Dirty showers and restrooms that don't get cleaned but twice a year it seemed. They stink and are nasty. Owners do nothing to park. Weekends are loud and no one respects quiet hours. They drive around in their golf carts all hours and drink all night where ever the action is. This place should get patrolled by security and do something about the cleanliness. Swimming area is dirty and you ever know when or how long it will open. - NE Ohio Camper
May 2009 - $26.00
New owners May 1, 2009. The over all camp needs a lot of work. I am sure that given a year or two the owners will make it much nicer. The low rating is because there is a high percentage of year round campers. A 9 for the new owners enthusiasm. - stetwood
Oct 2018 - $45.00
We stayed in cabin 3 for a weekend. We arrived late in the evening due to work. I knew when I reserved the place that it was probably going to be bare bones since it was so cheap but I never expected it to be disgusting. The ceiling was blue styrofoam board with clear duct tape! The walls were pieces together with really thin brown board. The window was covered with foil. We tried to turn on ac and it put out horrible odors. We went to take showers and they are the kind that you have to pull on and it lasts for a few seconds then you have to do it again. There was no way to adjust the water temperature so after pulling on the cord numerous times to finish our showers the water was scalding hot. I spoke with the owner on Monday because their office was closed during the hours we were there due to having to leave for work at 6 am and not getting back until around 11 pm. She said I should have said something sooner and I told her I couldn't because they were closed and I called their number but they never answered. She said then that I should have went and told her although I had no clue where they live! Our clothes all smell horrible because of the cabin odor. We would have stayed elsewhere but everything was booked due to the fall festival that we were working at. - Carrieanne
Sep 2016 - $29.00
This RV park is a bit hard to find for someone not from the area. It is remote and very quiet. Has a large pool. Has a number of permanents who use their spot for weekend get-aways. It is a pretty park and quiet while we were there. Level sites. Helpful and friendly staff. - W Davidson
Jun 2011 - $21.00
This Campground was formerly known as Campers Paradise which is when I stayed here. New owners have made improvements which include adding a pool. Very friendly seasonals. - Lakewood Camper
Aug 2016 - $24.00
The park is small but several sites are on the water's edge. It's an older park so the layout isn't the best for large RVs. However, we loved our visit. You can rent peddle boats and kayaks for $10/hr. There is a swimming beach, playground, and lots of docks to fish from. The staff is friendly. The view is beautiful. We didn't use the bathrooms but were told that they were very dirty. Hopefully this was just the result of a weekend that had visitors with no manners and isn't typical of the park. Our site was roomy. - Tammy7
Jun 2014 - $25.00
Campsites are a little close together but there is plenty of length for RV. Many spaces for both pull-thru and back-in. Park is very clean as were the restrooms - just old fixtures. The lake is somewhat "murky" but overall a great family place to recreate. - rnuke77
Oct 2010 - $12.00
Very nice park along a nice lake, we got one of several sites are right on the lake. There are 4 or 5 walk-in sites on the water. There are NO real trails to walk, but the park owns a 10 to 15 foot strip of land along the water and walking between the lake and private cottages is permitted. We walked about a mile and a half to the left toward the dam and saw some beautiful views. - buzzards27
Aug 2019 - $63.00
This park is about 75% seasonals and the overnight sites are squeezed together. There is constant golf cart traffic and the park was busy and loud. The staff was very friendly and the the facilities were acceptable and well cared for. Big rigs would not have any trouble getting around and satellite service would be good. We won't camp here again because its not what we like, but a family could have fun with the pool, fishing pond and activities. If you want quiet and peaceful, go somewhere else. - Phil from Akron
Jul 2019 - $52.00
Thought I would update the reviews of this park. The buildings all look new. The restrooms, showers and laundry were very up to date and very clean. The pool is big and and well maintained. Plenty of activities for the kids. The sites were well spaced and the water, electric, sewer and cable tv all worked as intended. The WiFi was very slow. The staff is friendly and lead us to, and assisted us into our back level in site. Only stayed one night, but would have enjoyed a longer stay. - docsouce
Sep 2017 - $39.00
Well maintained park with clean sites and grounds. Friendly staff escort to site and offered help if needed. This is among the best campgrounds we have ever stayed in. Everyone around us was friendly and having a good time. - Todd Fogelberg
Aug 2010 - $14.00
A nice, friendly, low key campground (the "Office" is in the managers golf cart). Back-in full hook-up sites around lake, but several wide open pull-thru sites with water and electric only, basically in an open field so plenty of room. Fair number of seasonal campers, mostly seniors. We arrived on Friday when they have a fish fry - delicious, large serving of fried whitefish and sides for $7.50 each! A bit off the interstate for an overnight, but not far from US 30. Passport America rate. No Wi-Fi, but Mi-Fi available in clubhouse, did not use it. - Dennis M
Aug 2019 - $34.00
Disgusting Place, there were more cats than campers, cats running around the grounds. Good place if you are an alcoholic seeking to reform. As soon as you drive in, you see junk all over the place. The original office is closed, due to cat infestation and smells. You will pass junnk on the way to the office located in the kitchen of the rec hall, now used for storage. The folks seem nice but then again, they want your money, cash is preferred. Stay here if you want to see what a campground should not be. - CatHouse
Jun 2018 - $28.00
My family has been coming here just about every summer for the past 10 years. When we first started coming it was a really nice place to camp. It's quiet and never over crowded. There is a swimming pool and there used to be a game room for kids and they had an auditorium with a projector screen to have movie nights. Now all the rooms are used for storage. There is no more game room or auditorium. The swimming pool was opened and cleaned. There is an extreme over population of cats. It is very difficult to walk around the premises without stepping in cat feces. The grass was also very high on the lots. The owners really stopped taking pride and care of the property. It's unfortunate because it's in a great location and it used to be a beautiful and quiet campground. - SKKAFam
May 2011 - $28.00
Nice park, quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed to back to basics of camping. Pool was not open for the season, but looked like it would be fun. Many things to do in the surrounding area. Sites were easy to get into. Would recommend park to other campers. - cinnamon
Sep 2018 - $40.00
While the older sections of this park appear to be populated by very long-term permanent residents, ancient rigs and the usual accumulation of junk, the new section is pristine. Yes, there are already some permanent campers there, but they are neat and clean. Asphalt roads throughout, concrete pads and patios, beautiful new landscaping and spotless restrooms. It was amazingly quiet and peaceful, with great views of the lake. - rfmscat
Jun 2018 - $44.00
Nice size lots. Was in the new area H. Full hookup! Staff friendly and helpful! Camped at Atwood on Memorial Day as well as two days in the middle of June and this last weekend at a rally. All good times. Last time it rained all weekend off and on but still had fun. - Jane Michel
Aug 2016 - $32.00
Atwood is an older park and the sites were perpendicular to the road. This makes it hard to maneuver with a 35'. Our group was in section B on sites 308-311. All sites were shady. Water is available on site 310. The roads are very narrow. We saw the Rangers frequently during the day.
The sites across from us had more than 10 cars on six sites. This made for a roudy group and there were no rangers in site at night. The noise went on until 1:30 am. Very discouraging! Hopefully this was a fluke and not the norm. - Tammy7
Sep 2019 - $48.00
Lovely park and very nice place to overnight! We stayed an extra day to relax. Lots of amenities and very nice staff. - DeanaB
Jul 2017 - $48.00
Older park, mostly uphill, not easy to park, problematic during rains. Deluxe patio site next to sewer field!! Pool not close to campground but clean. Restrooms next to pool terrible. Restrooms and washer/dryer next to office dated. - Roadkraut
Jul 2016 - $83.00
I guess when you are the only game in town, you can soak folks. On top of the pricey rate they charge extra for kids. $93.00 a night in the sticks is criminal. And for that you can tote your own rubbish, as they don't pick it up. They don't escort you to your site and the "store" is the most dismal excuse for a camp store. It's even dusty.
On the plus side they have good directional signage off I-77.
We had a lovely site. But as the case, a little too close. These patio sites are nice, but have a grand view of A HUGE regional landfill. The buzzards circled several times. There had to be 50 to 100 buzzards in the air.
Then there is the air. Don't know if it's there septic system or the landfill. It stunk so bad we could not enjoy the outside facilities.
The design separates seasonal and over night guest. It a pretty good design. The mini golf looks (we did not play) among the best.
A nice KOA. But the Keep on Adding on, kills the deal. - wdw
Aug 2018 - $48.00
They charge extra for more than 2 people. We had to pay $4 for each kid per night even though they say they are a family park. They have a restaurant, library, pool (unheated), kids place to play inside, air conditioned/heated recreation hall, tennis courts, fishing lake, many restrooms, camping story, grocery store, and many other things. The park was great with paved roads. Our site flooded when it rained, about 1/4 of the site had deep. - Stacie C
Jul 2018 - $40.00
Large RV park but mostly permanent and long-term residents. Nightly rate is based on weekly rate of $283. The park is gated with a key-card access gate. Section K were all back-in sites. Sites were close to each other and not long enough for both trailer and truck. Parking was parallel to road in front of rig, which made for very crowded conditions when backing in the 5th wheel. Wi-fi was available for a fee. Verizon reception was good. The laundry room was clean and reasonably priced, but very busy at the time I used it. The park filled up on the weekend with family campers. The park has a nice looking pool (did not use) and planned activities. Convenient restaurant accessed from the park. - AZ-Rick
Aug 2017 - $40.00
Rural campground near Canton with mostly seasonal sites. Lots of family activities with large 3' deep swimming pool and adjacent spray park. Sites are grassy and close together. The back-in sites we were offered were not level, so we chose the best of the lot and managed OK. The many pull-thru sites looked fairly level and we would choose one of those if we pass this way again. The on-site laundry and restaurant were excellent and reasonably priced. Nearby Alliance had most national chain stores and restaurants. - Appleknocker
Jun 2016 - $40.00
They have a boat launch, clubhouse with pool table, foose ball, piano, DJ's and band on the weekends, crafts on Saturday mornings. There is always something to do, or just hang out at your campsite for peace and quiet! We enjoyed so much, that we've become seasonal campers. - Kitchen73-J
Jul 2014 - $40.00
Overall good time! We like to have fun and play music late at night and it never seems to be an issue. The restrooms are pretty bad but we have a camper so we don't use them anyways. The lady that runs the place is pretty nice but she will make sure she gets her money from everyone that comes there, even if you just come to visit for an hour or so you have to pay about $5 per person. There is a nice little trail to the lake where you can swim, and do some fishing too. I will go back there for sure! - Bigarbslovers
