Jun 2018 - $58.00
Have stayed at this campground since it was called Cedarbrook in the 90's. Always enjoyed it. Since the conversion to KOA they have improved the facility quite a bit. There's quite a bit to do for the kids but if you have no kids, then you might want to request a site away from the playground. There are lots of trees so satellite reception is probably not the best but they have excellent digital cable and OTA broadcasts. Sites are gravel and some are not too level but we've always been able to level our 37' MH and we've stayed there many times. - JimW_AZ
Jun 2018 - $47.00
This was our 4th stay at this campground, our 2nd since it became a KOA. Progress has been slow but steady under KOA ownership, much improved, a few old issues. The new, larger KOA sign marking the entrance is better, but still partially obscured by a tree on neighboring land. Entry is still narrow if you meet a departing RV. Old, shabby RV's that used to line entry are mostly gone. Check-in loop has been improved, easier for big rig access. Staff remains friendly & helpful. Park is clean and wooded with mature trees in most areas. WiFi is free and works "ok" to check e-mail. Cable TV service has been upgraded and is excellent. Power and water hookup fine; sewer connection at our site was a little funky but we worked it out. Staff was working while we were there with grader and gravel to improve roads & sites. Pool area is small but VERY clean. Playground was enjoyed by our "grands". Sites are a little close together, IMO. This park continues to improve, and remains the best choice in the area as a family park for stays of a few days to a couple weeks. We will return, but they won't take 2019 reservations until October 2018. And this place is busy on weekends. - Rick2804
Jun 2018 - $60.00
It's a KOA, so expect high rates and extra charges. Showers clean but dated. Speed limit not enforced. Not many options near Dayton. - sjwake

Sep 2018 - $45.00
Free wifi was pretty good, lots of OTA TV channels, easy to get around in the park. We needed to buy propane, but for a 30# tank it was nearly $40...very high so we didn't get it. Our pullthrough site was quite low in front, but we put boards under our truck tires and the front jacks. Sided to side was level. There are a lot of trees, but trimmed well. There is construction coming into the park. Park is close to the interstate but pretty quiet. Most of them back-in sites look to be very angled downhill. We paid extra for the pullthrough site. There are NO discounts at this park, but it is still nice enough. At site 48 the sewer is way towards the front, so we did not connect to the sewer until we left. Power and water was okay. Good water pressure and good tasting water. - Ginny H
Aug 2018 - $36.00
Beautiful park. Very friendly staff. Nice pond for fishing. There is a nature trail but we didn't have time to explore. Very close to Kings Island and the zoo is 30 minutes away. - Likeorlove
Jul 2018 - $39.00
We have stayed at Olive Branch many time over the past few years when in the area visiting relatives. The park is well maintained, good utilities and convenient to I-71 and the owners are very friendly. Since our stays have usually been for a week or more we have always used back in sites, but their are a number of pull-thru sites. Power in the back in sites we have used were usually way in the back of the site, but our primary 50 amp cord has always reached. Inner roads are stone, but not dusty. We will stay here again when visiting the area. - Russ G

Well maintained older park. Owner was very helpful. Older park with hook ups all over the place and every site was different. Lots of long term workers here. Pretty quite overall with lots of shade. Verizon and AT&T pretty weak. 15 min drive to closest supplies. Pool was not in service at time of stay. - On the way
May 2017 - $40.00
This park has the opportunity to be a great park. Sadly the owner is rude and talks down to women. The bathrooms were nasty. Looked like they had not been cleaned in months. Large shower house but was told it was not open for the season yet. Women's shower was one small stall with no changing area. Curtain moved when anyone opened door. Any one walking by could see into the shower. Had to ask for toilet paper (was told look in other stalls). Some sites were so small that if extending your awning it will almost touched the next camper. Electrical was sketchy. Our TT plug had damage to plug from electrical provided. Some sites have above ground sewer pipes. The PVC piping sits anywhere from 1 ft to 2 ft above the ground and then the pipe is placed on blocks for 10 to 20 feet where it then connects with other sewer lines. Play ground is a joke. Broken and needing major repairs. Lodge? This was the game room? Was only opened for one day out of our week stay. The pool table and air hockey were the only ones that were usable. Ping pong had no balls, foosball had no balls, skeetball had no balls. Overall the lodge/game room was a joke. Would not recommend this CG . - rijjmom
Mar 2017 - $41.00
Frontier Campground has a lot of potential and the owner is working toward making improvements. This park is tucked away in the quiet of the country and while there are no actual hiking trails within the park, it bumps up against a large wildlife area that has a public lake for fishing and trails for hiking and biking. The sites and interior roads are gravel, trees are trimmed and make for easy movement. All sites, both back-in and pull through, were naturally shaded with mature trees, but we were still able to get satellite coverage. Most sites had a picnic table, fire ring, and either a gravel or concrete patio. All sites are full hook-ups ( offers both 30 & 50 amp) and utilities were in good working order. I used the laundry room and while small (2 washers/2 dryers), it was in good working order. An added convenience is the onsite propane station. Now the "potential" part. In addition to RV sites, the park offers log cabins, a swimming pool, Clubhouse, basketball court, and a cute little playground - all of which could use some tender loving care to bring them back up to what I am sure once were great little attractions. - the Fishers

Paved roads. Very large sites. Multiple loops, some with lots of trees and some with very few trees/shade. Lots of water spigots so even though water hookup not provided at each spot, you're generally within 100ft so you can run a hose and refill your fresh water tank. Quiet at night. Lots of good hiking nearby (you'll have to drive to the other side of the lake...or the other end of the park which is about 8 miles away). Some of the best shades sites are walkup only so those can't be reserved. Got prolly 2 inches of rain in the afternoon and the site drained well...no standing water. Several dump stations throughout the park too so the lines don't get to long on Sunday morning. - zenasboy
May 2018 - $29.00
Beautiful park, nice paved entry roads, green grass and nice trees. The only problem I had was that I was told my site had water at it but they failed to tell me it was a community spigot with kids playing in the water and everyone washing dishes there and not carrying water back to their site. Muddy mess near my site. Also the bath house had chronic leaked with water running under door. Would have thought for the price I would have my own water at my site. Mud was covering part of my paved pad. Picnic table was a little beat up. - RFarley73
Aug 2017 - $25.00
Several sections of this state park are reserved, we came in without and were told to find a suitable site in the 1st come 1st serve area and then return to register. We arrived mid-week and many sites were available but it looks like this might be a popular place on weekends. All sites in this section were W/E back-in sites. Ours was shady but most were in mid-day sun. The sites are well spaced and the grassy areas are well maintained. The paved parking surface was wide enough for the RV, but in rainy weather, you have to walk on the grass/dirt (mud). - Trailbuddy

This is a Thousand Trails park of yesteryear. Beautiful grounds, clubhouse at pool area, mini golf, pond, etc. We just stopped for quick overnight and got the last big rig site available (W/E only). Sites are very close together and only has 3 (out of 169) sites have 50 amp, so we were only able to run one A/C. We arrived just before 5:00 and it was 86 degrees so after we got settled, we headed to the pool to cool off. It was closed! I just can't imagine why a pool would be closed when it's still summer. Wifi is non existent and Verizon cell coverage was minimal. Overall, a nice park for an overnight but we wouldn't book an extended stay. - jodik
Jul 2018 - $1.00
Staff was nice enough to take us in a golf cart to check the site and also to see the best way to approach the site, since we have a very large unit and tow vehicle. Only got a 30 amp site and it was hot, so had to juggle both a/c units for best result. Grounds were very nice and staff very helpful. Still, mostly seasonal which makes getting a good site hard for us that travel. - DBLR
Jul 2018 - $54.00
We reserved a week in advance through their national call center. The website stated to call ahead to make arrangements for late arrival. We called several times in the afternoon when we knew we would be running an hour late and left a message and they did not return our call. We showed up and it was closed. Another RV showed up too with same story. Phone number on door was disconnected. We were all very frustrated. Then out of the blue a golf cart comes out of the camping area gate and we finally get checked in. She was slurring her words and complaining about the air conditioning and ignored a phone call while checking me in. So she doesn't answer calls or return phone calls. The campsite and grounds were just fine. Our site wasn't level and chocking was necessary and the electrical box cover fell off when we opened it to plug in and weren't sure how to fix it. Also didn't have full hookups like we hadn't requested and paid for. But they had a dump station so it was fine for a short stay. - Missyinanairsteam

Sep 2017 - $45.00
We stayed in a pull through site. The employees/owner were very nice. The park itself was nice. As has been noted, it is tight. We tow a Jayco A-Frame type fold down with an extension on the front to carry things, so it is 22 feet long. There are some spots given my skill level at towing, I would not have wanted to try. The sites are small. Having done a lot of camping at state parks this year we got kind of spoiled with larger sites. The pool was very nice and still open past labor day. What surprised me most was the showers were pay showers. .25 cents for 2.5 minutes. I have never seen that before. While clean both the bathrooms and showers were in need of updating. Very old. Overall a nice place. We would return. - npdchief7
Jun 2017 - $47.00
The park was clean and the service was friendly. The office was closed when we showed up on Sunday afternoon but one of owners opened up the store so we could check in and buy firewood. Then pointed out our spot. - Bull205
Jul 2016 - $60.00
We stayed on their premium site which is site 80. It has a poured patio, which is nice, a charcoal grill, patio furniture, and fire pit.
This is not a full hook up campground. They have a gray water drain which is only a 1 1/2 inch drain pipe, so you can't use your regular sewer hose to dump your gray water. Owners/operators were friendly, pool was nice, and most of the folks we met around the campground were friendly as well. Smaller campground, so I believe they can only accommodated a few big rigs. Most interior roads are gravel, but in good shape. - jmcmanama

We stayed at this park before, but wanted to update the review since our recent stay. The shower house and restrooms have been updated. New tile and all new fixtures at the central shower house. Well kept and clean with hot water. There aren't full hook-up sites and the dump station was partially closed. The park staff said the dump station was on its last leg and was going to be updated (hope so). Otherwise, this is a very nice state park. Since it is in our home state, we will definitely return. Sites are spacious and level. - IBpraisingGod
Aug 2017 - $24.00
We camped here for a long weekend and loved it. Driving to the actual park is a bit nerve wracking, as we have a 38ft camper and the park is accessed through narrow back roads. When you arrive at the park, follow signs for camping. Stay to the right, and when you think you have missed it, keep driving and you will dead end at the campground. The campground is deep in the park.
This campground is tucked back into the park a few miles along the lake. Sites are well spaced apart, and all sites a paved and easy to navigate to once inside the park. The attendant student at both the check in desk and the convenience store were very friendly and knowledgeable.
No water hookups at the sites, but various potable water sources throughout the campground. The park is very family friendly and offers a playground that was in decent shape, but could use a little TLC.
We had excellent cell, Verizon, and 4G service. Bath houses were very dated, but clean and stocked. All electric hookups appear to be very close to parking pads; outs was less than 6ft away. We enjoy hiking and this park has one 2 mile trail that needs some maintenance and not much else. Overall we were very pleased and will be back in the same site next time- site 68. - WeisnerFamily4
Aug 2016 - $30.00
A nice state park. It is a small state park, but with mainly spacious and level sites (except ones on hill which are numbers 32-41). Showers could use updating, but we're hot and clean. Trails could also use some pruning back, but the sites were well mowed and clean. Overall, a very nice place to stay. There were some seasonal sites, but things were kept fairly clean and picked up on these sites as well. - IBpraisingGod

Electric good, well keep grounds, campground nearly empty, lots of lakefront though sites are not near water. Small beach but pleasant stay. Road to state park is quite twisty and not much to do nearby unless you are a boater or first-person at the lake. - Jitime40

Nov 2018 - $18.00
The rate quoted above is the monthly rate of $550 divided by the 30 days we stayed. We made reservations here to spend time in the area with family. The managers are very nice and accommodating and we communicated with them several times before arrival. The park itself is not very nice at all. It's mostly old mobile homes and some semi-permanent RVs (ranging from 25-year-old trailers with junk around to a half-million dollar tag axle diesel pusher). We were originally assigned to one site, but "... someone moved in to that site" before we arrived. I can only assume that it was preferable to the site where we ended up (anything would be, though). We are full-timers and I'm pretty good at backing our 36' fifth wheel with a crew cab, long bed, dual rear wheel truck into tight spaces - but this is the tightest space I've ever had to deal with. With the trailer on one side of us having a slide extended a two feet over our pad to a work van parked at the very edge of our extremely narrow space on the other, I had to rock back and forth in the narrow roadway and put the truck and trailer at almost a 90 degree able to get in... but we got it done. The tiny spaces and dumpy environment aren't the things we dislike the most, though. Directly across the fence behind us (the back of the rig is 4 - 5 feet from the fence - not counting the bike rack) is a furniture factory. The noise pollution is TERRIBLE! The low frequency droning noises I can handle, but the high frequency constant squeal and a very noisy compressor that cycles about every minute has caused me to get out my earplugs to sleep at night. We didn't see much of the other park residents, but those we did see were very nice. There aren't many RVing options in the Cincinnati area. The county parks are seasonal, have stay limitations and and have poor availability. To get something else, one has to go 45 minutes out of town and pay $40/night. - Second Chance
