service and we got several ota channels. Campground was fully booked but by 9:00 it was quiet. I would say this is well run for a state campground. - Trainspotter
Dec 2018 - $25.00
This is a nice older state park - perhaps designed for a simpler time and smaller rigs. Our site was a short back in - one of the few that had a driver side back in (as opposed to a blind-side) and we had to park on the grass beside the camper. Campers must fill their tanks before parking. We did have electric on site. We were visiting friends nearby so did not take advantage of the recreational facilities, but the park does have a nice lake and marina and public beaches. There were some nice short trails where we walked the dog. Upon leaving, the dump station was convenient. - Dahna
