Friendly check in. Huge sites, long and wide. Away from the road noise. Just a great place. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

It is also a shooting center. The ranges a far enough away that they couldn't bother anyone.

It was a little strange getting into the park. Our GPS took us to the restaurant, where you will see signs on how to get to the campground. Checking in was easy, since we had already paid, and we got directions to our site. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the site. You could almost put 2 of our coaches, with tow, on the site. Our site didn't have a picnic table, but it probably wasn't needed, as we were right next to a shelter, which had several tables. We only stayed one night, but this was our second time here, and we would recommend it for an extended stay. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

We were on site 621, which is on the periphery of the camp ground, adjacent to the shooting range. Basically a big gravel parking lot with amenities. That being said, our site was huge with ample space for our 40' motor home, pick-up truck & motorcycle. All services worked well. The main portion of the campground is lovely, with trees & grass. Location is very convenient to the interstate & to the greater Columbus area. Sunbury is 8 miles away & has all the shopping you could possibly need. We would definitely return here. Very noisy with I-71 traffic. Not all sites have grass. Some are gravel which are small enough to bring into your camper/tent. Busy place. Not a fan because of the traffic from I-71. Sometimes they are so busy you camp in the parking lot by the skeet range and make a fire on the asphalt. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Huge pull throughs, wide grassy areas in between sites, park-like setting. Massive amounts of room for this big rig. One of the nicest places we have stayed. 50A , FHU. Will certainly stop here again. Easy access from I71. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a bizarre RV park. It is operated by a skeet shooting organization and I guess it is set up for big shooting events. They don't seem particularly interested in having RV guests. The office closes at 4 and there is no after hours number. We were told there would be a receipt and map left at the office door--there wasn't. Fortunately, the previous review had suggested pulling up a map from the internet, so we knew where our site was. The woman I talked to on the phone knew nothing about the park, wifi, cable, etc--probably never spent a night in an RV. Our site was level, but the hookups [we didn't have sewer] were at the front of the back-in. Fortunately, we had extensions and garden hoses to reach. Without them, we would have had a problem. Wifi was great. This place is huge!! There are hundreds of camp sites and cabins. When we were there, we saw only two people. The place was deserted. That was a plus for us. We backed up to a stocked lake and enjoyed our stay. We were there on a Monday. I understand the skeet range opens on Tuesday. So, all in all, it was great for us. Just be aware of its eccentricities. I have no idea why they don't try to develop it. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a campground and a large skeet shooting range. Sound of the skeet guns not bothersome. Interior roads gravel, easy to navigate. We have stayed here before and the premium (blue) sites are very long. There are many types and sizes of sites so pull up a map of this campground before booking since some of the other types of sites are very small. The office closes early so call in the morning or early afternoon. Back-ins are easy though all areas of the park. Our site 404 was not level, but was satellite friendly. However, most sites seem level. Some of the utility runs can be on the long side, so extra hose/extensions may be needed. Sites that face the skeet range, would not book them. There are large grass areas to run rover. Wifi was not usable with park full on holiday weekend. Good Verizon and T-Mobile signals. Many sites sat. friendly but office staff does not seem to know which ones. Look at the park on google earth, then check it against campground map. Call ahead since they host events at the skeet range and the park can fill. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Restaurant near the campground very good. Laundry next to the restaurant very nice, but expensive. Only other food options in area are Taco Bell and Subway. Nearest Wall Mart is about 20 miles away. Nearest food store about 12 miles.

The first back in we were assigned was off level and no sat service so they moved us to a level and very good sat location. The back ins against the back wall of trees can be great or off level and very un sat friendly. Having said that this is a pretty interesting park. It does have section of pull thrus that looked very nice but they were full. If you have pets be aware this is a shooting sports center and that could be a problem if the noise bothers them. Would definitely come back again. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

Only negative comments are road noise, can't do anything about this, and they need better signage. I have stayed several times as I travel through and I still turn through a restaurant parking lot. The lots are huge and are all paved and very level. This is an outstanding travel campground. I will stay everytime I'm through the area. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I called the day before and asked for a full hookup pull through . Lady said no pull through available. She said all they had left was back in . That was OK as hubby is good at that. When we went to our site we found it was water and electricity only. It was on the gravel lot along the back where the shooting range is. There was a full hookup site right behind us in the regular park in the deluxe site area. We got there at a few minutes till 5 even though the clerk told me on the phone the office was open till 6, they closed as soon as we checked in . We were only there for one nite so just made the best of it. Ur Satellite , nor the antenna got any reception at our location . Evidently they have 3 categories of sites, basic (water and electricity only) Standard, and deluxe. This was not evident on their web site. The other areas of the campground especially the deluxe sites are huge , shaded, and very nice. We saw several vacant sites here but we're not offered one. We would have paid more had we known. Don't know about the restrooms as we did not see any. This is a huge park that has a trap shooting range. Be sure you ask before reserving what your site will be. I did ask for full hookup. Oh well. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Not a bad campground. Just off I-71 north of Columbus. Site 421 good sat. reception. Good Verizon service. Good campground wifi. Electric and water good. In looking at other sites in this area, not all the FHU's were in a good position for RV's some had long runs for elect. and water ask when calling about position of hookups. Sites level, gravel and enough grass for rover. Before coming to this campground call ahead. It is a place for skeet shooting (very large facility) and they host events, calling ahead to make sure they are not booked. Check in open just til 4 pm. most days. There was a sign that there were not check in's after 11:00 pm. There are a few different areas and types of campsites in this campground. It would be wise to pull up a map of the campground before showing up. Sounds of people shooting skeet were no problem. Some sound from I-71. They have made berms and planted trees to cut the noise. Noise may be a problem only in a few sites near the freeway. And as an odd note: we were here in Oct. and our site had a walnut tree that was dropping large nuts onto our RV and car. Was able to move to the rear of the site, but if you come here the second week of Oct. or so ask about the walnut trees. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

Excellent campground. Reason for 9 instead of 10, closeness to Interstate. They have tried to reduce the noise by building berms and it does help. This is a park trying to take care of its patrons. I will stay here again. The space between sites is the largest I have ever seen outside a State park. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Home and field and there's a restaurant right in front of the campground if you want to go over to have a little breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also have a shooting range that is a small walking distance but it is nice to go see people shoot clay pigeons. It's so relaxing.
