I am a seasonal Camper (my first year) and it has been a wonderful experience in 2017 at the Sunset Springs Resort. The owners are fine Christian people who are trying very hard to create a family experience at the Campground. Restrooms were updated this year and are very clean which also includes some nice clean showers. They have also added a Laundry room in July. Great fishing at the big Pond that my Camper is parked by. They also have a nice lake for fishing and which has a beach for swimming. I have already renewed for a 2nd year. - John Mergel
Aug 2014 - $30.00
88% seasonal, only a handful of sites for transients. We were only shown 2 that were accessable. Bathrooms are in bad need of replacement, no HW, rusty water, very old without maintenance. New owners have much work to do. Friendly folks, short distance from the highway. Swimming at the pond. - padlin00
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Park was mainly seasonal sites. Only 4 pull-through sites. Site was very unlevel, dipped in the middle. - Chiefmorgan
Jul 2016 - $27.00
Our stay, in a PopUp A-Frame, was pleasant and for the most part quiet. There was a brief interruption in my sleep when our neighbor came home. I am a light sleeper. One downside was the play ground in our area was in unsafe condition. I will likely return to this CG and I do recommend it to anyone who is a non weekend camper at least. Can't speak for what happens on the weekend though. It is a well maintained CG. - NanCas
May 2011 - $29.00
Our site, 48, was grassy and level. Very friendly staff. Clean restrooms. Rate was with discount. A lot of clean seasonal campers. Would definitely stay here again. - PinkPanther
Oct 2016 - $34.00
Hooked up the water and turned on my bathroom sink and almost got sick from the smell of the water. Tried the kitchen sink, same thing. Unhooked the hose at the spigot, same thing, I think they are sucking their water from the sewer. We could not wash or use the water at all. I will call the health department.
My site was not level. - Shamrock ll
Jun 2015 - $35.00
This is really a seasonal campground rather than an overnight stop. We are not opposed to this, but this place seemed to be one big party, and we did not feel comfortable here. The drive throughout the park was almost too narrow to navigate with a big rig. The pull-through site was sloped and had no gravel or pavement. There was no fire ring or even a picnic table. - RNRVtravler
Jul 2012 - $30.00
The 30 amp sites that were available were un-level side to side. The power was very poor at under 105V, so our AC didn't fully kick in. Very busy place with season sites being the norm. The area behind us was rented to a company picnic, which ran until well after dark. We will not return, way over priced for what is here. - Teacher's Pet
Aug 2018 - $35.00
Mostly full time RV's in this park, no other park for miles. As you would expect from full timers lots of this and that around most if not all of the sites. Very nice swimming lake, all new electric and water system. A lot of tree's and no cable. Very friendly owners that live on site. Site was quite muddy. - Joe-Sandy
Oct 2017 - $30.00
This is a park in progress the owners have worked very hard to bring this park up to standard. They are making progress. The only complaint I had was some unsavory behavior in the women's shower. Then later there were some young men who were making a nuisance of themselves, but the owners brought a quick end to that. Weekenders can be difficult at times as most campers know. - NanCas
May 2016 - $27.00
We stayed for 5 days in a small trailer and 2 man tent. The roads are mostly dirt with some tight turns. These could be a problem for larger RV's especially in heavy rain. I don't have the experience to make it a fact. There are a lot of permanent fivers in the park, and other longer units. Our area was near a small pond which was a lot of fun for the grand-kids.
Do not recommend you stay on the week ends, unless you like a lot of loud music and such. The owner will intervene, but is only one person and can't possibly catch it all at once. There are rules that will be enforced.
The roads were great for all terrain bicycles. The area is very country. Trains, and some traffic noise, not bad, but we do live close to both at home. - NanCas
Oct 2016 - $32.00
The campground was under new ownership for the 2016 season. We have a seasonal site. The new owners have cleaned up the park and remodeled the bathrooms. There is new playground equipment, kayaks and paddle boards with life vests provided. Adding arcade games in rec room for 2017 season. Live bands on Holiday weekends. There are so many activities for my kids! We love it!! - virgomel
Aug 2015 - $45.00
Terrible dirt road to enter, dust bowl. Slow and unprofessional reception by teenager, then unable to park RV on assigned lot for a half hour due to employee car parked on it. After parking , rinsed dust off toad windshield to be able to drive and was promptly told "no washing of car". - Yooper17
Jul 2015 - $37.00
The park is off the beaten path and very quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful. The park appears to have seen its better days with a lot of long term campers in need of a good cleaning, repair, and picking up. Broken golf carts and other equipment scattered around the campground that are just mowed around v/s removing. It has a very nice lake but again the beach is need of clean up and repair. The park has been under new management for the past 5 years so it is difficult to know what condition it was in when purchased and how much has already been done. It would appear that management is relying on the long term sites to keep money flowing. The campground is close to some of our grandchildren and we would like to return but I doubt that we will. Sad, it has great potential and we wish the new management success! - VietVet
May 2019 - $89.00
Nice campground. Clean. We had a very long pull thru with patio and gas grille. Nice composite furniture. My biggest complaint is we had to pay $48 extra for 2 adults and $14 extra for my 4 year old daughter. Site price is only for 2 adults. We only stayed for 2 nights. Nice park just seems overpriced for the location. - Nickeagle
Oct 2018 - $63.00
Large park located out in the middle of farm country. 2 separate sections: one in the older section with shady sites spaced close together and one wide open with long pull throughs. We stayed on a Halloween holiday weekend, on a pull through, fhu site, hence the high price. Site was spacious with wide grassy area, unusual for a KOA. Some pull throughs had stamped patios with patio furniture, swings and gas grills. The trees in this section were medium to small so they provide little shade.
Wi-Fi was horrible. Only 1 hour free and even when I could connect - which was rare - page loads were so slow it timed out. Maybe it was because the park was full, but just a heads up: use your own hot spot or bring a jet pack. Cable channels were snowy (and I had my booster off!). Again, a full park so maybe signal was weak due to all sites hooking up to it.
The campstore was HUGE, the largest I've seen in a campground. Fully stocked with anything you'd need and then some. Full menu cafe - so much so that you'd not even have to bring food if you didn't want to. Lovely landscaping, friendly staff, spotless restrooms and laundry. Plenty of activities and ammenities for kids....although all that costs extra. - leaf peeper
Jul 2018 - $74.00
Holiday weekend. The $74 doesn't reflect the 10% KOA discount. We have stayed here off and on for 12 years. Once they became a "Resort" the pricing for everything went up! Charged for everything! Internet is only free for one device and it's worthless. Barely could get emails. Super friendly staff, immaculate grounds and spacious sites! Just be prepared to be nickeled and dimed. Some back ins are cheaper, pay extra for a pull thru. - Ohioan
Jul 2018 - $26.00
Upon check in, I had to ask directions to our campsite, as they didn't feel the need to tell us. The gift shop was closed the whole weekend. We weren't given a list of activities, so when we heard music playing, we walked to find it & seen they were having a dance. People looked at us like we didn't belong, so we walked back to our camper. Terrible weekenders in tents behind us. The woman was pregnant and had several kids already. She cussed at the kids all weekend. I had to go over to the electric box and remove the power cord from her 2 year old, who was playing with it! - dallas 66
Nov 2016 - $23.00
We have been prement for 2 years and love being the the saddest time is OCT the last weekend saying goodbye to my neighbors they are good people we will enjoy many years there. - Sherry Toland
Jun 2010 - $23.00
This is a very nice, clean mom and pop type campground. The sites are decent size and level. The campground is located well off a state highway, down a country road so it is very peaceful and quiet. There is a swimming lake and a fishing lake. There are lots of seasonal campers but there are several lots available for 'weekenders.' The staff is personable, friendly and helpful. There is a camp store which is well stocked with all of the essentials. We would definitely stay here again. - loribrady
Sep 2011 - $30.00
What a great hidden gem. The friendliest campground we have visited. Lots to do. They had a potluck/soup lunch with a huge screen showing the OSU football game the weekend we were there. This was an inside pavilion. They also have a large outdoor shelter house which is used often. My only complaint is that this is not really big rig ready. We reserved a pull through for our 42 ft couch with a pull vehicle, only to arrive and 2 small campers were already there. The site they finally found for us was very level but a bit of a twist and turn to get the RV into. Very open with trails for golt carts. Now that I know what to expect, I would visit again but see if a better spot could be found first. - LifeIsShort
Apr 2008 - $23.00
Roads are tight. Spaces are narrow and small. Electric is 25' away, water is 30' away. We sank about 6" into pad and about 12" in grass. If we didn't have to be in the area for 4 days we wouldn't be here. If you need to stay in area for 1 night use Wal-Mart. - cat3126B
May 2019 - $40.00
Very friendly people and staff! Lots of fun with bingo, fishing and the kids loved the playground. - BlueWolf
Sep 2016 - $27.00
90% seasonal campers most in good condition. 17 miles to Findlay. 20 PSI water pressure we had to use our water pump. WIFI was down the 4 days we spent here. Close to Ohio Route 15. Not much to do nearby. They do have a small pond to swim in. - Bburgbrewer
Aug 2010 - $27.00
Quick access off Rte 15, but a few turns are a little tight with a big rig. They have an excellent playground for kids - probably one of the best I've seen at a campground! We arrived late and left early. The park was half empty, so we had enough space. However, the sites are really close together in several areas. It would be tight when the park is full. I gave it a 6 because of the small sites and tight turns. We would stay here again. - WollyCampers
May 2017 - $35.00
Our first trip out with our motorhome. Park is easy in and out. Well maintained with good size lots. Will stay again. - Ohioclass
Jul 2015 - $24.00
nice level grassy areas with trees-ONLY down side is heavy train traffic noise across the way at midnite to 0500 hrs. - katmandu
